Title of the thread says it all. What death of yours on MR took the biggest emotional toll?

Probably the second time that I died, made so many friends during that time. After awhile it turns into meh, I died. Doesn't bother me so much anymore whether I was a hand, or a CL. Just apart of the game eventually. But the second round of playing definitely disappointed me.

Such a trite statement for me to say but my first death was definitely the most emotional. I went to a comp city to help a friend, and someone from my Godfather's crew at the time went rogue. He shot me then committed suicide. I always wondered if it was an inside job for me leaving. Then I came back to a shit load of money, support, and the okay to go back to the comp city. (P.S. I died again during the comp lol)

It only lasted 5 mins but the feeling was overwhelming. Ever since then I've always had some sort of fun right before my death.

Biggest emotional loss was a particular character whose story wasn't quite finished. LilyWhite will always be special to me.

It wasn't my first account but it was many years ago.  A buddy of mine (Tyrant) started a crew and made me RHM we both had pretty high wack stats.  I had just spent a ton of money on making myself IWP.  This was the first time I had ever been IWP so I was pretty excited.  A war broke out but we weren't involved, we were told to take pro shots just to be safe.  I got 1%ed the first time I ever took at a pro shot, and it was my first time being IWP.  Lol I was soooo mad.

No kills are so emotional as I see it, just a way for the game to lose users.

So wait, let me get this straight. Are you actually suggesting that the game should not include death at all? Do you realize how fucking stupid that would be? No one ever dies, we all just sit here and what, do OCs? The entire structure of the game is centered on death and turnover. The game would have collapsed years ago if there was no death.

On a side note, lol @ you replying to your last account's reply and "agreeing."

Hmmm this is a good one its either died in a duel on round like 20 or being 1% by your pro shot or even that vile thing known as a wackback

I can't say i've ever felt emotional at any of my characters deaths?

There have been a few where I've been shocked/angry at the time. Does that count? Never been upset as such though.

My first good account on TheScottishWarrior way back in 2002/2003 era (I think?) when it died on "BA Day". I was a relatively new CL having worked my way up through Shippies crew. This was the days when crews were 200 users per crew. I'd probably credit that death with the reason for me then sticking around, though. Nothing better than having revenge in mind to make a person jump right back in again.

Next would be my favourite character i've had, AlabamaWorley. Think that character last approx 8-9 months during Romans era and managed to make it to Godfather of DT. Was one of the strongest guns in the game but could turned on by those I was working alongside. Just lost out to some power hungry people, really disappointment in dying was not being able to live long enough at the top to make my own mark on the game. Still, shit happens.

Lastly and probably the most hurtful death was my last run as Slash in Las Vegas. Had a great group of people (so I thought) alongside us in Vegas, some people I'd known almost my entire time as a user here and people I trusted completely. Only for them to conspire against us purely so they could run the game in a more aggressive manner than I wanted to. Fair enough, each to their own etc. Just disappointing to be turned on by those you trust completely.

Probably the first time I used TheDonBot, I had been granted the title of acting Godfather of LA only to die a week or two later from some prior drama that I had nothing to do with. BLEEP BLOOP :( 

On JohnConstantine. I enjoyed writing that character, as I'm a fan of the comics and it was something different than I usually do, but it was really fun. I believe I cracked the shits over PTB drama and suicided. Highly emotional. Very immature. Loved writing that character though.

HenriDucard to be fair, the way it was presented was that you had everything to do with it. 

My most emotional death was not the one most people would assume. It was actually my first Viviana account, where I got my first auth and died 11 days later. I was SO devastated. RIP Tallywackers :( 

The week after I first started... Ended up killing the wrong rogue...

I was a CL under my "mom" who was a Godmother and after I died in a war a lot of people PMd me to say good game and that really surprised me because I hadn't really thought I had meant that much.  That was more like my most surprising death.  My most emotional was asking a friend to kill me in a war that was almost over and it meant a lot because she was a Godmother and was basically wasting a shot on me.  She left a beautiful whisper too.

Keypunch. The account was not mine, but was a very emotional death for me. 

Losing Arya in Philadelphia and then Frank Dicaprio and Varys in Chicago ... those were probably the most emotional I've gotten about the deaths of characters in the game.  I cried for the loss of Arya (she truly inspired me about how to handle death here #classy) and raged at my computer screen over Frank and Varys... but in a good way.  ;)

Of course, I hate seeing anyone in pain over losing their characters so, there's been a few times I've felt really strong empathy for others who have lost beloved characters here at MR.

I haven't had a bad heart ache over one of my own yet, but lord knows it's probably coming.  It's hard not to be attached to a character after writing for them more than just a little while.  Strangely I felt really like Lucy's story was done so it didn't gut me the way it probably could have.  I did have a hard time finding Frankie's voice at first... but I feel better about her now that I've been playing her for a bit.
