With Alexus relocating to Detroit of course Alexus first concern was providing proper housing for her crew and friends of this thing of ours.  She made contact with a couple of realtors and was able to secure old apartment building in the Broadway Avenue Historic District.   It was a historic district located on a single city block along Broadway Avenue between Gratiot and East Grand River

Seems like the owner was hit by the depression really hard was eager to sell but still we negotiated and offered him a very handsome price for it. We secured a very good location for it was the corner block of East Grand River and very good for privacy and security.    Also behind the apartments was a warehouse up for sell she secured, which she could turn into a parking garage.

From the outside it didn’t look like much which was fine with Alexus because it kept them under the radar. She renovates the lobby and apartments in a very elegant manner.  She with help from Deanna and JoJoStiletto and Anne they had to get really creative with the lighting inside of the apartments for the windows were rather small.  But the time and expense of enlarging the windows didn’t out way the need for the privacy. They work hard together getting all the décor together.

With some floors being torn out replacing with hardwood, a few arches added to divide rooms, all the furnishings and fixtures they came long very nicely.  Alexus loved mahogany furniture so contacted a mahogany furniture manufacture to handle it all. She was very pleased with the array of furniture he provided.  Most of the furniture was designed differently for each apartment.   She then made a beautiful courtyard between the parking garages for outdoor parties.  She was ready to open yet another apartment building.

Since being awaken from a coma and being taken care of by the lovely miss Alexus, I was very thankful of her support of helping her recover after especially surviving a serious war. Helping with the renovations of her new establishment was just a little gratitude I owe her. After the grand opening I decided to move in permanently into the Starbird Apartments, it was only right after being adopted into the family. A 2 master bedroom apartment was the only thing I could get, I didn't need all this room but I guess this would be good to extend an invitation to @Jojostilleto to be a roommate. A little girl like me in a big space like this will get lonely to fast and living alone will be rough after being out of the hospital. 

Arriving to the lobby with high hopes and being welcomed by the doorman I waited patiently to speak with the lovely boss about inquiring an apartment... As I waited for her arrival, I began to write about her new grand opening and many more events that happen during the week.

Alexus met Deanna in the Rebellion Lounge.  They sat, had a quick drink and then she took her to the apartments she was thinking about.  The apartments were located on the second floor.  There were only six of them that had a private balcony that lead down to the beautiful courtyards.  They would have their own private courtyard before it expanded in the overall courtyard.  It would be ideal for JoJoStiletto dog and nice for outside private entertaining. 

Luc walked into the lobby of the Starbird Apartments looking for the person in charged and as he looked around he saw a woman that not only captured his attention she managed to snatch his breathe away.   He looked at her not with lustful eyes but with the eyes of his soul.  She was amazing the way she spoke to her team.  Luc loved educated women an she showed by the way she spoke and moved she was a boss.   He one of the staff members for the apartments what was her name and the lady laughed then told him.   

Nodding to himself he liked the name Alexus.  Alexus that could be a car or a bird or a medal awarded by the President of a country.  He walked over to a booth and watched as she spoke and laughed with her staff and friends.  He looked at the decor and the paint colors that she choose and he knew that he would have to treat a woman like that with a completely different approach.  She wasn't one for fun and games and she would not tolerate the tough guy approach either.  This means the refine approach where your a gentlemen day in and day out and all implusiviness must be contained because the only surprise she will like is flowers.  

He ordered a drink and smiled as she took a small glance at him then rolled her eyes and shook her head wondering why was he looking at her like that.  Then her secruity team walked over to his booth and asked if they could be of help.  He smiled and took a sip of his blue lable Scotch and looking into his glass told them no.  Then he movd his head looking back at the woman named Alexus as they attempted to block his view.  Smiling he nodded and then told them he was no threat nor would he cause any problems.  Then ordered a second glass as he finished the first.

Alexus was so excited.  She had just put the final touches on Momma Rosa and Victor,Jr apartment.  They would be returning from the old country later today.  His uncles took them there and would be deciding whether or not to allow Jr to stay with them in the states.   Alexus got word from them that they would allow him to stay and eventually let Alexus be his legal guardian.  Big Victor’s brothers knew how much she and Victor loved each other. They also knew how much Alexus loved his son.  They felt taking Jr away from her be like losing another part of Victor, Sr.

Everything looks so nice and comfortable and Alexus was so proud of the way she decorated Jr’s room with all his favorite things.  They weren’t going to arrive for a while so she went down  lobby to see what was going on down there.

