I’m not a fan of weed but obviously I’m fine with others using it. 

I have to agree with a lot of people here. Regulate it, tax it, restrict the age allowed to buy it, and make it legal! I don't partake often myself, but I should be able to without fear of getting in trouble for it.

Legalize it and regulate it, will reduce at least the nasty cartels in America.

Whatever one chooses to do is there business, not mine. If they want to smoke let them.. I do, I dont drink. Ive never gotten smoked a blunt and almost killed myself on my motorcycle, but I had a couple beers (not drunk, under limit just buzzed) and felt my self a little to much and almost died from it laying the motorcycle down. SO im all for bud over alcohol truthfully. But again its not my place to judge or tell someone what they can and cant do. So I think it should be up to the people to decide truthfully. As for abusing it, people abuse alcohol all the time, pain meds, sleep meds, even cough syrup. They do far worse to their body with these substances than with pot any day, plus the revenue it could bring in based on hemp alone is worth it. But whatever they can do what they please lol 

It's a better option than alcohol, but neither are really good for you.

Honestly I would say legalize it.. For a number of reasons starting with giving stoners something else to talk about besides the marijuana they smoked. 

Like anything else in this world.. If you tax it, regulate it, etc.. There will always be a black market for it.. Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms. Pills, you name it. The pros to this is I would think most honest people using marijuana would choose to buy it retail or whatever. Nobody likes dealing with that loser pot dealer like they tend to be for some reason. The cons would be the fact that anytime you legalize something you have to create a set of laws to define the legality of the item.. Basically regulate who can use, when they can use, and the penalty for for misusing it. This is a con only because the time and money being sunk into the legislature would be more than expected. 

Chances are if the federal government says they are no longer enforcing their marijuana laws, they are either going to leave all the decisions up to the states, or they are going to "encourage" (via access to federal grant money.) states to enact the laws they want.... Similar to how the drinking age was established. 

Furthermore, I have heard the argument of people losing their lives to marijuana, and not having the ambition anymore and all these other things. Though it's a sad deal for those people, consider this.

- Alcoholism is a thing

- People kill themselves and others with firearms

- Nicotine addiction

- Xanax, percocet, and other pharmaceuticals, though require a script are completely legal and highly addictive.  

-  Pseudoephedrine aka SUDAFED is an over the counter decongestant... It's also one of the primary ingredients in methamphetamine.

All of those things have ruined lives, are legal (except the meth part) and regulated. 

The list goes on and on and on.. Point being is we allow much worse things to fly without much recourse, why is marijuana being held to such a higher standard? Let me also say that I don't believe that marijuana is not addictive.. I am no scientist but I would say anything that manipulates your dopamine levels will probably have some kind of addictive property to it. It's all dependent on the person if they can handle that, right? I drink, but am not an alcoholic, I have a cigar like once a year maybe and feel no need to have tobacco products all the time.  

Not sure if I am making any sense here, but the moral of the story is there is just more reasons to legalize it, than to not.
