| Philly and NO New Step. | Started by: JimmyTheLionHeart on Feb 20, '09 17:15 |

Jimmy "The Lionheart" leaned back in his chair on the patio of the small streetside cafand looked over the railing into the busy cross streets of Philadelphia. Big changes had already happened and big changes were still coming. Jimmy stared thoughtfully for a moment and then turned to look at the four leaders who sat in front of him. Otis Driftwood and Stormvind of Philadelphia, and his New Orleans affiliates, Munchkin and Sal Giaquinto. "Things are far from settled from the move, and yet there's no time to wait to move forward. We've discussed the plans, and I think now is the moment we act. Now with the ports opened in New Orleans, making the drug trade there very lucrative, and with Philadelphia still being a very profitable place to do business, its time we keep more of the money from our cities, in our own cities." Jimmy placed his palms on the white linen tablecloth before continuing. "So the plan is this. We encourage commerce in our cities. I want Philadelphia and New Orleans to be bastions of booming commerce. But, their economic prosperity shouldn't come absolutely scott-free to people not in our families. Nothing in life is free." "From now on, all visitors ranked Made Man or higher to Philadelphia and New Orleans must pay a weekly tax if they expect to continue to make money in our cities. The proposed $100,000 for individuals or $1 million per family, per city is what we'll go with at this point. We may renegotiate the exact numbers at a later time. Basically, if a buttoned member is going to be making money in our city, we need a piece of that pie. I'm tired of watching Philadelphia money go all over the country, and now with us taking New Orleans, the time to act is now." Jimmy looked around the table to the nodding heads. Of course they'd discussed all the details earlier. Now was just the final confirmation of the plan they'd all agreed upon. "Then it is agreed. Beginning this Friday, anyone ranked Made Man or higher planning to visit our cities will have to pay a very small price for their assured economic prosperity. Sal -" Sal Giaquinto sat up in his seat. "Sal, you're my front man in New Orleans. Individuals and families will wire the money for this new tax directly to you if they want to come to New Orleans. Get someone in charge of keeping accurate records, will ya? I wanna know about any 'accidents' that happen, or people who 'forget' to pay. Otis -" Otis Driftwood followed Sal's example, and sat up, paying rapt attention to the Godfather. "Otis, you'll be taking collections for Philadelphia. Same for you. I want to know about anyone who has 'memory' issues about making payments. If they're in our cities, they're there making money. If they are visiting our city and haven't paid?" Jimmy drew a finger across his neck slowly, while Sal, Otis, Stormvind and Munchkin and DonnieTheLionHeart laughed in their seats. "Any questions?" |

I agree with my beard and we both find this to be an excellent business venture for the two cities. Thank you very much for allowing us the few more free days of criming, Godfather Jimmy. I will use this time to woo Munchkin. |

Steps between The Beard, Munchkin, and RourkeyRourke. My friend, RourkeyRourke, if you wish to woo munchkin, by all means, proceed. But I think it would be better that The Beard not be a part of it. I don't think anyone knows where that thing's been, let alone you. As far as this announcement goes, I'm glad to see that the resources of New Orleans booming drug trade and the upscale 7-11s in Philly will not be taken advantage of without the Godfather getting his rightful cut. We are mafiosos, not delinquents in search of handouts. It is only proper respect to pay for privileges generously granted from those in control of a city like this. |

Sir, I noticed you mentioned that things shouldn't be free for people who are not in your family, but considering that you already get a percentage of each crime done in Philly and that Thomas will be getting that same percentage over crimes in New Orleans, it isn't exactly free is it? So as I see it, this is an extra fee over the already taxed crimes. Anyhow, FrankieFigs and I will be discussing this matter later today and will let you know wether or not NY will paying this tax. |

| If someone isn't planning on making money in your city, can they still fly there? Or is this an entry fee for the Made Men and above? | |

| This fee is established only for those of the mademan stature and above sir. | |

Young Pork asked a fair question. If, for example, I was in urgent need to travel to Philly or New Orleans to ehm..let's say "take care of business", should I be expected to pay the fee? I know it sounds completely unrealistic that someone of Made Man or above spend their whole time in these cities and not commit a single crime but I just thought the question needs addressing. As for the new tax, I must admit it took me by surprise. It's poses a dilemma for myself. As a fairly new family, will my Made guys earn enough in a week in these two cities to warrant paying the weekly tax? I appreciate the extra few days before we can make our decision. One thing I will say, it's an interesting move. One that will cause great debate and after all, isn't that what we all want around here?? |

| As noted by Stapled, I think you misunderstood me Jimmy. I know it's MM+, I meant, what if they don't "crime" in the city. | |

A lesson that was taught to me at a very young age was never to push around those who are bigger than you because it will come back at you twice as hard. With that in mind, good luck with your endeavour. |

I am not an unrealistic man Stapled that Is why we put the individual tax there. One can and may pay the individual price if they want. But to make things easier should you need to deal with an urgent matter such as a member of yours or rogue or so forth then we can let that pass as long as a notice is sent to Myself for philly or Sal for For New Orleans. |

| I can only speak for New Orleans in this matter - given the circumstance and the knowledge that out of pride many of you will boycott my home, it's Mardi Gras soon and taxation will be postponed until Wednesday. It gives y'aa ample time to consider where you stand, all while enjoying such a wonderful city - one of profit and tradition. | |

It is a well thought through method of bringing about some of the real traits of our culture and lifestyle. Though I may not be happy to have to shill out, I can't say I wouldn't do the same myself. Best of luck to you, Godfather. |

After hearing the announcement by Godfather Jimmy, Cruel pushes his way through the crowd to have his two cents worth I would understand if you imposed a 'sleeping' tax or shooting tax within the cities, but this is too extreme. Wanting people's money for simply visiting the cities?!! I think that is truly unbelieveable and selfish. How do you expect these cities to blossom if people are being made to pay extortionate prices to just visit!?!? Shocking. |
