VOTE FRAUD - Please Read :) Started by: Squishy on Oct 23, '10 03:50

I would like to ask all Gigante members to please leave this alone now.
It is obvious that the difference of opinions will never be the same and it is only going to end up in a heated argument, an argument in which I don't want our family name involved in, so please drop it.

The admins have made rules, rules which we must follow, so there is no need to argue about it, deal with it and move on.

Thank you.

Tyr I have acknowledged my mistake, and that is exactly what it was. a mistake. one simple mail couldve saved me from making that mistake. and yet the people in the jail have made a mistake and they have now had 2 warnings about it (the mail and now the jail sentence) why was I and the other 'frauders' not given the same courtesy? Since your brain is clearly sooooooooo much bigger than mine, why dont you explain that one to me huh genius??

"Gaylord I dont think its possible for me to insult your intelligence cos I dont see any from you, but I suppose you can insult imaginary things like Jesus, God, Easter Bunny etc etc so I guess your intelligence be ok"

Ha!! You honestly make me laugh. The village idiot questioning MY intelligence. At least I never got myself killed over being dishonest. Well, dishonest or stupid. I can live with you telling me you're an honest person, but then you are just too dumb to see things through. Like many people have told you already, the information was there to be found and then, any time I click a link for the first time, I wait for it to finish loading to see what the hell they are making me do.

In general I don't trust things I'm doing for the first time. What if there was an honest mistake and the link isn't doing what it's supposed to do. I actually reported a broken link once myself.

Also, why in the hell would you go around thinking every site works like FaceBook? Out of all sites to make the standard... FaceBook???

I respect your opinion of thinking their voting system works great, but to expect this site or any site to work the same way?

And now, the toughest part (for you) an explanation that may require some brain power as it's not so linear as saying "click, follow the link".

Your account died because an Admin killed it. You said that *had you been warned* you would have corrected the mistake and your account not needed to be killed. That's where you pass the blame to them. They "failed" to warn you, so it's their fault you didn't correct the mistake in time.

Oh, and the reason why the IP sharing people didn't "die" is because accounts don't get any money, XP or any other benefits from playing from the same IP address.

Any other question?

Mr Focker,
Grim Reefer as informed me that he will no longer being participating in this discussion, and as stated before, my family have been asked to walk away from here and move on, I ask that you also now drop any replies to my members as it would be unfair for them not to be able to defend themselves. However, if you wish to take this matter private with one of my members, feel free to do so.

Report Post Tip

Not participating anymore but before I leave gaylord as said it all.

Report Post Tip

OK, so since we all practically talked at the same time a bit of an unfair situation happened.

I would seem to have had the last word, but Grim_Reefer here decided to step up and do two great things: follow his boss' orders and talk to me in private debating my points without calling me an idiot which in term made us have an intelligent, adult conversation without any insults.

Report Post Tip

TSA, sorry for having spoken without making sure you had not replied to my comment. I agree with everything you said and it was that feeling of "unfairness" that made me want to let everybody following this topic know that we are talking in good terms with your member.

Report Post Tip

"in term"?? What the hell was I smoking just then??

I of course, meant "in TURN".

Shame on me!

Report Post Tip

Perhaps this question I am about to ask should be in a new thread. Perhaps one already exists.... but I will ask it here for now:

This is an OOC forum. So what authority does a CL have here to restirct his or her members from posting in it?

I'm not implying any criticism of TheSmilingAssasin before anyone jumps down my throat! I just thought in this forum we were players not gangsters.

Report Post Tip

Well too be fair Vote fraud is OOC and my old boss LaQ still got jailed because of me...so why cant TSA impose his Auth on his family OOC

Report Post Tip

Whether vote fraud is OOC or not is not relevant. What is relevant is that this forum is OOC.

Report Post Tip

If things cant be discussed in OCC without fear of in character punishment, we have bigger issues than vote fraud.

Grill-Pan-Eddie
Of course, this is OOC and I knew there would be someone to step out and make a point about CL's vs OOC, but if I stood here calling you a sly little shit..I'm sure your leader or someone else would have something to say, or if I stood in OOC calling your leader a back stabbing bitch (he's not by the way), I'm sure I would suffer for it in the Mafia world.

Asking my members to please walk away from this topic wasn't an order, it was a request.
Arguing about this whole thing is pointless and the more people who get involved, the longer this crap will continue.
Rules are rules, people broke them, people died, move on, get over it, just like I told Grim Reefer.

My reply wasn't about pulling rank, it was about keeping the peace instead of an outbreak of hatred.

Report Post Tip

Just to be clear, I re-iterate my comment "I'm not implying any criticism of TheSmilingAssassin" (I fixed the typo this time too, sorry about that).

I simply found it an interesting move, and I must admit, I mis-read your post, you did indeed request your members walk away. I apologise for my mis-read and the tangent this led me down. No offence intended!

There seems to be a general blurring of what is IC and what is OOC, I'm not referring specifically to this, but in general in the game. Howvever, given this is an enormous tangent, and is in fact not relevant to this thread I will say no more here, other than to sincerely Out Of Character apologise to theSmilingAssassin for my misunderstanding.

Report Post Tip

Grill-Pan-Eddie,
I know you said you weren't going to reply to this thread anymore, but I hope you at least read it..

It's all good, I know how my reply could have come across, I should have perhaps made it more clear of my request, but other than that, no hard feelings, and I hope this is as far as it goes.

PS,
I'm still definitely not in an Underground! :P

Report Post Tip

Oh, and the reason why the IP sharing people didn't "die" is because accounts don't get any money, XP or any other benefits from playing from the same IP address.

I actually laughed out loud when I read that.

"at the end of the day voting is an OOC action so why should my in game boss take the heat for my OOC vote fraud...surely if anyone deserves all those hours in jail its me not him"

This is one of those things where we need to lead by example.  The CL's and their appointees who represent them need to be 100% clean from cheating/dishonesty.  The easiest and most effective way to make sure the people at the top are playing fairly is to ensure that the CL only hires those that he 100% trusts.  Call it "Additional Checks And Balances", call it "Sending A Message", call it "Name And Shame" - call it whatever you want, but in the end when you decide to put the fate of you and up to 50 member's total combined years of work in their accounts - you need to make sure its in good hands.  I think you underestimate just how important the position of a RHM or LHM is.  With a few button clicks, they can wipe out thousands upon thousands of combined hours of work from innocent people.  Holding the CL accountable for the actions of those he chooses to run his crew keeps the honest/responsible people at the top - which is to the betterment of everyone below them.

Some of you had said they wanted a warning.  Admin wacking was the warning :/  The second offense would be a short term ban.  The third and final offense would be a perm ban.

Report Post Tip

Bearing in mind the in game punishment being dished out for this can we have something on our crew pages so we can monitor people who are committing vote fraud.

That way a good CL can proactively help the admins and sort out cheats before they even become an issue with the game admins.
