| I'd have to say Costello or Gambino. Both were able to die of old age, both had brains. Gambino was illegal the whole time in the United States. Costello could talk to anyone, and made a lot of money. | |

Gambino stayed out of the papers and you have to admit that thats true old school. No attention wanted free to operate. Gambino was at the height of power with over 800 men in his organization. Luciano he is the creator of what we have today and the most famous of all. Both men sit at the topof my list. |

| I'd say Luciano wins hands down. But like on here - you can't make it alone. He had alot of friends and made the right connections and he got out of it alive (was deported, versus getting clipped.) | |

Considering everything Bonnano probably had the best go of it when you consider the fact that the dude was around for the founding of the Commission, participated and survived in multiple wars through the 30s-60s and managed to retire in relative peace for the rest of his life. Dude outlived every member of the original Commission, the rise and fall of Pablo Escobar, and was a month shy of outliving John Gotti. |

| I’d have to go with frank lucas cause why not ? Man was moving dope through coffins throughout all the states “ allegedly “ if that’s true man top tier thinking from him . Also killing people in daylight was savage . Then again I guess all the monsters did that . Fuck it maybe it’s just a tie through all of them really :P frank is alive and a free man though . I'd say Arrnold Rothstein, Lucky Luciano and Mayer Lansky. Arnold 'The Brain' Rothstein was very influential. He was a mentor for Luciano and Lansky which says a lot about his power and influence. Luciano and Lansky can be credited for wiping out the old bosses in NY, ending the Castellammarese war and organising the mob into the powerhouse it was. Before this, there was no Mob in America just small unorganised groups of mafiosi from Sicily fighting small unorganised groups of Camorra from Naples. Luciano and Lansky with Rothstein's guidance created the National Crime Syndicate by organising the gangsters into families and killing anyone who stood in there way. |

Al capote was a brute just ruled with violence which is good but then you get people hating you.in the windy city he was top boss of the Chicago Outfit until tax evasion caught up with him bye bye ally boy. Charles 'lucky' Luciano ran the what is now called then Genovese Family. Lucky on the other hand had the violence but was a smart man indeed living the last of his days back in the sunny Mountains of Italy. The real boss of bosses must be Carlo Gambino the lion true mobster dieing of natural causes, you don't see the mafia like how it was in the 1920-1980s such asame to many turncoat out there. |

There is this guy who runs a donut place near where I live and I'm pretty sure he has some sort of mafia connections, cause the donuts there are pretty bad but it's still open. He gave me a free bag of chips once though so I think that puts him up there with the best, doing positive things for your community is important, folks. |

Carlo Gambino never spent a day in prison and ran the commission died in bed Meyer Lansky never spent a day in prison and was one of the richest gangsters died in bed Tony Accardo, Joe Bonnano and Tommy Luccesse bosses that never went to prision yet were respected and feared. |
