This is funny how I stumbled on this ancient thread. The people were discussing Facebook and their enjoyment with it. Now we have so many more types of social media and Facebook is on this level that is massive. I deleted all my social media recently but sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on so much, actually I always feel like that. 

yet with all the newness of Facebook, let’s bring up this ancient question, “What do you think about Facebook?” 
 

for me, it’s honestly too much. I felt like I’m not living the best possible life constantly comparing myself to others. Then getting flustered every 4 years when I realize how people can be so mean over political differences. Then I realize, no one really cared what I posted or did and that was confirmed when I have told numerous “friends” that I actually don’t have social media and they said, “oh I didn’t realize that.” I feel it’s harmful and I feel bad watching so many young people live this life trying to main a social identity constantly.

The days were much more simple back in the MySpace era. Music, an app to get thousands of friends you've never spoken to before, an emo like background for your profile. Those were the days.

Wow, I didn't realize how old this thread was until I saw Cav reference MySpace. But in truth, MySpace was way better. Facebook has become such a shithole of idiots and misinformation that I can't stand going on there. I don't think I've logged on in over a month, and the only reason I did then is because sometimes it's the only way I can reach people.  I loved it when it first came out. I think we need to go back to sharing pictures of our dinner and/or cats again. (Hopefully they are not one and the same)

I personally hate facebook. I have always saw it as a social media for old people. (40+) The only reason I have a twitter account is to follow people that I've followed since I was a kid.
