Brooklyn, 1985.

Tony was just 19 when Don DeLuca called him in. His brother had run up gambling debts, and the Don gave Tony two options: pay up or work it off. So Tony took a bat to a guy behind a butcher shop. It was messy, fast, and over in 30 seconds.
Afterwards, DeLuca clapped a hand on his shoulder.
“You’ve got a steady hand, kid. I like that.”
That was the day Tony stopped being a Marino and became “Silk.”

Assuming we're not including internships, my first job was working as a sales associate for a clothing store. At first, it was only part-time, but after six months, I switched to full-time. It was by far my least favorite working experience... And I spent five years there... Besides the good friends I made from working there, I don't look back on those days fondly.

First job was 14 at 31 flavors and working for my uncle on the weekends as a labor..fun times those many years ago 

the first job i had was at a restaurant called the pine cone. it was a low key place but great for someone in school at the time. I actually had to get a work permit.  aint that something. 

My first job was when I was 9. My father had hired me to help him strip and revarnish gym floors. I did that for 2 years with him. After that time when I was almost 12 the school board paid me 5k to do the work and my dad did other repairs in the school. I remember getting the money and my dad pulled some out saying it was taxes. He opened a separate account under my name (child account) and deposited money from my cheques there.  He gave me the money later on in life for other things I needed.

My first job was working in a mechanic’s yard. I learned almost nothing but I did get to eat noodles with a boiled wrench. I also watched the guys put a steel drum in a fire. We all sat around in deck chairs and waited for it to go off. It must have gone 60 feet into the air. A memorable time. 

my first job was as a busboy at a pizza joint. i was 16, there was a waitress there that constantly tried to fuck me even though it was illegal, she was in her  late 20s. still dont know if i was the dummy or if she was a creep, prolly a bit of both. she was cute afterall.

At the local butcher. Was still one of the best jobs I've had with a great lunch everyday as we we're allowed to pick anything from the store 😁

My first job as an IT implementer for a hospital information system was both challenging and exciting. My main task was to deploy the system across multiple hospital sites; installing software, configuring servers, and ensuring smooth data migration.  

I also conducted training sessions for staff, adapting my approach, some doctors preferred quick shortcuts, while administrators needed detailed guides. Routine maintenance taught me the importance of proactive checks to avoid system crashes during peak hours.  

first job was a busboy at a pizza restaurant. it was ok, the ownership was ass... constantly catching thier younger family members in small spaces and closets high af on coke. rumors of dope dealing.... they stole tips and shit on employees regularly.... on the plus side i was under 18 and there was a nearby high school football field and they raided the place every friday.... met a lot of cool people my age and got laid a lot out of it which made up for the shit pay. wierdest thing was a hot waitress that was 10 years older than me constantly hit on me. 

I worked in a grocery store bakery and helped in the deli too. I was the night time associate and things were usually pretty quiet. Wasn't bad, just not many hours :)

Worked at a Kroger till I saved up for my first car and was able to find better opportunities elsewhere. I liked my boss and coworkers so working there was enjoyable.

My first job was delivering news papers

That pretty much sucked so it didnt last long, then i got a job washing dishes, that was alot better.

This probably sounds like something your grandfather would say, but it's true. My first job was working in a farmer's fields when I was 14 years old.  I could make up to $30 per day and I felt like I was rich. This guy owned a ton of land and he would just pay all the local kids under the table to hoe the fields and pick the crops when it was time.

my first job was working in the tobacco. I've done it since I was a little kid. It was all year-round job. Even today, I'm getting a tobacco check from the Kentucky warehouse. If you grow tobacco or my tobacco on my leases, I get 40% of whatever you make. It's best not to get mad that I got 40% of what you made off the crop. When I was 24 years old, my grandfather told me we could grow all the back we want cause I bought the tobacco leases. If you got mad I got my 40% they probably take your tobacco from because it's grown on my land.

My first "job" was selling coffee, basically. My brother used to work for a company that was doing export/import on these kinds of things and he would be able to buy a package or two for me (at an wholesale price), so I would go around with my friend, door to door and knock, trying to sell come coffee, was not too crazy, but I would buy for 48$ and sell for 60$ and more but it would take some time as I would have to sell piece by piece and then order a new package, was fun and I did make some extra cash.
