Whatever... Obviously you don't understand what I'm trying to say, and much like Finlandia, I'm tired to explain it and it's past my bedtime. One last thought... your words "However, god forbid I ever get my way regarding this, or my stones will turn into bullets...bullets that won't be hurled towards these "Mobster B" types, but rather shot from my pistol."... you probably should have left that little bit out, even if it is your opinion Goodnight. |

I would like to puit a simple view across here. You get thrown into jail, I am participating in the crackdown. I notice you, a fellow jailbreaker, screaming to be broken out. Now what would the benefit of me breaking you out be? It would be more beneficial for you to be in jail for as long as possible as this would give me a higher %age of mafioso to brake out. Were I to break you out first, all of a sudden there would be another JB'er releasing people, therefore taking away jail breaks that I could have. It is more benefical for me if fellow jail breakers are locked up during a jail break then on the otuside reducing the ammount of jail break I can do. |

Who is screaming to be broken out? I never suggested you had to break those thrown in out. However, I'll tell you this. Someone spent their hard earned dollar to get a jail going. This benefits you, in that you get to break some people out. Now, lets say you subscribe to my opinion, and only break those out with fewer guards (anything less than 20). This still benefits you to a degree right, as you are actually getting to break someone? Now, lets switch sides. You break all the 20 guarders out. You didn't spend your hard earned dollar on the jail. I did. I am thrown in and by the time I'm out, all the heavily guarded mafioso's have been busted out. Why should I ever start another jail? What's my motivation? The fact is, I won't. So, now, I'm not starting jails. You get zero jailbreaks, as opposed to the ones you would've gotten. Now we both lose out (though, as Seroquel pointed out, I will have changed my strategy and only done them in cities where people are sleeping). Thus it comes down to the morales of the matter. Sure, you can bust to you hearts delight. You can look out for number one. But, in the end, trying to do the honorable and respectful thing can actually get you further than working for yourself, as others will be more likely to help you as well. And such is my point. Sure, nobody has to conform to this ideology. Do I believe it to be the honorable thing to do? Yes...my opinion. However, watch as people like me stop doing crackdowns (and perhaps raise our fares for crackdowns purchased) because of this. This hurts the community as a whole...which doesn't matter to some. And to be honest, I'm really ok with that. |

Ade, whilst I respect you for brining up an interesting topic, I think we need to look at the cold hard reality. It is $1. If you spend your $1 and get thrown in, then you are clearly not good enough at crackdowns. Maybe you should hijack other peoples crackdowns until you get good enough to spend money on your own without the worry of getting thrown in and your crackdown be hijacked. You cant control the jails. Yes, in this world, as in all worlds, there is a right, perfect, morale way. But the human race is not right, perfect and morale, therefore we can not be expected to act in the right, perfect and morale way the majority of the time. The gangster world is simple. God Leader Family Yourself If you are not one of the above, why should I give a fuck? |

Seriously I think there is nothing left to discuss... Don't pay for the crackdown if you are still failing on your first highly guarded mafioso, wait until you are better. |

You don't have to Cowgirl. Again, you get the choice. But, it is you that hurt yourself by getting fewer jailbreaks (because everyone has stopped running them or is charging tons of cash for them).... which in turn hurts your family (as you can't rank as quickly, therefore unable to offer better protection in times of war, as well as carrying fewer drugs and benefiting the family financially).... which hurts your leader (as now they aren't getting as much cashflow in to better the protection of the family).... which hurts the gods (because now they aren't getting the same financial benefits of people freely buying crackdowns anymore). |

Again, this wait until you get better theory isn't accurate either. I'd put myself in the top 5% when it comes to jailbreakers (give or take). I don't miss many, have done HUNDREDS of jailbreaks (started as a Civvie and was trained right away), and yet, there is the occasional time I get tossed in on the first one. I have yet to meet anyone that hasn't...ever. |

| Adebayor, I am happy paying for my own jail breaks. It is only $1. I am happy paying for JB's, and if someone highjacks it, well it just means they are better then me. | |

