With a slew of great games coming out in the following year, has PS3 surpassed Xbox or is it lagging behind? Which game series from PS3 and Xbox go head to head? Killzone vs Halo? Gears of War vs God of War?

What makes you say that? Is it the games? Or is it the system itself?

The PS3 has already surpassed the Xbox for two reasons. 1. The PS3 has free online services. This is big because most gamers only really care about playing online nowadays, especially with games such as Call of Duty and Halo. 2. Xbox was made by Microsoft. An evil company bent on ruling the world. (The second reason was a personal opinion, but you get the point)

Games that go head-to-head, I would say probably Halo vs CoD aannnnnddd, I don't really know about the games that only play on one console.

Is it possible to believe that Halo would have been a better game to play on the PS3? I'm taking into the consideration the dynamics and the hardware of the PS3..

There is no way that PS3 can surpass the 360 because of simply quality of games, amount of games produced, and online community. The online community for the PS3 is way behind the community of the 360, and if you don't believe me just try and play the PS3 and then the 360 and see which one has the tougher online. The answer is the 360 because there are simply more people playing and at a higher skill level.

I feel that it wouldn't make much difference if Halo was on the PS3 instead. It's not that good, honestly. I also disagree with Rover. The fact that Sony Playstation has been around longer than Microsoft Xbox alone means that the community for the PS3 is larger. Added to the fact that the PS3 has more features and free online, that says more people probably play it. As for skill level, you don't want to play against someone that's going to cream you every single game. Thus, I feel the lower skill level of the users on the PS3 is not that big of a problem.

I tend to agree with both views. I would agree that Xbox has a bigger online base but the fact that remains that Xbox charges...expensive too. I dont believe that PS3 will surpass the Xbox when it comes to online communities but it does have various games that people can enjoy online. The two games that dominate the xbox online community are Halo and Gears of War. Both are great games but the fact remains that why would I pay a certain amount a month just to get creamed as soon as I log in? There's no fun in that. It would be a waste of money.

Also, PS3 has Blu-Ray capabilities.

Not to mention Gears of War blows and Halo is going to have a new company making it's games, so there's no telling if they will be worth playing at all.

As much as I love PS3...I would not mind having Gears of War on the PS3. The action is extreme! Its up there with Resistance and Killzone. Its that good.

NO! PS3 IS BAD EXCUSE FOR GAMING! IT'S A WANNABE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM AND THE XBOX IS FOR GAMERS! 2 seperate objectives. 360 good for GAMING, PS3 good for a living room blu ray replacement.

In my opinion there not comparable, the Xbox is more for hardcore gamers, the PS on the other hand is more of a family fun living room console.

How can you say the PS3 is not for "hardcore gamers"? Sony Playstation has always been on the forefront in gaming. Right up there with Nintendo. And, if you think about it, the Xbox can also be used to play DVDs and music. So, saying that the PS3 is for "living room blu ray replacement" is stupid.

I would agree with Panda. The PS3 has become a forefront in gaming entertainment with the sick ass games that different companies have been producing. If you want family fun, the Wii is the choice for family. But PS3 is way much better in gaming. I'll admit that Xbox has been up on top thanks to Halo and Gears of War but if you think about it, what other games has Xbox had? It goes back to the same argument as before...Xbox has a better online community. I would agree with tha BUT they charge. PS3 does not. That's a huge plus for Playstation. If you think about it, if it wasnt for Halo and Gears, the Xbox would just be a regular computer lol.

Explain to me how exactly PS3 has shit games? It has the SAME EXACT games as on the Xbox with the exception of Halo, Gears of War and possibly some more.

Exacly no Halo nor Gears or the greatest game of all time Forza Motorsport! Im not into God of War or Batman(also available on xbox). Ressistance is decent, Killzone was cool 5 or 6 years ago on ps2. Xbox Live cant be touched. If you can afford a xbox you can afford $50/yr for xbox live aswell. Kind of like buying a car, if you can afford a Aston Martin DBS then you should be able to afford the inssurance.

Lololol. Halo is a bullshit game. Game after game, it's the exact same shit. You're always gunning down elites with some shitty gun. Gears of War is nothing compared to many of the other shooting games out there. And, finally, Forza Motorsport, really? I wouldn't even classify that as a game. Simply put, why pay $50 a year to play online when you can plan online FOR FREE. Three games definitely are not going to make me want to shell out money that could go towards bills or groceries for live on a game.
