Melvin: An Obituary Started by: Montague on Mar 18, '18 19:16

On March 12th, at 18.07, some fucking scumbag MURDERED the best reporter, and the second best Street Orator, that this thing has ever known.

Ramone has offered $500k for info leading to the murderer being identified, and I hope that the fucker is found and fucking dealt with.

Melvin wrote a newspaper that was unique, compelling and sorely missed.

As a person, Melvin balanced taciturn persona, coupled with wild charisma and an unusually brilliant investigative mind.

The result?

A newspaper, then a second and then a third

Who can actually remember which CLs and families were around when Melvin was writing?  What's that?  EXACTLY; NONE!

But we remember the Mafia Newspaper.

And we remember it fondly.

Frankie-Messina was approached for comment, as was Marley, but the person who approached them for comment was also murdered.

We invite them, and others, to eulogize now.

RIP Melvin.

Ramone was strutting his beat as usual and found someone paying tribute to the recently passed, Melvin.

"I remember Melvin. He was a star in the making. His rugged handsome looks, full head of hair, and expensive leather jacket will be missed. He was a true reporter who only wanted to report the news. His killer is still on the run. If anyone has anymore info on this, please come forward as the reward of $500,000 has gone unclaimed. Thanks dawgs."

As UrsulaIguaran heard Ramone speak highly of the apparently recently assassinated late reporter named Melvin, she wondered if she could dive into the archives of this mysterious writer, whose mysterious murder seemed an important issue to Montague, the latter spoke of him as if he were a contemporary Simón Bolivár, a visionary, a legend taken to soon from the face of this earth. Úrsula always liked studying people's behaviour, and she was sure she noticed some clues in the scene she just witnessed. Ramone was clearly affected and Whoops came across as totally puzzled, to the point of being baffled.

Úrsula did not want to come across as someone who judges early, that did not think through what she said in public, so instead of replying immediately, she went to the archives of the public library, requested copies of all published Mafia Newspaper, grabbed a coffee and took a seat to wait for the Newspapers to be brought to her.

As she looked around, a story came to her mind of a mineworker that became stuck in a tunnel, after a mine collapsed. The poor soul dug his way out, by removing stone after stone, even though he was being without food or water for ten whole days. Who was proclaimed a national hero, was invited to have an audience at several kings and even with the pope, who became rich as a result of it, but then was all forgotten about.

Her thoughts were finished when the newspapers arrived. Luckily, it was not the large pile she had expected, so she thought she could maybe be back in time to attend the gathering on the Streets still, before everyone would have left.

She defolded the first edition, noticed the writer and chief editor being the same person and wondered if there would be any conflict of interest there. As she read further, she wondered how the business plan worked. Instead of gaining money from advertisements, it seemed the newspaper's editor had given money away for people to read the articles.

This must be a very creative mind, Úrsula thought.

She read on.. There were no particular stories she was interested in, possibly partly because the newspaper was outdated, but from the reactions, and the notes on the old paper, she noticed the author had really managed to trick the people into getting emotional.

This is an amzing parody to a newspaper, Úrsula thought. She knew what to say now, so she rushed back to the site where Ramone had just speeched. Úrsula noticed a soapbox and climbed on it

Dear all.. a small pause ..three..

I utterly agree with all of you, this mystery should be solved! We should not have had another Van Gogh, an artist that is not understood in his own time, of which we hardly know why or when he died. So I hereby offer another $12 as a fee for the golden tip to solve this mysterious assassination!
