| NEW RULE: Bloodlines are now private for under mades. | Started by: Squishy on Apr 21, '17 17:12 |

In most cases now, Wise Guys and under can now swap crews with little effort. Crewleaders will effectively hobble themselves long-term if they hold out promotions until they receive previous identities, so I'm not sure why this is necessary. |

It may result in the execution of the offender, and/or the CL, RHM & LHM. |

So for example, if one of Disorder's auths/RH/LH/sponsor fell foul of this, the punishment would be limited to that crew and not the Godfather crew? |

Also to clarify a few points you brought up.
The member is a wiseguy and you are not allowed to inquire about their bloodline.
You can be as KGB as you want with mademan, since they are yours and they are now actually a member of your family. |

Punishments will be limited to just the offending crew providing that the knowledge of it has not left the crew. If a GF crew is aware of the practice in one of their sub families and through inaction, or by request allows it to continue, then they can also be held liable. |

It seems like there should be some leeway in the issue, though. Being permitted to ask, but not being permitted to force the issue. |

" It seems like there should be some leeway in the issue, though. Being permitted to ask, but not being permitted to force the issue. " This opens up the ability to completely sidestep the very purpose of this. You ask, they tell, you now kill them/dont promote them for the very first tiniest infraction because of their blood line to skirt the rules. You ask, they dont tell, you now kill them/dont promote them for the very first tiniest infraction because of their blood line to skirt the rules. You ask, they dont instantly satisfy your questioning, you now kill them/dont promote them for the very first tiniest infraction because of their blood line to skirt the rules. As you can see, this would remove any benefit from this rule and put is exactly back to where we are now. |

What if a made man + or hell, even someone lower rank but not of the upper structure or a sponsor asks some random player questions about who they are or "bloodline"? Is it going to be so easy for CL's and their hands to die where they have to lock down their HQ doors for the fear someone who's only intent to screw you over will ask questions trying to hurt their CL without their knowledge? |

"If I feel it is being done on behalf of a sponsor or upper structure, then yes." So permanent damage to CL's and hands in game and reputation wise are going to based off what the gods "Feels or think" without being certain of? With so many cl's currently just starting off it seems a bit suicidal even trying to recruit if all it takes is a non sponsor to ask and the gods to shrug their shoulders not knowing exactly if someone is behind the scene trying to pull strings while still killing off the uppers. |

1) It has to happen 2) It has to be reported 3) Upon my review, it has to appear have the desired result ending in the passing of that info so that it ends in the hands of the upper structure. I am trying to stop the interrogation on every new name that pops up and does jobs, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of new and old players who just want to start a character and play. I am not trying to get people killed. In a small community like this where everyone dies at the hands of an opposing side, its easy how quickly someone can become jaded against.... well.. everyone. This has a very very negative effect when everyone new and old is held under a huge microscope and will be judged 30 seconds into playing a character. Attempting to bypass this rule with trickery, loopholes or fake ignorance may result in the execution of the upper structure. But, the intent isn't to kill innocents, its to stop the problem. Killing CLs because their member set them up isn't going to accomplish what we want. |

This seems like a rule more or less impossible to impose in a fair and decent way. And no offence but you have zero credibility when it comes to handing down just punishments (with tbh is a huge problem for this game). Im predicting that this rule change will result in CLs of bloodlines you dislike being punished and CLs of bloodlines you like walking away scot free. I wish Im wrong but sadly I have no reason to believe that. |

Kong, what alternative do you see working better but accomplish the same goal? |

Throw 3k durd spawns so those that are being bloodlined can build guns quicker and can have a fighting chance, lower bg caps. You created a system that once people are old enough and strong enough they can constantly remove threats before they are even half way to even being one. I like what you are trying to do squishy, and unlike what kong is saying I trust you to be just; but you created a system that's allowed the practice to be done with ease for YEARS. This isn't a new problem. |

Aye, we put the future of the entire site into the hands of the few, sometimes those few are good, sometimes not so good. People will accept anything as long as the change comes about in small doses, the whole frog in a boiling pot thing. In the past, staying in power by oppressing anyone who could possibly carry a risk was a sound strategy that worked. The problem is that over the past few years it has slowly built up to become a standard to know the past game names and history of everyones accounts. Its alarming. I want to put the brakes on this practice before it becomes forever written in stone. If we continue down this path it will just be a velvet rope in front of the club, "if your name isn't on the list, you are unworthy to play in a game that I play in, now fuck off before I enjoy destroying your fun." Yes, there are toxic cancerous users who will fuck up more often than not, and this new system makes them harder to spot before the drama starts, but it opens up the doors to letting back in a shit ton of old players who were previously pushed out by those once at the top, and it also puts the squash on the whole 'boys only club' feeling that some new players get when they don't answer the questions well enough to satisfy the interrogation. I think the ends justify the means. I get the hesitation of some crew leaders, they have their 40 members to look after. Well, I am a crewleader of 700, I have to consider all of them, and I feel that this is the best course of action that we can do until we find a better way. Let the current actions of people determine if they are worthy of moving on past associate and becoming a made member of your family based on their current account, rather than the reputation of an account they had long in the past. On a side note, something to consider. I had a few friends who were volunteer firefighters at the firehouse down the street from me. Sometimes they ask for extra help if they are short staffed running the bingo tournament at the firehouse. So this was my first time doing it. I invited my grandmother to come down and play because I know she yearned for some entertainment outside of the house and would probably enjoy some new company. Since I was helping set up, she got there early and grabbed a random seat. About 15 minutes later, this old cuntbag comes past the 99% empty 100 other seats, and steps up to my grandmother and demands she get out of her seat. My grandmother quickly apologizes and gets up saying she didn't know they were assigned seats. The cuntbag rants about how thats been her seat for 7 years. My grandmother moves to another table and sits down. This happens a second time, but this time not as cunty, but still very assertive that this is someone elses domain and its very rude to sit in this unlabeled seat that has been sat in for 5 years by someone else. My grandmother left before bingo even started. These old bats dont even realize how rude they came across, and through years of bitterness they are probably completely unaware of he consequences of their actions. It makes you wonder how many people had been chased out or turned off by the actions of a few. The proper thing to do would have been to take those two old ladies and show them the door. Making people feel unwelcome is the specialty of a small community where the vets slowly start becoming jaded against anyone not directly in their inner circle, and most are completely unaware that its even happening. This is not being directed at the current crop of leaders, this is me stepping in before a ever growing problem reaches a tipping point where it will take a very real and very damaging hit to the game. |

First, I'd like to agree with Ilyich. He is a cretin. Second, I understand and appreciate this policy change (and would like to see it added to the Site Rules, if those are still what we're playing by). All of those rules are subjective and related to player behavior- this one is no different. Izzy has made it his job to judge the guilt in every case, and if the work required to judge and discipline this new rule were greater than what was gained by the change, I'm guessing he wouldn't bother implementing this. |