(after reading all this who wouldn't) What i can not figure out is why do so many highly rank members continue to bust out the sleeping out of jail. I don't get it when in thier profile they busted out hundreds of us. I do understand it helps you get promoted faster but at some point your ranked as high as your going to get. Beside ranking i don't see much need in our way of life to be able to break people out with 20 to 100 gaurds. I can barely break out those with 1 guard, but i do like to try the ones with the most just to see if i can. one day it will happen i am sure, but i wont be parading it in the streets. The rest of the times i get thrown in jail waiting to see who will bust me out. Perhaps the proper way is for those who can jailbreak anyone, just break out the jaibreakers. (my head hurts now and i have to go to work) |

I can see both sides of the argument here Ignoring the bickering (please stop) If you go on a mission to bust your associates out of jail it is unlikely that 200 random people will be sitting there ready to bust you if you get caught during a mistake in the attempted bust. So from that technicality I don't understand 100s of people enjoying the fruits of anothers defined mission. However, in saying that, things don't tend to be "fair" around here (or so I'm told) so sometimes shit happens and you just have to be sensible about where you invest your jail breaking equipment funds (OOC: $1). Perhaps certain locations at certain times offer better scope, perhaps if you work with your leader you can kindly request that certain people not infringe on your space in your leaders city. As far as I know Chicago is still running an initiative to try and limit their jail exploits to their own people. Perfectly understandable I think. We could easily implement this elsewhere without the consensus of the populous. Ultimately if senior members of this world do not want their criminal forays distrubed and interrupted by others then that's life. Work your networks and either force your opinion or take advantage of influence. I have been thoroughly annoyed by jail invaders in the past. It is perhaps not so applicable now since I seem to have done ok but there can be no doubt that certain people exist to leech. Perhaps something should be done...perhaps not...I'm open to respectful thoughts. Respectful thoughts is a kind way of saying - please don't persist in abuse. |

First off we all know how I feel about Chicago and jailbreaking restrictions but I respect their right to implement such policies. As for the greater question of jailbreaking as a whole I think it is more than reasonable to assume that the burden of properly allocating jailbreaking funds not be diminished for the potential jailbreaker's convenience. When a crackdown occurs it should very well be any young mafioso's prerogative to seize the opportunity. The fact is jailbreaks are not private parties so you can't complain about people crashing the show. There also is the issue of whom to bust out should a situation arise whence you are given the opportunity. We all know the agony of messing up on a job and being forced to watch from behind bars as the guys you went to save run free and its one of the dangers of attempting those riskier jailbreaks. You can't blame those young mafioso trying to make a name for themselves if they choose to break out someone with a little more prestige than yourself, and the longer you remain behind bars the less competition for them. This isn't let everybody have their turn happy fun time, this is organized crime so get used to people looking out for themselves rather than you and yours. In the old days if somebody was that worried about getting pinched pulling a job they'd bring along an old pro to watch their back. I don't see why guys gotta come to the streets pleading for the odds to be evened when they can just do this. And lastly, with regards to etiquette, it shouldn't be seen as disrespectful to leave a guy from another town and another crew rotting well you go to town on his potential score. Its one thing to pass up an old friend or a family member, these people are the guys that have your back and you gotta have theirs, but its another to leave some nobody gangster who thinks they own the jails sitting on his ass. |

Well, first off, I'd like to thank everyone for their input. After reading what seems to be a general consensus that "numero uno" is all that matters, perhaps I will conform to your beliefs. With that being said, I will now be charging $1 million per crackdown, and have spoken to others that will soon be raising their prices as well. I will also begin discussions with my boss about closing Philly to all jailbreaks outside the family, and hope she follows in Mr. Tufting's footsteps. What this has all boiled down to is "I don't have to, so why should I", a very common thought process around here, which suggests that perhaps this world isn't ready to grow as a community. I'm all for staying in our individual boxes and looking out for ourselves rather than showing simple courtesy when it could benefit us all. The fact that this common courtesy (along with other such things as petty namecalling, bickering, and such) is lacking has and will continue driving mafioso's away from this world...something that perhaps doesn't really matter to some. But alas, no, nobody is expected to be courteous. It's sad to see this world come that though, because if this is the true thought process, then I'm sure we will see this trickle down to other functions. Want a reference? Why should I help you out? It doesn't benefit me. Need a little start up cash because you're new and need some drug money? It doesn't benefit me. Want drug prices? It doesn't benefit me...and so on. However, I am convinced by many of your words that this is the path this world must take. |

