Squire's death Started by: Hickey on Aug 02, '10 16:19

Hello everyone. I am going to make this short. Squire was killed for a member that had been disrespectful by leaving my crew for Squires. The event tried to be sorted out but in the end it had to be done. In my eyes members are for life even if you dont sign the rules, you accepted my invite.

Just wanted to sum it up for concerned mobsters.

I have a question. Wouldnt it be the member that should have been shot and not Squire? I mean no disrespect I am just asking out of curiousity.

Report Post Tip

I had mailed Squire but we couldnt solve things.

"Sorry, I have to say something here. You killed a Family Leader over one member? Maybe if that member was a Made Man or above, but a gangster? It hardly seems justified. I don't knoe the whole story though, for all I know you could've had your reasons"

Did you give him time? I know he hasnt been on too long. Usually pops in and out.

Report Post Tip

Sammy, a member leaving a family in one city and moving to another city on a whim is no small matter. If the leader from that other city - Squire in this case - was unwilling to resolve the matter to Hickey's liking, then I'd have shot him as well.

To focus your point more finely and look at it from another slant....Squire, a Made Man, was willing to put himself and his family at risk when a Don from another city came calling? All for the sake of a gangster - if what you're saying is accurate - I'm not sure how he justified that to himself. Doesn't matter, he's dead.

Report Post Tip

Listen, what it is in the past now. It's done. I'm sure hickey as a respectable member of this thing of ours, gave Squire time. Also Sammy remember he was still part of the family no matter what rank. So that man knew everything about the family he had come from. That is a danger to let your private information leek, for any family. Surely Squire should have had this man killed, obviously  am wrong. So the punishment in my eyes was correct.

Waits around to hear what other people have to say on the matter.

So the punishment in my eyes was correct.

So in your eyes a gangster who on its own chooses to leave another family is a good trade for a crew leader's life? Did this gangster happen to die as well? I sure as hell hope so.

Report Post Tip

Maddie, if said Crew Leader was contacted and was stupid enough to try and resist killing the gangster, or outright refuse, then yes. Whether he resisted or refused, I don't know, but reading between the lines, it sounds that way. Slightly foolish if he did.

Report Post Tip

I'm sorry Maddie i don't think you quite understand. Squire REFUSED to do anything about this and refused to negotiate. By doing this he knows full well as he was a Crew Leader that he is also putting himself in the wrong. How do we know that Squire wasn't going to use that man to ask him all the inside information about Hickeys family?

Report Post Tip

Respect is one of the fundamental principles of Cosa Nostra and being disrespectful to a Don when you're a Made Man is never wise. Squire chose to be disrespectful to Hickey over a Gangster who bought out for reasons only known to himself. He ultimately put a no name Gangster who had offended a Don from another city, before the continued operation of his family and faced the consequence of that action.

I seems to me that had this been handled correctly in the first place, Squire would still be leading a family in New Orleans - Very avoidable.

Report Post Tip

I don't think you quite got the question I was asking. I was asking if it was a good trade in your opinion.

Report Post Tip

"Well, actually, a gangster is not conidered part of the 'family', not until a person reaches the rank of Made Man are they truely a member of the family. Before that time, they are just thought of as associates, and probably not a vital part of the family. Also, from what I have heard, Squire and Hickey did talk, Squire left his mailbox for a little while, and was shot while away from said mailbox"

(OOC: Probably why only Made Men and above are shown in the 'Crew Members' part of a CL's profile. And Squire went away from his computer for a short while, when he came back, he was dead)

Report Post Tip

Maddie, yes, good trade by definition due to the fact the CL didn't kill the gangster. Big mistake.

Sammy, even more reason for Squire not to try and resist killing him then. He was only a gangster.

No matter what way anyone wants to look at this or dress it up, the fault here is the N.O. CL's.

Report Post Tip

It is a sad day to see a crewleader downed. Unfortunately, jumping ship is becoming the new thing. Two members of Hickey's jumped ship and when I log on asked for an invite, not knowing they were previously with Hickey, I invited only to be told by Hickey they were his members, and we came to an agreement on how to handle the situation.

Just yesterday the same thing happened to me. Hmm.. What's with these gangster running around! What ever happen to Loyalty!

Report Post Tip

Sammy, Squire REFUSED to negotiate. If i'd have been in Hickey's position i'd have shot Squire too. Disrespect is something i hate, with a passion.

Report Post Tip

Congratulations My Hickey,
you killed a fine man to satisfy your gun, you and your family must be proud.

Report Post Tip

Looks at Euseibo, thanks for telling us about that. It just shows how easily the situation could have been dealt with...

Tips his hat to Eusebio, as he lights a cigar.

Woud you like a cigar sir?

"I would just like to add something to what I said earlier. If this Gangster was looking to leak vital information about Hickey's family, then yes it could've been a problem. However, what is a Gangster doing with vital information? This just returns to my previous point that a gangster should not be considered a part of the family and trusted with information. They need to know the very, very basics, as they have pledged nothing to the family like a Made Man has. All a gangster has done is said 'Can I have an invite?' Now yes, many of you may think this alone is enough to tie his blood with the families. But there is no way he should've known any important or vital information."

Report Post Tip

The punishment might have been a bit extreme, but I see it as justified and fair.

Gangster leaves your crew to join another. You a Don try to find a solution with a made- man who refuses.

Two valid reasons to kill him. I don't see the issue.
