If you can't speak basic English, get yourself an editor (spellchecker) or a friend who can, and ask them to help you out. How you portray yourself on the streets speaks volumes, and if you sound like that, people will assume that you are unintelligent, not that you speak another language. I would think that would have been a priority.

But I've never been a leader, so I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Look, I'm sure Don Liquid was a fine man. Seph himself was no idiot, and obviously saw something valuable in him. I just felt like I should point out that to the rest of us, you look a poor choice when you are spouting incoherent nonsense after a war. Even looking back at his appearances  in the streets, he just gives off an aura of idiocy.

As a leader, every time you step out here you are directly representing and influencing how other people see not only you, but your district, and your city itself. I would think that it would have been a priority, at some point, to make an effort to improve upon the picture you gave to those on the outside of Las Vegas.

He's not the only one.  I could say the same about a couple other leaders that died yesterday. Grouped together it gave LA/LV the look of being, quite honestly, a bit of a joke to some circles. 

I've known leaders who did not speak English well who have done great in this world. Either by finding someone to speak their message for them, or putting in the time to improve where they lacked. 

God I missed some of this.

At the end of the day I just purely love the simplicity in Duplicity's words.

My stance regarding Las Vegas and a lot of its inhabitants was well known, contrary to popular belief I had no problem with Seph and the people who served under him were kept alive for so long because of him from what I know and have seen.

I had personal experience of being shot at by a former member of Las Vegas, followed by a friend of mine being shot at a few days later and a former family member being blatantly antagonised by one of the men in bold over there. The rest I've said in other speeches.

In my personal opinion this was long overdue. Mistakes are made but when they become the norm then any faith had in those at the top of any city concerning control over their members slowly evaporates.

Its been quite a wonderful day on these Streets really, hasn't it?

People whining about the reason they were taken out before it was even given. As if they had a God given right to have it explained to them anyway.

The same kind of people then whined about the reasons they were given despite the fact they were refuting them from the outset which was nice.

Then we have the age old language debate. Its always a winner. Being we live in the land of opportunity I think it's incredibly short sighted to disregards someones merits by how they speak. I also think it's incredibly harsh to attack them for what they previously did in that regard.

But saying that someone gives an air of idiocy because they come from a foreign land. Thats just utter bollocks, Saying they shouldn't have a family is just utter bollocks and saying that they should use others to speak for them is, you guessed it, utter bollocks.

Now do not get me wrong. These streets are where you are judged. But if you can clearly understand a point someone is making when they are obviously not 'up to speed' with the language then what is the issue. If it were short handed such as 'wat r u up2?' then I could understand it. But is isn't. A man who corrects your spelling will only adjust the word. Not replace it.

In terms of getting someone to proof read your speeches. Fair call I suppose. But I can only imagine it's quite hard for someone to admit they need that kind of help. We have spoken to -Liquid and said we will happily read anything he needs us to read. Obviously being new to the crew he didn't realise we are such super nice guys. Bt we will never try to tie our members down to the point where they cannot express a view because they don't use Queens English.

Perhaps in cases like these, instead of attacking someone, we should be trying to help as general community. Especially when the points they are making are valid within the speech.

But then again. Ive never been a leader. So that gets me out of making those decisions I suppose?

I personally did not know Liquid, but just based on the the words I've seen thrown around here by the two of you, I must say this type of banter is truly in poor taste. You were not "polite, respectful, and helpful" by any means, I must say, dear. Your words were condescending, boorish, and irascible at best. You offered him a "special cookie," as if somehow marginalizing him to being a special-needs person is not in itself demeaning? 

This community has its differences of opinion, yes, and we are certainly diverse when it comes to intellectual discourse. But making ad hominem attacks to disparage an individual based on his English proficiency is crude and a reflection of your own prejudices. Your implications send a message of intolerance to our mafiosos here who come from vastly different ethnic backgrounds. 

Our words in these streets are a reflection of our own character. You can criticize a man for his actions but to tastelessly disparage someone for their ethno-linguistic background, something for which they have no control over but choose to participate in this thing of ours in spite of... I'm incredulous at the fact that this type of overt racist bullying is condoned. 

As you can see from our OOC chats on our national origins, we are a community represented nearly everywhere. As much as you'd like to believe, this community is not and will not cater to some Anglo-Saxon sectarian ideology. We are beyond that. Shame on those of you who make allowance for this type of behavior.

This is all so very curious to me.  Very interesting, for sure.  I'm new to these parts, and I didn't know much about Las Vegas or those who inhabited that fine city.  What I've learned about the city I've learned from standing here on this street and listening to what's been going on.   And while I certainly don't think I've learned enough to speak that intelligently, I've seen some curious things, so I would like to know if this is how thins are run in these parts.

