So what do you do for work (A survey) | Started by: DocHoliday on Jan 24, '22 04:53 |
I work for a recycling warehouse. We mainly recycle electronics although once in awhile something else comes up. My job is made of various things. One day I could be wiping electronics. One day I could be rebuilding laptops and desktops. One day I could be loading electronics. While I am doing this, I am sorting out various things to be recycled (not worth the repair.) When it is time to send out recycled items, I coordinate the shipment (after the owner picks which company he is using.) I sort components ahead of time so it goes smoother and can go out faster (in gaylords for the most part.) It is a busy job but I wouldn't want anything else. I have to be kept busy or I get bored. |

I am a freelance editor and business owner. I edit all sorts of business documents, technical writing, essays, creative writing, resumes. You name it, I've probably edited it. I write too when I have time but editing is what pays the bills. If you need any writing or grammar advice, message me and I'd love to help you out. | |

I'm changing work and I'm going to sell insurances for a few months. Like injuries insurances and that stuff. It's always weird selling subscriptions for something you don't actually use. |

I've done many jobs. At age of eighteen, after school i had my first time earning my own cash. It was at a fast food. After serving army and study at the same time, i worked at a high school through a program, supporting an informatics lab. At 26, i had my first permanent occupation for 20 years at an isp. I left and now i work to public sector. |

I'm a student right now, but I already have my perm job contract signed, so I'll talk about that instead. I'm working as an actuarial analyst in pension plans. For those that don't know, in extremely simple terms, actuaries are risk specialists i.e. financial risk, mortality risk, environmental risk, etc. We generally work for insurance companies, but we can do other fields, like credit default risk, casino game creation, etc. I really like my job right now. The office is great, my team is great and I look forward to working on my allocated days. |

My wife is contemplating a career change for me - she believes that i should change jobs to become retired. I am not so convinced about that - in theory, yes, i would retire today if i felt i could; but also i quite enjoy being an accountant, and i quite enjoy being paid for it. |
