| Peace Treaty Between Godfathers | Started by: Ozzymandias on May 30, '11 04:35 |
|
What's the deal with all the war going on among men and women of our ilk? Why don't the Godfathers of all the various cities call a National Conference of Godfathers and sign a peace treaty to ensure that there is no war among us, the criminal class, when it is clearly in nobody's interest, except of course for those who are ambitious and willing to backstab their fellow criminal class comrades?
Why don't all the Godfathers agree to no war for a month, this would ensure that nobody is killed in an inter-city squabble, and would clearly be in the rational self-interest of all the Godfathers of all the cities.
If there is a peace agreement, then there will be no provocation for war, and if there is no provocation for war, then there is no fear and profits for all will be maximized.
These are just a couple of questions that I have for those of us on the streets because, for us street-dwellers, there is also no incentive for war since we are usually the ones who die, while the Godfathers and Dons, you know, the guys who aren't in the streets, but in the fancy hotel suites and mansions, are the ones who live and usually take over the recently destroyed city. |

Solastalgia peered out from the rubble that littered the streets. Getting himself out of the pile of rocks he was hiding under, he dusted himself off, revealing a small gunshot wound on his arm.
I agree with this man. The horrifying amount of war that plagues these streets is absolutely ridiculous. What are we, animals? So many countless, innocent lives have been slaughtered.. all in the name of what? A petty grudge?
The bloodshed has to stop. Our cities are being torn apart by it. Just look at Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, Saint Louis and Philadelphia - they're falling apart! When will the madness stop?
Ozzymandias, I commend you. You, my friend, are a hero among men, for suggesting that we end the meaningless slaughter that has plagued our streets for the past few months. Your love for the common man and your vast insight and knowledge of our world is a refreshing panacea to the bloodshed that has attached itself like a cancer to our cities.
Bravo, sir. |

Aldo stubbed out his Columbian cigar and grinned. He looked up at Ozzy
This world is powered by greed and corruption. Treaties are just pieces of paper. The godfathers have official control, but some angry leader, or even some thug, could spark a war just because of their own personal agenda.

I'm not snickering, if a treaty was guranteed to maintain peace, then I'm all for it, but human nature outcompetes a sheet of paper. I'm just expressing my opinion on this matter.
Aldo pulls out a 6 inch Columbian cigar out of his brest pocket, slips it into his mouth, and lights it. |

Bismarck stands silently watching the conversation go on. His steely gaze moves from man to man as they take their turn speaking. After pondering the scene he has taken in the thought comes to him... |

*Paris listens intently before deciding enough is enough*
People, take a deep breathe and relax. Where is all this 'war' over the past fews your refering too. Too quote "Too much blood has been shed in the last few day", have I been living under a rock
*Flicks through the local obitsto see only a few scaterrings of unfortuntate deaiths, certainly nothing to get concerned about*
There will always be provocation for war and no piece of paper willl stop that. Our Godfathers are in the position to do whats right for their city, and to protect its people, not to be some gun-touing trigger happy yobos as you're making out. As has been stated before, there is a mutual respect between the heads of all cities, but unfortunately there will always been some rogue who feels its time for a shake-up, each situation and action is judged on its own individual merits... that's the world we have choose to live in, and if you want to embrace peace, you're in the wrong field of work my friend
If this is in reference to the LA situtation which I feel it maybe, then Godfather Roman came to these very streets to explain the situation and has been debated on many a street corner past
*With that Paris fold his paper under his arm and walks into the darkness* |

PARISo is right, There will always be wars, there will always be deaths, if we have no wars, we have no need for guns, why not go the whole hog and hand them into the local cops,
wilst listening to the debate i heard this statment made.

I am wondering if it might be the first of april or something because i can't see a war that has happened over the last few days. Did i miss it? perhaps I did, if so i appologise, but lets face it, we used to have so many wars on alomst a weekly basis. now the last thing that happened on a large scale was foxy deciding to kill her entire city and then she was taken out, there used to be a time a war would start over the smallest thing, people would be shot for pickpocketing others and other minor things, now with the invention of robots and purchasable kills there seems to be less war, but should we stop shooting alltogether then, if there is no war there is no need for a gun, no need to find bums on the street who have been sleeping for a week, no need to get one of those magic people that appear at the cost of those funny credit things in your pocket.. you cant have your cake and eat it, if you dont want war, you dont want guns. |

Mister Ozzymandias, i wont say that war is primary goal here but sometimes it is only solution. Everyone will do anything they can to protect their city/family and sometimes that means war another city/crew and try to suprise them. |

Notices the candles being lit, waved in the air as he leaves a funeral.. walking out from the church he can see the activity going on across the street as he walks over, getting his own candle out lighting the wick with a match he lit on his leather like roughed up face |

listening to all the ignorant rejoinders being thrown around in the streets, Ozzy begins to regret taking his question to the streets in the first place
Listen up people, there is no need to eliminate shooting if we eliminated war. We are still fighting the cops and repressive state forces, although their presence seems rather limited in this thing of ours. It seems to me that we spend a lot of time preparing for war, training at the shooting range, and murdering other mafioso, when a "true" mobster of our era would spend more time fighting the forces of the State. I've noticed that due to the lack of cops, bankers, and other members of the State to fight against, we have turned to fighting each other.
The Godfather of Detroit, or Las Vegas, or Chicago, or any city really has no real interest in starting a war with the Godfather of another city. If they agreed to peace, then they don't have to worry about being removed from their powerfull position, and they can keep on raking in huge profits without the threat of death looming on the horizon.
Wars, or at least the final say on when wars start, are usually in the Godfathers' purview, We don't go to war unless the Godfather sanctions it. So why don't all the Godfathers get together and agree not to officially sanction war? |

ozzymandias, my statment wasnt aimed to make you regret posting in the streets at al, and altho i knew the replies were toung in cheek i was meerley stating that at some point with no wars the need for a gun would desist, if anyone should regret posting it would be me i appologise for making you feel unable to post and will not interupt the streets again without making myself more clear. |

Monkey, I stand by original statement whole-heartedly.
As you said, "There will always be wars, there will always be deaths, if we have no wars, we have no need for guns, why not go the whole hog and hand them into the local cops"....This is my point exactly! There is not cop presence in this thing of ours so all of our training and efforts are put toward fighting each other. Having the perspective a 1930's era mobster, I have to say that there is not much mobster vs. cop fighting going on. I think this has to do with the structure of our society.
Anyway, we should go on "strike," so to speak, eliminating all wars and inter-city fighting, until the Godfathers decide to "do something" about turning our battles against each other into battles of united Godfathers and united Crew Leaders against Law Enforcement and other repressive arms of the State. |

I was referring to the logistics of this thing of ours as it's currently constituted, not logic. But I can be a logician if you'd like. It's actually pretty easy. I just use common sense and then pull LoveGun out of a hat. |

Then this thing of ours seems rather pointless. We should be fighting against the State, not each other. |
