Fiddler Walks in with a bullet proof vest on as he is going to mention those who we shouldnt mention Under CP, times were stable, very few wars, very few takedowns. You knew you could wake up in the morning and life would be good. Yes, sometimes, a rogue would be about, or the CP would get fed up with a non CP leader and kill him. But times were stable. Since they were taken down, people celebrated. Project Mayhem and the alliance were heros. Already legends. Loved for taking down the tyrants. And sicne then, whats happened? TheLoveDoctor Dead Callum Dead WhiskerBiscuit Dead Leadfoot Retires Mr_47 Dead 4 leaders in 9 days. Either killed or retired. We seem to be in uncertain times. And how long is it until those who bitched about the CP start bitching about how they lost their fathers for seemingly no reason (according to them). We are enterting violent times, I feel. And people might start to think, 'were things really that bad under CP.' Thoughts? |

Well, i'm not going to be liked for saying this, but then I remember I was never liked in the first place and I feel much better. But, no rule will ever be different, they are all the same really. Some try and mask what they do. Others make the streets lively and hope that no one understands what is going on. They can sugar coat it all they want. But, it all spells out the same, power. It gets in to their heads and they do not want to loose it. So, what do they do? They get paranoid. After this stage basically the whole thing goes to shit. Each time a person sounds like they are going rogue they die. Each time a person says something that the leaders may not find safe they die. Once the paranoia happens, which thanks to the rogues that pop up from time to time and the addition of the people who died in the war getting their stats back. The paranoia has already set in for this rule. This means that the game will go to shit quicker then even when the CP where in charge. |

Hmmm.... Mr_47 - Died because of his RH's actions. I think Animal explained enough on that topic. leadfoot (Captain) - Retired from the life of crime, can't blame the current leaders for that really, he's living somewhere in the Bahamas now so putting him up there with "Dead" people is just....not cool. Especially when you don't even mention him as one of the leaders who "died" and say "4 leaders in 9 days". WhiskerBiscuit (Captain) - Died because of the below, by the hands of a CP. Callum (Captain) - Decided it was better to listen to CP rather than listening to his leader K-Dawg, and had to fight all the families, including the one he used to be part of, because he felt like it was wise to shoot at Mr. Reese. TheLoveDoctor - ? So, my thoughts... people won't start thinking what you said because; 1. One leader died because of his RH's actions. 2. One Captain Retired from the life of crime. 3. One Captain died in a war. 4. One Captain died because of his own stupidity which caused the death of #3 above. 5. One leader died today. 3 Captains and 2 Leaders in total. 2 of the Captains died due to one of the Captains starting a war that he quite frankly had no authority to start and thus doomed his own crew and jeopardized the lives of K-Dawg's family members with the decision to listen to his "friends" and attack a leader. But wisely enough his own family went against him and thus kept K-Dawg safe. Well done. 1 of the leaders died because of his RH's actions, justified? I think it was. Was there more to it than that? Most likely. TheLoveDoctor died today, reasoning? I don't know, but if you look at the above, all names had a reason for their deaths, so I can only assume there was one for this death as well. So I ask you this, how is this any different from what any Leader would do or any regime when faced with the same shit, why compare this to CP days... when you could basically compared to any other regime in our days? Stability? Of course there will be stability when people had to either kiss ass to stay alive (and died even if they did for some fucked up reason) or were pushed down so far that they did nothing to defend themselves or cared anymore, died in spirit basically. Nice way to get stability right? Break down the very essence of our communities, the people..... Bravo. There's been different times where this place was stable, without too many wars and no bullshit reasons behind any leader deaths, if I was you I'd have picked one of those regimes instead of the CP one as an example, because compared to what happened during the CP reign, those days were like being in heaven, with diversity which the CP days never had. |

A couple of corrections in your post Sir Callum died because he was a csptain not a leader who attempted without his leader's permission or involvement to take down another leader Leadfoot retired because of his Sicilian family needs, not due to enforcement by his leader Whiskerbiscuit was taken out by Callum's rh during Callum's actions stated above I don't know, nor do you the reasons for the others as we are not the leaders but I believe they have been or will be stated. So, this brings your list of 5 down to 2 Quite a difference don't you think? Oh and there are many issues that we may or may not like about the present regime but they allow people to rank on merit not the say so of who likes them or doesn't in the coffeshops and they appoint captains and others who are not only part of their elite group of friends - oh and they treat people decently on the whole Of course, an alliance is going to war a leader who goes against the alliance's wishes or is seen as a threat - this is the mafia not CandyLand but to compare them to some of the CP leaders is just not correct |

