Regarding Vic Mackey Started by: Iris on Jul 02, '08 02:08
She feels her cheeks burn with their growing redness. The memories of last night's jailhouse escapades fresh in her mind..

My Darling Vic,

Here I am me, myself, and I sitting at my desk staring out the window. Last night had me feeling like I was in teenland. I must admit that the rush brought on the urge to kiss you when it's dangerous.

You were there for me to lean on when I almost fell. I just wanted you to stay with me a little bit longer.

You are a fool if you think it's over. As always, I am by your side through thick and thin.

I will be in New Orleans this evening, I do hope you find the time to join me. I can promise you that there will be rumours flying around if you do.

Can't wait to see you,

Iris

Out on business in Las Vegas, Vic_Mackey decides to take a break from his routine to write a reply to the Java Kingpin in Philadelphia

Dear Iris,

Last night in New Orleans was simply amazing. You expressed yourself beautifully yesterday. Dancing in the street, making money as if it was falling off trees, and getting thrown in jail before sunrise.. What a day. Things are busy in Las Vegas, but when this letter gets to you, I'll probably already be in Philly. Hopefully, you won't be out on business and still be here. The past few days have been fantastic, it's like..you've dropped a bomb on me. If you're here, hopefully Bubba won't get in the way between us.

I'm looking forward to our next meeting in New Orleans, but seeing as that's a few days away, I thought I'd stop by Philly and see how you were doing. I know I have a bad reputation for being absent for long periods of time, but I plan to change that. I'm looking forward to a beautiful day in Philly, and I'm praying you'll be there. I honestly think I'm going paranoid about you. Anyway, I have to head off and go do some business with one of the nearby heroin dealers.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

With barbaric love,

Sitting in her New Orleans hotel room she recieves a phone call, it is her trusted right hand Domino reading her a letter from her beloved. Rushing to her window seat she begins to write.

My Darling,

It has been too long since I heard from you. Without you I feel as if I should be spelling SOS on a deserted beach somewhere in the Caribbean. You are truly the light of my life. I feel naked without you. New Orleans isn't the same when you aren't here. I waited alone in Philly as long as I could but pressing business demanded my presence in the deserted city. I hope there will be some control in place soon.

I hope you can meet me here before the night is over, I feel empty and without a soul when you are not beside me. Bubba is calling my name but I am resisting as it is not the same when you aren't here to save me.

Come soon my love, I am missing you. You are too sexy and have claimed the title of Cowboy of My Heart.

With all of my heart,

Iris

On his flight back to Los Angeles, Vic_Mackey is informed that Iris, who was out on business, has landed in Philadelphia shortly after Vic's takeoff. Grieved, he begins penning Iris a letter.

Dear Iris,

This letter is being written on a plane, so excuse the writing if it starts to look poor.

I was very heartbroken to find you vacant at your headquarters, I'm honestly starting to wonder how I'm supposed to live without you. I just feel like breaking free from the shackles of business and jumping around when I'm near you.

I feel like sometimes this business is trying to sabotage our relationship, or a stranglehold.

I can't wait to catch you in Philly, dear.

Until mana,

She braces herself against the door to her private suite in Los Angeles and locks the door.

God, just a half hour, that's all I ask... A few moments to sit down and let my love know that I am thinking of him, that I haven't forgotten our passion.. That the cheese is still close to my heart.

She picks up her pen and paper, ignoring the ringing phone and knocks on her door.

Dearest Vic,

I am sitting here waiting for the stars to come out so I can wish for you to come home to me.

I went by your office but they said you were at the dentist in Chicago. Once again we are denied each other's company.

I was in New Orleans again last night doing the jailhouse rock. It wasn't the same without you.

I am sorry it has taken so long to get back to you.. I have no excuses.

All my love,

Iris

Rotating his jaw back and forth, after a heavy dose of anesthesia and a hefty amount of drilling courtesy of his dentist, Vic slowly walks into his Chicago hotel room, slumping on his bed and giving off a deep sigh. Looking across the small yet classy hotel room, he notices a letter on the table across from the couch.. Getting up, grabbing the letter, a piece of paper, and a pen, Vic_Mackey slumps back onto the corner of the bed, leaning against the wall it was located near. After reading the letter, he picks up his pen and starts writing, trying not to drool on the paper.

