This was going to be a change I made without fuss, however felt it was necessary to announce as a formality and save any confusion in the future.

These past months I've been familiarizing myself with the ways of our world, as I remember very little of my bloodlines who have walked the streets before me. Within some old records however, I discovered documents which triggered memories and recollections of the days my family have spent here previously. 

Turns out, the more I found out, the more I didn't like. I stumbled across the old Gato Regime which was run by my grandfather, Louis Gato, and I rediscovered how Louis had to step down due to 'real life issues'. 

His then brother, Salvatore Gato, took on the Regime and Louis retired. Sal it seems however, had issues himself and was eventually removed by our then Godmother, Marietta. I've spent many hours searching for Sal's kin, to no avail. 

This isn't something I want my operation to be remembered for. The Gato Regime has always been the name I've wanted to create a legacy under, a name I wanted the guys working for me to be proud and enthused to display in their profiles. I wanted it to be known as the crew that put it's members first, that worked towards their goals and ambitions. I had completely forgotten my family's history and now I've uncovered it, I want to bury it again. 

I'm not ashamed of the stories you'll find in the past, I would just rather begin this journey with a clean slate.

So, the Gato Regime will be evolving to hopefully leave this past behind us. My members will be identified from now on as associates and members of La Famiglia Gato.

Let us not be remembered for the sins of our father but by the righteousness of our atonement, today marks the end of the Gato regime and the birth of La Damiglia Gato.

Long may our brothers and sisters watch over the streets of Philadelphia as the Mother watches over her children and may the Stranger be kind when our fate is tied for we worship the myths and accept our destiny in the name of the righteous and so as we bleed vigor let us breathe forgivness or forever dwell in limbo.

Unfortunately the past can't be expunged, but one can revisit the history of their ancestor's and repeat what proved to be successful and learn from their misdeeds. I am hopeful that La Famiglia Gato will enjoy a prosperous future, as well as, the respect of others.

I have every confidence that La Famiglia Gato will be successful and we will be able to continue our good work in Bella Vista unabated.

I know how you felt when you uncovered the truth about your Grandfather, but whilst some here have long memories, these things do fade with time and many, many, people here have skeletons in their closets they would rather never see the light of day. Your family tree isn't indelibly marked by this; in fact I doubt it has even been scratched. 

"Signor Gato we all have relatives in our family ancestry that we might want to break free of, and want a clean slate to stand on our own deeds. We need not to be ashamed of our lineage, yet embrace it to the point we know how to survive, grow and become stronger individuals learning from our ancestors' struggles.

I personally do not know your Grandfather, but the interaction I have had with you tells me you are respectful and hard working, not to mention polite.  It is true the past is the past, and each mobster here deserves a clean slate upon entering these shores.   I look forward to seeing your Famiglia prosper and grow.  Thank you for your time Signor."

Diavolo hears a man distancing himself from his past because they couldn't finish things up and not keep the Old Country from getting in the way.

"My friend your past in nothing to move away from or feel ashamed of. We should all embrace our lineage and the things that they have done, because it put you in the position to do what you're doing now. Without them you'd never be here, I am one who has a bad lineage for those who remember me a year or two ago.. I still embrace it and help that push me to be a better person these days."
