Stand your ground, or tow the line? Started by: ZeQ on Apr 02, '15 10:47

"I can understand the train of thoughts that led to the takedown of all former or current 303 members. I'm not on that train, but I understand."

Weebl saw the crowd turning towards him as he made his way forward. Having listened to this flaming debate he felt the need to say something as well. Weebl cleared his throat before addressing the crowd who's around.

"I am society. I am a friend. I am a leader. I am a servant.
I am Weebl, the sum of my responsibilities in this life.

Whatever choice I could have made regarding Azingy, I would betray a part of me.
Whatever choice I could have made that night, it would hurt one or more people who mean a lot to me.

I made a choice and I have to live with the idea of betraying my friend. Because I feel that's what I did by letting happen what happened. It is for no one to tell me I did the right thing as it is for none to tell me I did wrong. I feel the same counts for Father_TeQ and his actions. As goes for the decisions BlackBetty had to make. Each of us made a decision they felt was unavoidable with regards to the sum of their responsibilities. We were all given the choice who we'd let down. Sadly there were many moments this could have been prevented and there are many people responsible for the fact that we didn't.

For those this closely involved, with multiple responsibilities, there was no right choice to make. From a distance you can have your easy opinions, but each and everyone of us would lose something very valuable that night. We all had to make difficult decisions."

Before taking back his place in the crowd, Weebl decides to make a last remark towards ZeQ.

"And please ZeQ, tone it down with your comments about Bella Vista. You don't know of all relations and work that happens here. It is true that we lost a lot with the demise of Azingy, Tea, Bee, Rory and your father, but besides that it's not true, you're stepping over a line by stating Bella Vista's heart is ripped out, that it's rotten to the core. Such remarks add nothing to the point you want to discuss here; the injustice you see in the decision of society's leaders to punish all those associated to 303. Please focus on that and stop disrespecting my family, district and Godmother."

Kasuma just stood there and listened. His jaw dropped when the young ZeQ spoke. Everyone around stood speechless. Out of no where someone yells..

"RKO OUTTA NO WHERE"

He wasn't sure what was going on.

Thank you Barry for answering my question. I greatly appreciate it.

Although there is one troubling thing I have continued to see in this discussion. If you were targeting all former 303 members why are there some still left standing in the aftermath? Would this not be universal if what is being suggested was truly taking all the associates that once bore those tags at some point to their deaths?

Needless to say, I agree with Father_TeQs actions. He gave his word and actually brought honor to it, few people would have done the same.

Quite a few chicken shit things went on last night that further proves incog is a necessity and NOBODY should be forced to give up their ancestors names so you can unfairly discriminate against them (I could give a fuck less which city). Without incog certain people will be held responsible for people's actions that they had no part in, no matter how hard they've been working.

Paranoia wrecks the minds of the weak, quite a few people have proven to be train wrecks. You could say people who go incog are paranoid but an unfair trend is growing against certain bloodlines. When it's all but guaranteed you'll get lumped into someone else's actions it is no longer paranoia but a reality.

The only reason I am here is because you bothered to come here to trash Philadelphia and someone that's supposed to be your friend, BlackBetty. This is my business because it concerns decisions made by where my personal allegiance is, Philadelphia. I would've stayed out of it if you had kept it more theoretical (less targeted towards any single person or city), honestly less martyr-y, and disrespectful to the concept of Omerta.

Retiring is not a tool for escaping Omerta, at least if you want to be respectable. If Father_TeQ's son is to be used as a tool to breach it, then his life is being used improperly. Retirement is supposed to be used to move on, for Father_TeQ's son to have a new life, but clearly you're the same as your father, right? And you're permeating your father's break in trust as if it was your own.

I didn't expect you to reply to me, unless I was harsh because of your stubborn ways, and so I can know now I've gotten through to you now in your reply. Thank you for that, but I didn't come to speak here for your benefit in reality. I came in advocate your friend that you've been maligning, in this fantastic show you've created out here, when she's far from blame. The only way to do that is to pick apart what you've done and said.