She talked to Bernard awhile.  He told her they made a few changes in the Rebellion Lounge to go check them out.  He thought she would really like the changes.   When she walked she saw Matt behind a completely different bar area.  She sat down at the bar and Matt started to explain how they add the mirrors and glass shelves.  She told him it looked absolutely shunning.

As she looked around a couple of times she caught the eye of a guy that was sitting at a table toward the back of the lounge.  He was staring at her.  It had been a long time since another guy was able to look at her like that for she was always with Victor and only wanted his eyes on her.   But he surely caught her curiosity.  She told Matt to see if he would find out the guy’s name. 

Alexus left and went back into the business office to talk again to Bernard.  She told him she loved the new look at the bar in the lounge.   A few minutes later Kitty one of the waitresses walked in and handed her a note that said.

His name is Luc-DiCaprio

Alexus had stepped away as Luc was sipping on his second drink.  A young waitress approached him asking if he wanted to start a tab.  He looked at her and smiles but before he could say no she asked him his name and despite his better judgement he gave her his name.  

My name is Luc, Luc Dicaprio.  

He then returned to his drink thinking if she even noticed him or was he wishing for a miracle.  Luc smiled as he thought to himself that the next time he see's her he was going to walk over to her and introduce himself.  

Momma Rosa and Jr finally arrived and Alexus was so excited.  It had only been a couple of weeks since she had seen them but to her it seemed like a lifetime.  Jr. knew he wouldn’t be staying with her but he and Momma Rosa had their own place and he was used to that and fine with it.   He just loved his new bedroom.  Alexus chose a garden apartment for them because with Momma Rosa’s permission she had a big surprise for JR.  Victor, Sr had got a dog for him but it ran away so Alexus decided to get him another one.

Alexus had the hardest time picking one out for him, they were all so cute..  She wished the Victor,Sr was with her but she decided on the Border Collie.  The pet shop owner to her the Border Collie is considered the most intelligent of all domestic dog breeds.  He is a fun and friendly perfectionist with a permanent will to please. Plus he was just so adorable.

They all went downstairs to see Jr. surprised.  When he saw the dog he almost cried with joy.  Alexus showed Jr the doggy door where he could go outside when he wanted to.   She showed him how the outside was all fenced in and the dog couldn’t run away again.

She asked Jr what was he going to name his new dog and he said Bo.  OK Bo is it Alexus told him. 

Nikki was walking along Broadway Avenue when she noticed a tall building ahead of her with the sign ‘Starbird Apartments’. She recognized the first word. Starbird. The Rebellion Starbird? Alexus! Nikki raised her eyebrows and found herself curious, so she approached the front entrance and began to walk inside. She was amazed. Her eyes roamed the vicinity and she just knew that a lot of hard work and effort was put into renovating the place.

She couldn’t see where Alexus was in that moment but she decided to write a note and asked one of the staff members if they could leave it on her desk. Nikki waited in the lobby. The note read:

Wonderful place you have here. I am keen on purchasing one of your apartments next time I’m in Detroit. In fact, I have a meeting with a client next week and I was wondering if I could pay for a room in advance?

Alexus was so disappointed that she had missed NikkiOsavkovska.  She would have loved to have had a drink with her and showed her around. She had become quite friendly after she was allowed to interview her for the Los Angeles Press Syndicate.  She went down to the business office and told Bernard to make sure she received this note.

Hello Nikki,

Sorry I missed you the other day would have been nice to show you around.  Because I am on the road a lot my General Manager, Bernard Mills, or his staff will be able to assist you in leasing an apartment any time.  They are all aware that you will be returning.  There are two apartments that I am very fond of and think you would enjoy most.  They will escort you to both for you to choose from.  I have had the security deposits waived, so maybe you would consider a long term lease and make this your home away from home.  Detroit is a nice stop over point when going from Coast to Coast. However, if you would rather just short term lease or just a day or so, rates are available and that would also be fine also.  Hopefully I will be around when you return and we can get together.  I am looking forward to seeing you.

Alexus

 Alexus was just relaxing waiting for Jr to come back with hamburgers he went to the Rebellion Café. He was growing up so fast.  She couldn’t believe he would be thirteen soon.  He was such a good smart kid.  Suddenly the phone rang and kind of caught her off guard.  It was Molly from the Café telling her that Jr was in a commotion.  She told Molly she would be right down.    When she arrived at the table where Jr was sitting with @Luc-DiCaprio , the guy she saw at the Lounge the other day.  She could see Jr’s wallet and money spread on the table and he seemed quite upset.  She sat next to  him and asked what happened. 