Aren't you bored of lying Alessia? Plenty of people ranked on merit in the last regime. Two of them are leaders at the moment. As well as that Leadfoot did, TheLoveDoctor did, Animal did, WhiskerBiscuit's ancestors did, K-Dawg did and Callum did. Ask them how affiliated they are to the CP coffeeshop. The number of people walking our streets is down to 224 by the latest census. I hope the Gods who frequent divinelunacy are slamming this regime for ruining our world, because that is the same number that Al-Gore cited about how terrible the CP had been. Dress it up all you like, call yourself saviours, but those are the numbers and amusingly, they are exactly the same as the lowest figue thrown at the CP. I'd just like to give you a tremendous round of applause. Bravo. |

Fiddler, you seem to have forgotten that when CP set up, they proceeded to kill every captain/leader that was currently up at the time that wasn't on their side. Or did you forget about TheCaptain, Witchyx and BruceCarrol trio where everyone "knew" they were going to die because they were not CP? And that was in February. Since people have already showed you how your logic is flawed by comparing those who have died in such a short period of time recently I won't do it again. But just would like to point out the difference when you have different people ruling their cities, and one group having a big influence over all cities. When you have different personalities set up, and have different agendas, sometimes you will see conflict. Then things will be peaceful, and then another war, etc. It's amazing to me how one group were allowed months of conflict and strife, along with the chance to make things better, and then when the new regime comes in, people say that the old was more "stable". I would think in several months' time things will be "stable" once again as well. But I hope we don't have to wait nearly as long this time around. |

| Mike, by my count the average number of people walking around these parts have been on average 15-20 more people than it was with the last regime. A bunch of people died overnight, and most likely their next of kin have not discovered as of yet that their parents are dead. So you might want to recheck those numbers later. | |

MAny thanks to all those who have contributed sensibly. Valtiant and Alessia, I know full well the reasons behind the recent 'take-downs' and the are justified decisions. I have not forgotten the acts of the CP. taking down all those who threatened, killing all those they were unsure of. I am merely putting off a starting thought to see what peoples thouhgts are. MY opinion on the matter is things never change. Those who celebrated the CP being taken down and hoped for a bright new future were Naive. They are overcome with emotion, but clearly didnt realise, nothing ever changes. Just like CP had their reasons to take down their 'enemies' as does the current regieme. On the other hand, whilst nothing ever really changes, a change is better then remaining the same. Whilst the actions are almost identical, it feels different seeing them from a new group. Just some random thoughts. |

I don't think people were being naive. After all, we are still part of organized crime. i don't think that people thought they were going to go from the mafia to, let's say, gumdrops and butterfly kisses. I have already seen change. Even in conflict, the reasons for war and death were for different reasons, involving different circumstances, with different groups. If you want to say the current regime is just like CP, then you are entitled to it. But I for one am just getting a bit tired of people comparing a regime that was up for months to one that's been up two weeks. |

| Kira, I am not saying the current reigme is the same as the CP (apologies if i have insinuated it), i am merely saying, after so many deaths of leaders in the past week, what are peoples thoughts? | |

It is a regime change and things will be unstable for a while, the deaths of all these leaders whilst unsettling and creating imbalance in the streets were inevitable with idiots at the helm. The one thing that can't be disputed is the userbase, something like 200 sponsored players, lowest in MR history. Even the tyrannical CP didn't create that sort of exodus. Yes the online count is a bit higher at certain times of the day. All that means is the same people are online all the time whilst the rest of the userbase is being ignored. Hypocrisy anyone? Don't look for things to get better. |

| Tis a fact TheWoods but as pointed out earlier in the post it has been barely 24 hours since all these people died so too soon to judge whether they are back and not joined someone yet or just aren't back yet, considering it hasn't even been 9 hours since TLD was killed, that number can hardly be judged yet when most don't know they are dead yet for their son or daughter to arrive. And I believe this discussion is going to end up in OOC | |

So Woods, since you're God (not the gods but the "one God"), and since you have proclaimed that nothing will get better, what do you propose that we should do? Cause surely with such a statement like you said, you have a solution to get us out of the mess that we are in currently? |

You've made the bed, your duty to sleep in it. Even if TheLoveDoctor was still alive with 50 members, that is still 208 sponsored, still ridiculously low. Nice of you to address me as a god though. |

Glad to see that the art of sarcasm isn't lost on you, Woods. The fact of the matter is, discussions such as this I believe create negativity. Sure, you can get people's opinions on it, but we already know how people feel, because we have been doing this for 2 weeks now. We read in the paper recently how the leaders feel. So why do we still need to talk about it, without doing anything about it? |