Seph was apparently the head of Las Vegas.  

He had other people that worked for him.

But ultimately, he had to make final decisions on certain issues.  

I take it some of the other leaders in Las Vegas - who, by the way, worked for Seph, didn't like some of those decisions.  

Those leaders were unhappy with Seph's explanations about those decisions.

I am curious how things are run so I have some questions.  Does the head of a city have to answer to the other leaders that work for him or her?

Why does a city head have to answer to anybody?  

Why did these leaders that worked for Seph feel so entitled?

Again, I'm new here.  So, I really have no idea how things work these days.  So, cities may run very differently than I picture them in my head.  So, really, I'm here to see if I can get answers for some of these questions and see if I can learn about how things go.  

Obviously I think it's important for all leaders in a city to work well together, and have good communication.  It doesn't appear as though that was the case in Las Vegas, but I really have no idea.  I'm just learning about what happened while I slept.  

okay and Clay... I have people who use English as a first language come to me to go over their speech before they come out here and tell it to everyone else to ensure it is presented in a way that befits our streets.

If people who used English as a 2nd language aren't willing to use the same extremely basic step before they come out here and speak... they will probably end up being ridiculed for it.

You can tell if someone has TRIED to make an effort with their speech. Ronin and Carol pointed out someone who clearly hadn't bothered to involve engaging their brain before opening their mouth and getting someone to practice in front of (proof read).

No, the streets are not a place where you get molly-coddled through every step. The help is there, if you're not willing to use it then expect to be called out for it.

It always seems that when ever there is a war, no matter who the losers are, when ever they have something to say about it, the antagonists or victors find a way to belittle and make light of anthers opinions and thoughts, often referring to them as idiots or morons. Just because the other cities are the victors in this war, doesn't necessarily mean they are completely honest with their reasoning and explanations.

You say that LV was full of inept leadership, perhaps some of them were, not everyone is cut out to lead, but are otherwise useful in many other ways. Most of the LV City heads went out of their way to keep peace and defend their families.

You say that the only reason LV survived as long as it did was because of Seph and his ties to Duplicity, yet the majority of LV's issues were from Seph himself. Sure LV had it's share of rogues, and they were handled.

Seph authed Cin, then shortly there after, asked her to step down.

Seph authed Vanessa, and for what ever reason had issues with her and killed her.

Seph killed 3 LV hands because he mistook them for someone he didnt want in his City.

Seph shot at a LA Crew leader thinking he was someone he wasn't, then attempted to brush it off.

That's only the things LV members knew about.

If any other City leader made even one of those mistakes, had as many issues as he did, they would be dealt with long before the point Seph died.

Someone from CH leaked info that CH and DT planned to take down LV when Visas took Godfather. Seph brushed it off as nonsense, because of his history and friendship with Godmother Duplicity. He takes his life the very day that happens. Seph may have been a good person, but he was a disappointing leader in the end.

Several members in Paradise drop during the first wave, and the CL is told not to shoot and she and Paradise will be spared. Do you really think she's that stupid? You shoot her crew and expect her to just stand there and watch and do nothing? Is that what any of you would have believed and done in her shoes? You make Seph out to be some kind of hero, instead of putting the blame where it really lies..The grammer of a LV leader in the streets is the least of the Cities issues..

He had obviously engaged his brain before he came out here. Hence why he presented what he presented. The broken way in which it was presented was obviously not ideal but hardly horrific. When you have that moment, when the fire is fanned, you speak without much thought I have found, haven't you? There are always those times you wish you could take back your words. What he had obviously over looked was the harsh nature of these Streets however.

I remember a time when you were called out on all sort of things from grammar to spelling, street cleaners were a lot harsher and the people. Those times have moved on. Rightly or wrongly is not a debate I am willing to have again. Needless to say we would probably agree.

What has happened here is a young mobster from another land has come forward with passion to have his say on a topic his bloodline is obviously close to. Now instead of a quiet word, which is entirely understandable, it has descended into insult. It didnt sit right with me hence why I have said what I have said.

You have come out here to protect your own as I have. As previously said we have spoken to -Liquid and we are going to help him as much as possible. But they days we try to suppress people from a passionate response is a sad day indeed. Even if it does mean a free pass every now and again. Attacking people for not trying when everything they say is a challenge is incredibly harsh and surely not a molly-coddle?

But, you are a leader, and as such it's your place to set the standard I suppose.

Carol love with the amount of credits I've collected believe me I can follow through with whatever threats I throw out, given time. I will be sticking a gun to my head after this conversation and babe it won't be long before my infant son will plying his trade on the streets. Actually I think he may just make it his lifelong objective to plug YOU before his family legacy disappears forever into the abyss.