As I have always felt it is not up to the community to accommodate every mafioso this world spits out. There is no reason why I should ever help out a random foot soldier in some family that is not my own, unless doing so would benefit myself. A sense of community must be established within the families that reside in this world. As far as I'm concerned looking out for yourself needs to take a back seat to looking out for the family as a whole. Perhaps I did not make it clear earlier, I feel it is your duty out of respect to try and help out family members if you see them in the slammer before going after the big fish, but if its not your show and you are just there to earn your street cred who cares about some other guy after the same thing. This is a cut throat world and to survive you gotta rely on those close to you perhaps if the world seems cold and hostile it should befall the leaders to take better care of the people keeping them in power, but I'm just not gonna bow down to every two bit gangster who thinks hes hot shit cause he knows when the next crackdown is gonna drop. Each family has gotta do what its gotta do, but its a little much for everyone to always be up in arms cause they got beat to the big score during a crackdown. |

| I'd like to announce that I'll be taking advantage of the situation and price gouging like a bastard. Crackdowns are now $250,000. That's an increase of $150,000, but it's well below the current market value of a million dollars. Visit me at Honest 47's Crackdowns R Us. I remember reading back a while now. When families would organise lots of new people who didnt have a clue what they were doing, together, Then get a few older Jailbreakers to be there and try and show these new people the art of busting someone out of jail. The quickest way out, any hidden tunnels and any other ways to get people out. so that they in time could help others learn. Yes at the start most of them kept failing, being caught or making a wrong move and got thrown in there themselves. Then once again the old hand would come along and show them how it was done until, in time they managed to get the hang of it. What i have read in my ancestors diaries there was a great deal of pride when you managed to actually break someone out or when the person you were training managed to break someone out and this could go on for hours on end until people started to actually get the hang of it. Nowadays, as far as I know anyways this doesnt happen anymore you hear of people getting rounded up and its a mass free for all.Airports go crazy as word gets around and everyone wants to get involved. If you are clever and smart enough to not get caught then well done. If you see some fool get caught well, lets see who it is, personally for me if its family or a friend I will go and help them get out for anyone else I'm not going to be choosy you might get lucky you may not. I have been in the position where i have slipped been caught and left to rot as I see fellow members of my family breaking other people who are sleeping and carrying them out, that to me was unacceptible but it showed me just where these peoples loyalties lay. And got me thinking If I ever found myself in a tight spot and I needed this person to get me out could I rely on them? after actions like that I wouldnt think so. So yes, now if I see people in jail ill bust them out, If I see a fellow family member in there I'll help them first, If its someone else you may be waiting a while. In response to the first point made Jail Etiquette will never be around now it is wishful thinking on your part and yes its tough if you do have to wait and see everyone else get help but thats just the way it is now. |

Chuck walks in to the conversation late, but someone understands the situation going on. "I have yet to attempt one of these popular jail breaks, however I do see something that seems conflicting about the current argument. Would not breaking out the mafioso who is attempting, but constantly failing, be more of a benefit to yourself? Maybe I'm just a little confused on the subject however." |

The benefit for YOU, is that the jail is being performed. Don't care about etiquette? Don't care about the rest of the community? Then, you'll find that fewer jails are performed or that you'll have to pay higher prices just to get a crackdown. This certainly doesn't benefit you, whereas, with a little common courtesy, things wouldn't reach such drastic levels. As is, this is a business. We all try to become proficient in all the areas of this way of life to benefit ourselves and our families. If you can't do business in a respectful way, then perhaps you'll find it difficult to be a successful businessperson, as people will choose not to do business with you. That is my point, and as of now, my business will no longer be at your service, unless you want to pay a premium fee. Also, if I am going to subscribe to this "numero uno theory", I should note that any crackdowns purchased from me will be passed along to my friends and family as well. Afterall, it's all about me right? |