There's a "fence sitter" nature to this world which we should all be able to accept due to the fact that it is a small community, and there are "politics" we have to adhere to even if at the same time there are discussions on what is more practical and real. There are also times when you don't want to disagree with friends, for the sake of politics and otherwise. It is a game of chess, and who really knows what colour anyone on the board is, or what piece they are? It should be noted that anything that comes to me via intel is fact checked so, it's quite obvious to me when people have tried to warmonger for their own benefit. People do that all the time to leaders and otherwise. The Loop is dead because of Intel that checked out. I may have people who call me names or dislike me or both (and that only strokes my ego, because you need to be hated a bit, to be what I would consider noteworthy), but they are far few in actuality from those that know where my loyalty truly is, especially in terms of those that really matter (to me), those that I put a firm belief in. If I am loyal, it is clear. I am loyal to my actual friends; they know what colour I am, even in this grey grey world of ours. We may try our best at all times to make it black and white in our minds and that's how we get set in our ways and form our opinions which usually hold strong even in storms because we all have egos, but at the end of the day, unless someone is really your friend, it's all grey. Once you realize that this world is grey, aside from those few colours (or lackthereof) you can pluck out (usually those who are your friends or family, and you are quite fortunate if you are able to find them), you realize this world's definition of loyalty is very slim while everything else out side of that in terms of disloyalty is quite vast. Loyalty is the most important thing to us here because it’s the only thing that can vividly make a person’s true colours distinct. The only time that friendship comes in the way of this is when it goes directly against Omerta of a family, if you are separated in different cities with different values and the like. If you've been around long enough, you've been caught on both ends of that, even in a clique there are disagreements or people that like someone within that clique more than they like another. If you've been around long enough, you also know not to be dogmatic about someone's colour (or lackthereof) all the time, but that’s when bloodline history gets called into question. At the moment, you're playing drama queen on your father’s behalf, for a color I can't identify, but it's clearly not one that's loyal to Philadelphia, or BlackBetty, and that’s what’s truly wrong about this. It’s almost like adding in red checkers chip to a chess game.

It can't all be white and clean, except for say in a small clique, sometimes. That is in fact why 303 did work effectively for a period of time, because they were and are a group of friends, and there was no question of which side they were on. There is true danger in friendship, and true beauty, true famiglia. When our lines were younger, there were far more of what I would consider to be families. Today it is far more… grey. I'm sure most could think of few specifics ones... There are plenty of others still at play to this day, and sure some of them are still friends, but politically many, like yourself even, have moved on from historical groups, yet still hold some friendly ties. You in fact have your own active personal clique, with a name even, that's supposed to be a group of friends, but look at what you're doing here to one of them because of a choice they had to make due to politics and circumstances.

I have some sympathy to those who died (only the innocent ones) because well shit like that sucks, dying sucks for anyone except examples like you here because you derive pleasure out of it since it’s a means to go and do something like this. You came out here completely out of line, breaking several codes of what Omerta, family, and even what life is about. When someone does even just a bit of that in an argument, even if they're a little right in a debate (which I will admit, you started off as somewhat morally right, but then it took a heavy turn), they lose all credibility, and it becomes very easy to lose what could've been a fair argument. It's all about the (quality of the) performance, and not just if someone is passionate about it. Someone can still suck on stage and be tone deaf.

I could've gone the complete other way and sided with you against the actions of genociding 303, but I didn't for a few reasons: Your judgement is clouded; rules were made clear, and it was generally known that the shit could go down for even a small slip. However, I will admit bias because I know that 303 in many ways is not dead in its actions/motives and so I lost plenty of sympathy regarding them being taken out with that knowledge. You are not currently in "the know" of this world, which makes this infraction against your friend, BlackBetty, all the more a joke. You may not like/want or agree with my opinion, and you may have your own warped opinions, but please do know you have shown yourself to have no sense of real allegiance in terms of Omerta (or several other standards or concepts of loyalty to a city or district). It is only to and for your own prerogative, thus I cannot find myself sitting on a fence. I'm telling you and the world (since they're the ones that matter our here) in public that, in my personal opinion, your position and debating, against Philadelphia and New York's decision as well as against BlackBetty your former Godmother who entrusted you as a right hand, is straight up reprehensible for those reasons. What you have furthermore proven here is that you turn on your friends when you decide to go on a self-righteous charge for the sake and benefit of "humanity" aka your ego.

Is my opinion important to you? No, it doesn't have to be. You don't even have to listen, but in terms of a debate, I've said what needed to be said from my end in this public discussion you should probably never have brought to the streets.

Cin, do you really want more people do die? Do you want to be the one to name who they are? I’d hope not. There’s been enough blood.

Incog isn’t the way to go ButchCoolidge. People, on all sides, just need to learn to move on and have their children genuinely play a straight and narrow. They need to be loyal to their family, and city first. They need to mature and follow standards.

