I think I found it completely by accident, when searching for mmorpg lists. But my most recent return was because some old friends were playing again and it was great to be able to see them in-game again!

Once upon a time—long, long ago—I remember playing a mafia game on some web page. Now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t remember what it was called or even how it was played, because my memory can be foggy. But I remembered wanting to play that game, so I searched online for a mafia game I could play. And that, kids, is how I met your mother. I found Mafia Returns.

been playing off and on for last number of years across a variety of families and characters. love the mafia theme, roleplay aspects and prospect of moving up the ranks of a mob family. That said, I prefer families who follow the old school mob rule over some of the more silly, random killing of crews and families over stupid shit I have seen lately.

I joined to make good friends in which I have and haven't stopped laughing outside the game Especially on a Nightshift it breaks up the night

I came over from .org and I don't remember exactly why. I think at the time it was like, "do you miss when .org was good?" "come on down to MR and you can experience joy again in your life". Though I can't say for sure cause I was...a child basically at the time. 8th grade - however old you are in 8th grade (the first time). 

I have played similar games in the past and after years of not playing any i searched back but all the ones i played closed down. So i googled for text based mafia games, saw the voting sites and clicked on the number one listed for mafia text based.

I'm not even sure. I was on a hackforums.net a while back in like 2009, and a friend from there introduced me to this game. I've been on and off since then mainly off. Hard to know whos who now as names have changed and fa shit load of features 

I was looking for an old mafia game I played years ago but it is nowhere to be found when I ran across this game and decided to give it a try.We will see how it goes..Wish me luck

When one of my friends got into it and then roped the rest of us into it. That was back in 2003-04 kinda hard to recall exactly which year it was but I distinctly recall playing it in high school on the library computers and getting our characters killed because we forgot to report ip sharing!

I've been playing this game since 2014 ish. I always find my way back after year or so of hiatus. I make a run, spend more money to support. then leave again for a year lol. I am in another one of those cycles. 

I played a couple of similar games as a kid but when I went to look for them a little later on they had both died. So I tried to find something similar and MR was the one that came the closest to what I remembered.
