After a long night and very little sleep, a tired Disorder headed into the streets to address the obvious questions the community would have. He climbed out of his car and walked up the steps to the vantage point his guards had made clear for him.

"I've come here this morning with a heavy heart. The actions against Chicago last night were far from my decision alone. Others played their full part but I am not one for avoiding things, I'm here to take responsibility for what happened as much as anyone. Never have I been forced to make a decision like the one I had to make yesterday, and I hope I never have to again. Last night I shot one of my friends, it was a horrible thing to do. But it was necessary. Its very easy to lead when the decisions are easy, very hard when they aren't."

He looked up at the sky, taking his father's hip flask from his pocket and drinking a few large swigs for warmth before he went on.

"Our collective efforts with Godfather Bonkers and the leadership of Chicago went way back and saw us take control of the country. When we first took control there was a collective agreement to do whatever we had to, to ensure our continued safety as a group. There is a fair amount of detail here that I won't go into, needless to say we eventually arrived at the point of action. When push came to shove Bonkers took a step back and refused to make the hard decision required to help ensure our continued safety. I totally understand him wanting to do this, anyone with a heart would. However we could not accept it.

I tried to argue the point as did others but his mind was set. He had made his decision. I lost absolutely no respect for him for taking the stance he did. He made a strong moral choice. But, as someone given the task of helping ensure the safety of many families and people, I could not accept that choice. Neither could Godfather FitzChivalry, Don LuciusSweet, Godfather mouseycop and others who were all affected by it. The difficult decision was made. We had to remove Godfather Bonkers, and if we did that we would have to remove those closest to him that would be certain to fight back."

Taking another healthy swig from the flask, he returned it to the inside pocket of his winter woolen jacket and looked back at the crowd.

"I dare say there will be voices that oppose this. Those of you who say it is not the truth and those with alternative ideas about what happened and why. The fact of the matter is, this is the truth of the matter. There are several other reasons I could have added but it would have only made this speech longer and served as little more than distraction from the fundamental point. This is what happened to Godfather Bonkers and the city if Chicago. I bid you good day."

With that, he walked back down the steps and headed to his car.

Thank you for quickly communicating the reasons that led to the fall of most leaders of Chicago. The rumour mill quickly speeds up when events of this significance occur, so it’s good to hear an official statement regarding what happened.

Although I understand you can’t or won’t shed a light on the exact details, your wording implies there were people, or forces, or emotions or something in play within Chicago that were not fully vouched for as safe with the complete group of people who seized power sometime ago in response of the death of Godfather Kurgan. Something similar to what a man nicknamed ‘Graphic’ shouted about on the streets this morning.

If that complete trust with all is key to one’s progression, it’s not something that many should be surprised about as the social ideal is much more dangerous to a business than simply removing those you don’t fully trust. Based on your comment that you respect Bonkers for his strong moral choice implies the truth in this.

If this is what happens, it leaves me with a bit of a difficult feeling. Despite certain actions being not that beautiful, they can indeed be necessary and it’s good to note that no administration can prevent these choices without crumbling themselves. However while understanding that and looking to the future I wonder when I am considered a force that’s possibly dangerous to the current people in power.

In my time with Godfather FitzChivalry, with you and before that with Artus I’ve been completely transparent about my identity and experience. Yet I can imagine there are more trusted people on your inner circle, or within the group of power remaining in Chicago or New York that have no clue who I am or reason to trust me. Is a concern communicated by one of the power-group all it takes to take action?

This is just a practical example that matters. I don’t want this to be about me, but I can imagine there are others like me in Vegas, New York and possibly in other cities. Being quiet, false pretensions of liking a group at the top or engaging them transparently with concerns in public can be reasons not to be trusted. Not being part of the inner circle would put you in a difficult position, regardless of your relation with your leader.