Report Post Tip
Your last statement confused me a little (much). People did just that and they still died, so perhaps going incognito is the only way forward for these people?
Report Post Tip

All or none I suppose need to change. Or I guess renouncement of affiliation. I had previously stated that I really don't have a great solution for them, but I've been contemplating helpful hints that might be in the right direction.

Report Post Tip

MrSpikeS, do I want more people to die? No. However, I would like to understand why certain people that formerly wore the tag weren't included in this. Personally, and this is just from the things I have been told, I think this is just something that will go on for longer than it needs to.

I am not blaming a particular side. Both will have their own faults in the matter and I really wish I could come up with a way that would end what seems like an unnecessary problem. Yes the current leadership is reacting to the actions of the former reign (not all of them but a few) and yes it is affecting majority of that former reign except for an odd few. What makes those odd few so special? If you cannot be sure about a few, what makes the current standing ones more trustworthy?

I honestly believe that this is going to fuel nothing but hostility for awhile. Something in which I am not a fan of seeing. It is sort of like when you chose to attack particular bloodlines repeatedly. They get kind of tired of trying to change minds. Some will go on to change minds but others will fall into what is believed of them. This is something I can see happening from this situation as well.  This is something I really hope doesn't happen.

Barry was nice enough to answering my questions previously. To which I was very appreciative of.

It's not that I want to see more people die MrSpikeS, it's that I want to try to understand all aspects in hopes that at some point this whole thing can be laid to rest. Buried grudges, and buried retaliation alike.

Report Post Tip
And I really fail to see how affiliation was an issue here? As stated before, these Philadelphia members were all loyal and true to their district, one being asleep during the war, the other actively helping, wait for it.. On your side!

And what is there to renounce? That another guy from a city took a shot at someone not even part of Philadelphia?
Report Post Tip

It was really a rhetorical question Cin. I'm not really sure why not all were killed. Maybe they all weren't easily available due to incogs or something. But as long as no more bloodshed is wanted, that's good, and yes, this genocide will fuel some hostility for a bit, but I guess there's still fuel on the fire that needs to burn off before the flames are gone. Maybe this will expedite it and not leave it sitting there like a dormant cancer.

This is quite possibly the most hilarious thing I have ever heard somebody attempt to say and be taken seriously saying on these streets ever, Cin. Your bloodline is possibly the one that we could vote least likely to ever bury and get over ANYTHING, let alone a fucking grudge, and yet here you are saying others should?

Freyja rolls her eyes.

Lead by example, Cin. If you want to see people making the effort to get over things, try and get over your own problems and dramas first.

What you have furthermore proven here is that you turn on your friends when you decide to go on a self-righteous charge for the sake and benefit of "humanity" aka your ego.

Did he turn on his friends, or did his friends turn on him? Maybe, in your opinion, he betrayed BlackBetty by retiring. But by doing so he defended another friend? Without the initial 'betrayal' of Azingy being shot at from within his own district, would Father_TeQ have turned on BlackBetty and his city/district? I doubt it.

Thus, has TeQ been betraying his friends (and their trust in him) or did his friends betray him (and his trust)?

I really doubt this has that much to do with his ego.

I must say I was a bit amused by your comment, Freyja. It appears you're holding some sort of grudge towards Cin, judging by your reply to her.

No shit, Minamoto?

Report Post Tip

Hmm, bit hypocritical then, don't you think? Bit pointless too, really. Personally I think Cin here actually asked some good questions and gave some good advice, for once.

Maybe a sign that this topic has been..  milked dry..

Report Post Tip

Nah, I'm not the one trying to take moral high ground by acting like I don't hold grudges. I freely admit that I do.

Report Post Tip

Neither did Cin, or at least it looked like she didn't. She just suggested that this particular grudge about 'these people' can be laid to rest, and that is in itself quite a noble proposal.

But whatever.

Report Post Tip

She suggested "grudges" be laid to rest. This being the same person who holds grudges so severely that she runs to the Gods on a regular basis to attempt to have people struck down by them for the most fucking ridiculous and pathetic reasons. Sorry, but if she's going to bang on about others letting shit go when she does shady shit like that, I'm going to call her out for it.

People do need to get over the whole thing about "these people", but at the end of the day, all the pressure on leaders to not house "these people" and to bloodline kill them on a regular basis comes from the same place, and there's not very much that anybody can do to keep "these people" alive when bigger guns point towards them if they do not. It's not really "these people" who need to get over it, it's the people who keep ordering their deaths over and over because one person does something they dislike, whether or not "these people" seem to be working together or not.
