What is your idea?

Players should have the ability to block all types of gambling on here if they wish. As someone who has had issues with gambling in the past it is far to easy to block yourself for 300 days but then reduce it down to 12 hours at a click of a button. Gambling addiction is a huge thing and this option should be available. Obviously the credits and money on here aren't 'real' but people are spending money on here and it is far too easy to do and can get out of control. I am sure this is only aimed at a small amount of people but for those few it would help massively. I'm personally banned (through choice) on all online gambling accounts and it isn't the job of izzy or admins to administer gambling, i get that but it would help to have the choice to do this as a recovering gambler.

Has your idea already been suggested in some form or another before? (Check the Suggestions forum for past threads with ideas the same or similar to yours.) only briefly i believe and some steps are in place but i think the 12 hour button is pointless as people can lose before they go to bed, ban themselves for 12 hours, wake up and a few hours later gamble again

helping people with gambling problems the access to not use its features on here and ruin the game for some.

you may get a few people who ban themselves then pester to be unbanned as they think they don't have a problem anymore...the problem will always be there

it shouldn't as the many who have control can still use the gambling features

As the quotes were in reference to partial blocks on different gambling activities, thank you for unlocking the thread.

Gambling is an addiction (as recognized by the medical field), and the current system allows players to block gambling for, effectively, 12 hours, so it is more or less a temporary suspension rather than a true 'block'. 

The system could perhaps be changed to either 1) blocking gambling blocks all gambling, forever, irreversible (either for the account or the character the player decided to block the gambling on), or 2) a variation of the current system where you can not lower the block time down to 12 hours, and if you have decided to block gambling for 1y 4m, you have to finish up that time regardless of whether you changed your mind two days later.

And the permanent block (option 1 or 2) would allow people with no self control to actually avoid gambling, with no option to reverse it. 

Double and if they ask an Admin or whatever to get their gambling block removed -- the answer could be 'nah mate sorry you made your bed now sleep in it innit?'.

I wouldn't mind it being treated like the actual casino wherein you choose 1 week - 1 month - 1 year as your block limits and to remove the block you have to wait a full week, month, or year from whatever date that you choose to lessen the block. While a lot of people here are gambling with money from lounge or what have you, there are those that use real money to purchase credits just to gamble, I will even admit that I've done it in the past. 

I do think there should be a stricter block with a strict explanation of what you're getting and if anyone complains then they're met with pointing at the warnings that this is irreversible, just like all of the other things in the game which use those very same warnings.

That, or, make it so people who have donated real life money on their current character are given the option to irreversible ban and everyone else can still use the reduce to 12 hour thing. Although that may confuse some people and create issues, but I still think creating issues is better than gambling addicts being given such easily reversible options.