Dear Iris,

Say it isn't so, love. Once again, I find myself alone again. Other than being without you and losing self esteem, today was a pretty good day overall. I had my routine cleaning at the dentist, which then required me to go under anesthesia via some opiates. Hydrocodone is a hell of a drug. Anyway, I keep forgetting to ask you for a new shipment of coffee beans. You've got my entire crew hooked on them. Just one of your more devious schemes to take down Los Angeles, I would guess. Nonetheless, the coffee is fantastic.

Oh, how I miss the days where we would spend the entire day with each other, busting one another out of jail and seeing the sights of the various cities we were jailed in. If you only knew how much I miss you, then maybe you'll maybe know how I feel when I get left in the middle of nowhere without you. It's so hard staying alive without you.

Anyway, I have to go before the hydrocodone hits me. I'll probably be knocked out for awhile, I just hope I don't end up like that other guy.

Missing you always,

-- Vic Mackey

Sealing the letter and getting his trusted bodyguard Reggie to deliver it to the post office, the drugged leader of Los Angeles stoops down and rolls over sideways on his bed, with his final thought before his conscious left him pondering when his letter would be received.

Rushing to the door when the envelope is slid under her door she jumps around like a teenage girl. After reading the words of her love she calls her bean man in Philly and has him set aside twenty pounds of her finest beans for Vic's family and asks him to also visit the bakery for some of Vic's favorite cookies. Picking up a bowl of chocolate covered espresso beans she hops onto her bed.

Dear Vic,

You do not know the joy that hearing from you brought to me. I saw boarding a plane to Chicago earlier, I guess you didn't hear me shout "Jump into my car". Alas you did not hear me. Don't you wish we could just start all over some days, just be together rather than having gone our separate ways? I guess our dream of being together forever is nothing but dust in the wind.

I am missing you more every day that we are apart. I close my eyes and dream a little dream of you.

I can't wait until we can be swinging on a star together.

You are in my dreams,

Iris

Still in his Chicago hotel, after being unconscious for more than 20 hours, Vic slowly climbs out of his bed, trying to shake off the druggy feel of last night after being under the wrath of analgesics the other night courtesy of his dentist. Walking around the small hotel room, he notices a strong smell of coffee beans permeating throughout the room; There was a small package on the kitchen counter, which, upon further inspection, was the requested coffee beans Vic had requested earlier in the day when he wrote his letter. Shaking himself awake and preparing himself a pot, he notices an unopened envelope by the dresser, with the familiar scribble of Iris appearing on the front of the envelope. Next to it, a small note from his bodyguard informing of a missed date planned a few weeks ago that was supposed to be in Philadelphia. Picking up his pen and taking one of the small boxes of cookies Iris had delivered, knowing full well that it contained the drug he had just been weaned off of, he begins to write his reply.

Dear Iris,

Minute by minute, all day and all night, I have been trapped in what feels like my own prison, courtesy of the anesthesia I foolishly accepted when going under.

Now that it's over, (and, with every bite of these cookies, at the beginning again), I wanted to apologize about missing our date in Philadelphia. The drugs completely knocked me out, and for that I am truly sorry. I'll do anything to make it up to you. I don't think you know how badly I need you.

Remember the day before I went to Los Angeles to purchase my headquarters, sitting outside of Philadelphia, breaking into houses and making false arrests while you went around back and stole their merchandise and had your bodyguards carry it off into their cars? What a day that was..

Even though I've said that our business is killing our relationship, we're stronger than this. Business shouldn't get between us, even if we do reside across the country.

Anyway, I wanted to apologize and to ask you when all's well, to do this again, correctly this time.

I hope all is well in Philly, and I look forward to hearing from you.

-- Vic Mackey

Finished penning the letter and handing it to his bodyguard for delivering, Vic slumps to his bed after serving himself the freshly brewed coffee that he prepared and putting the box of opioid cookies under the floorboard of the hotel room, saving them for a rainy day in Chicago