Jr told her that he gave the waitress a twenty dollar bill and she only gave him change for ten dollars.   He had told her she was wrong he gave her a twenty dollar bill.

On the table he spread out three one hundred dollar bills and three twenties.  I know I didn’t have a ten dollar bill in my wallet Lex.  I know I didn’t.  I gave her a twenty dollar bill.  

Luc-DiCaprio left the table and said he would handle it and sure enough the waitress came back over gave Jr ten dollars and apologized to him.    When the waitress left Luc introduced himself to Alexus.  He then turn to Jr and told him remember what I said.  Always stand up when you are right and never keep that much money in your wallet.  Put it in your sock and shoe like I showed you.

Alexus told Luc it was nice meeting him and thanked him for helping Jr.  He told her likewise and told Jr it was nice meeting him also.

They left and went back upstairs. Once inside Alexus quickly turned to Jr and asked him what he was doing with so much money.  Jr told her that his Uncle Charlie said he was the man now and had to take care of her.  He told her he had plenty of money he had earned from being good. She asked him where he had this money.  He took her back to his apartment with Momma Rosa went into his bedroom closet and pulled out an old chest.  He opened it and gave her an envelope.  When she looked inside there was way over three thousand dollars at least.  She showed Momma Rosa what was in the envelope and she was just as surprised as Alexus.  She was so shocked she just told him to put it back,  she needed time to think about this.

Luc sat with JR smiling at the boy as he saw the family resimbalance.  Then he saw Alexus approching he looked at her and gave a nod as he stood up from the table.  He leaned down and whispered to the kid and the kid looked up at him with that famus Lucchese male grin exactly like his own.  It was like watching a kid realize that he understood the entire game and how to win before it even started.  Refusing to take another glance at Alexus for fear she would notice his lustful eyes for her he went to see the waitress.  

He returned after a few minutes and handed the kid his correct change.  Then the waitress came over with fear in her eyes and apologized and explained that she counted down her draw and saw that she was over by that exact amount calling the kid Mr. Lucchese.  Luc smiled and then forcing a innocent look on his face and smiled at Alexus as she looked into his eyes she saw something in them that went beyound lust, she saw sencarity and kindness that same look that Jr's father used to give her.  Then she saw fear not that kind that a man would have because of who she was but of making a mistake that would cause her harm.  

Then Luc made a nod geusture towards her to say goodnight then the same to Jr.  Then he walked away.

Last time that Nikki visited Alexus’ establishment, she was looking for her. But there was a sinking feeling in her chest as she walked into the lobby, missing her presence. She was gone. Forever. But still, Nikki would never forget the kindness that Alexus showed to her. Surely enough, Nikki had received the note that Alexus left her regarding the potential lease of an apartment.

Since Nikki was bound to be travelling more soon and meeting up with clients, she thought it would be best that she settles with a long-term lease. Nikki was convinced that Starbird Apartments would be the place for her. When she got into her apartment, she felt a little upset. She wished that she could’ve at least thanked Alexus one last time face to face.

"Thank you Alexus..." she whispered in the air. 

Rain set up a meeting with Bernard to go over some details of the apartment and to retrieve some of Alexus's things.  Alexus had purchase the apartment building.  It was the only one Rain wasn't familiar with.  She had to confess that she had done a wonderful job with the renovations.  It didn't look like much for the outside but it was absolutely gorgeous on the inside. 

She walked in the apartment it screamed Alexus.  She loved mahogany furniture and it was beautiful.  Alexus had outfits in the closet with the tags still attached.  Rain thought how they always shared their outfits for they were the same exact size.  She decided to keep the apartment much the same.  She only had to pack up a few things. 

As she was leaving she told Bernard he was doing an excellent job maintaining the apartment building, that she had no complaints and for him to just continue his good works.   She left a number where she could be reached and told him she would see him again soon. 

Tutte came into Starbird Apartments where he had many good memories with Alexus that he had heard had past away sadly but he also heard another gal had been in here to sort things out so perhaps he could have a talk with this new one taking over the building and ask if he could hire a smaller apartment. Well inside he just saw a desk but didnt see any nehin it so he tried to say hello highly but no anwser where heard so he took up a pen and paper and wrote a letter and put under the bell that where at the desk and then he walked out again in the dark night of Detroit.

Rain and Bentley were leaving  entering the lobby As Rain looked across the lobby her eyes met the eyes of her old good friend @Tutte.  It had been a while since she last saw him.  As he stared at her she whispered to Bentley to go retrieve him and meet her back at the apartment.