To me it makes complete sense to not be a threat to those in power. The difficulty is that in not being a threat, I also am less valuable for my own city. How would you advise people like me to further their progression? Or would it be wisest to halt at some point, or simply make sure you don’t get caught as a danger? Or  would you say that Las Vegas leadership will make the same choice as Godfather Bonkers did, in protecting their members and interests. If that’s the case, I can sleep comfortably of course.

I hope you understand my concern and don’t interpret any disrespect from asking questions on these matters. Perhaps it would be wise to have this conversation in private, but I felt there is a value to be had from it for more people than just me.

This is the mafia and I understand that moves like these are a natural part of it. You had every right to do it, just as the same could have been said for Chicago. I will vomit if somebody uses the word salty - can't stand that word. 

I do feel compelled to speak though. This move has surprised me as I knew friendships between the cities had run deep to say the least, and even went back to the old country in some cases. That is not why I speak. In La Cosa Nostra, it's often your friend that pulls the trigger. I do, however, feel compelled to speak on behalf of the survival of our world. 

I understand there was significant pressure on my father to systematically murder his crew members that were beyond a certain age whereby they had a gun that was capable of causing real damage. I understand, please correct me if I am wrong, that Bonkers' "moral choice" was to, on my father's behalf, refuse to engage in this act. I understand this act was what you referred to when you spoke about ensuring "continued safety" (again, correct me if I am wrong, I've made assumptions based on my father's experiences). 

It would seem pointless to make the moral case for myself and Bonkers refusing to engage in this act as it would seem you empathise with this moral view. Now this is the mafia, and we don't operate under a normal moral code of conduct (hence why you completely had the right to do this). But. Let's be honest here. We're a small community. If we don't want this world to shrink to about 5 old bloodlines sitting around thinking "shit, who do we do business with now?", we've got to learn to give people a chance. As JaryllJicchai touched on, what incentive does somebody have to enter this life of crime if they know that there is a system whereby they will be shut off after a certain length of time? 

The group that made this decision have worked hard to get to where they are and I stress again that they have earned the right to do as they wish in their position of power. Nonetheless, I really do hope that, unless we want to end up in a long term lose:lose scenario where this thing of ours drys up, we need to give bloodlines we aren't familiar with a chance.

This was always going to happen. All is well when you do as Disorder says. The minute you don't, bang. No-one should be shocked by that. His fellow colleagues in Vegas were of no threat to him and would have helped him with everything he needed, but he and Fitz threw them under the boss the minute they could, so this is really of no shock that he's done the same to the people he used to remove Vegas.

Utopia made a wonderful point and its the main reason why I simply exist to do what I can for Cookie and put zero effort into any other aspect of my life here. There is no point in doing anything else. The only thing thats surprised me in all this, is that Borkers didnt help defend the man who got him where he is.

The problem wasn't that Chicago wanted to protected their members who were trusted and had proven this beyond all reasonable doubt, it was because they wanted to protect them just because they were their members. This was something we had all explicitly agreed upon not doing because that's how the snakes get in the grass; history is littered with examples of this type of behaviour after all.

As for those asking why should they bother, saying my life is over, woe is me etc. etc., have a look at yourself. If you're being honest with your boss and are loyally invested in your family, then I have no doubt you'll be absolutely fine. Conversely, if you're doing the bare minimum, lying, withholding information or any one of a number of other things which does not constitute the actions of what one would expect of a loyal family member trying to prove themselves, then I expect you'll end up on the garbage heap too. Our actions will be reciprocal to yours.

I think you are also missing that we HAVE to divulge our coffee shop names, otherwise we will not be fine. Also for some people (or quite a lot of people actually) even if they divulge their coffee shop name and it just doesn't fit right with the hierarchy of Las Vegas, you are still not fine. So let's be honest here, loyalty doesn't come into this whatsoever. Anyone is perfectly entitled to withhold their identity from anyone. I have never and will never demand that anyone reveal their linage to me or anyone else in my district. If you want to remain entirely anonymous, that's absolutely fine. Just go do it somewhere else. Its not as if there aren't an abundance of other options.