When they arrived at the apartment @Tuttle walked in and just hurried to Rain and gave her a tight hug.   When she finally caught her breath she told him that she had just come back.  There was a few things that she had to take care of first, she didn’t want certain people to know that she was back, so she was just laying low.  She told him that she was sorry,  she didn’t have more time to talk, she was already running late for a flight out.   She assured him she would be touch.  She went into her purse and wrote down a telephone number and gave it to him.   You can reach me  or someone can from this number.

Rain was finishing up some business with Bernard when she notice that NikkiOsavkovska had a long term lease on a apartment there.   She had spoken to Nikki a few times since she was back but hadn’t actually met her in person.   Alexus was so thrill when Nikki had set up an interview with her for her newspaper.  Now that Nikki had set up her new operation in Detroit maybe Rain would be able to see her more when she visited.  She hoped that Nikki would take advantage of the apartments.  There were some vacancies that maybe her member could utilize.  Bernard told her that Nikki wasn’t in her apartment.  Rain hoped that when she returns she would have more time to spend in Detroit and perhaps they could maybe meet in person.

Finally, things in Nikki's crew were finally starting to settle down and she could take a breather. It seemed like it had been hectic since the start. But now - she could rest and go back to her apartment. She hadn't forgotten the fact that she had a long term lease on it. If it wasn't for Nikki's willingness to trust Alexus, she probably wouldn't have agreed to it. Nikki wanted to finally meet Rain. That was her main goal when one of her men dropped her off at the front entrance of the apartment building. She hopped out, her shiny elegant legs making their presence known and her beautiful silk dress that hugged her body perfectly. 

She walked gracefully towards the entrance, pausing to look around and remembering the last time she was here. She looked so different back then. Clothing that was worn out. A smile that never seemed to reach her eyes. But look at her now - it's like she had it all. That dazzling smile and the luxurious clothes that made everyone's heads turn. 

But she was just as human as everybody else. Nikki approached the reception desk, and with a warm smile on her face she politely asked, "... is Rain here...? I'm a friend of hers and would like to see her immediately."

After a long day's work, Frank came in and sat down at the Rebellion Poker tables.  The waitresses were kind enough to just keep feeding him drinks as he played and lost most of Viktor 's money at the table repeatedly pushing all in with ridiculously stupid hands.  He'd had enough after he lost the first 500k and staggered off to the Lounge and ordered himself a couple more drinks.  Eventually he passed out and the security had to carry him up to a room.

The next morning Frank woke up and thanked the staff for their hospitality and paid his invoice and left a sizable tip for their extra work.  He walked out to the ambulance and went to report to work.

Rain and Big Moe were just hanging out at her apartment.  They were glad that everything went smoothly in Bogota although it was touch and go there for awhile.  Moe was telling Rain how pleased he was with Luc-DiCaprio.  How he stepped up and really had his back. 

He suggests to Rain for them to go play a little poker downstairs.  Rain wasn’t really in the mood to play but told him she would go and watch have a few drinks. 

When we arrived at the Rebellion poker room they had a nice game going on and Big Moe got his chips, introduced himself and  joined in.  I sat at the bar in view of the poker table. 

I recognized Frank-Pierce.  I had never met him personally but ran a job with his crew in Philly. I notice that he had a few drinks and seemed to be getting a little intoxicated.   He began to play some terrible hands and Big Moe was raking in his money.  I told Paulie the cage manager not to extend him another buy-in.  Luckily it didn’t come to that he had lost enough.  Moe also cashed in and came sat by me at the bar.   I have him the look. He knew what look and quickly asked me “What?”

You knew he was drunk why would you take advantage of that and take his money.  You should return it.   “Fuck Rain, there you go getting all sensitive. You know me better than that,  I was just  protecting  his money from the others at the table.  I have all intentions of returning some.  Yeah that’s right some; son of a bitch shouldn’t have got drunk at a poker table.

When we were leaving the poker room we saw security escorting Frank-Pierce to his room.  Moe told them to hold up.  He went into the business office and put some money in an envelope.  He wrote on the front in big letters

“From a very sensitive Rain and generous Big Moe “Booze and poker don’t mix.

He gave the envelope to Charles the security guard and told him to place it on Frank’s table. 

The hustle in the streets had been flowing nicely for Linen. The same night he arrived in Detroit, Linen gathered enough money for a down payment on an apartment. He phoned the Starbird Apartments' office and cut them a deal in cash and before long, he was the proud owner of a one-bedroom and one-bathroom apartment. Linen didn't have any belongings except for the clothes on his back, but he did have a pocket full of cash. He walked to the local bus stop and made his way to his new apartment.
