My brother when I was about 5 yrs old told me that mud puddles were chocolate milk, after drinking the "mud" water Milk, Our babysitter caught me and laughed and laughed. I am still teased about it to this day.

When I was a kid, me and some of my closest friends would go everywhere together. Even our mom's would hang out and shop together. One memory that sticks out was when we all went to Las Vegas for a weekend. There was 4 of us kids and our parents got a single room at Circus Circus and all of us stayed there. Us kids had a blast staying there, it was one big slumber party to us. But to our parents they were saving money.

Memories, originally from Colorado, I loved going to the mountains and seeing the landscape of the trees and lakes and peaks of the mountains and along side the road would be creeks but sometimes they were like raging rivers and we would pull over and inflate semi innertubes and ride down the currents of the rivers like roaring rapids.  Was so fun and when it snowed we'd do the same thing using the innertubes to slide down the mountains.  So much fun.  Snow drifts up to the top of the swing set we'd jump off and disappear in them.  Good times.  Thanks Dad.

i was a tween, back in the day when i would actually have a conversation with a parental unit, and helping my dad paint and fix up a boat he had just bought

i'll never forget the color, a baby blue...so anyway, the paint is balanced precariously on something, i don't remember what, and you guessed it, all over me, my hair, etc.

that's not the part of the story i want to relay...so my dad is talking to my crush's dad, in front of him, relaying this hilarious story about the boat, the paint and myself...i wanted to die

i hope you enjoyed, as much as i didn't  ;)

Ok so when I was about eight me, my two brothers and my Dad were in the West of Ireland and we were in the wilds where there was a mountain.

On a whim we decided to climb it. It was a pretty sheer climb and by the time we got to the top we realised the way down was probably not the way we came. Luckily we found a dirt track on top of mountain an followed it.

Around 3 hours of walking found us pretty lost but as we came round the mountain we spotted a place we had been that morning way off in the distance.

I fell over and cut my leg open and my 3 year old brother had to be carried by my dad.

We eventually made it back to where we started where my mum, aunt and grandad were starting to organise a search party.

This was not our last problem in Ireland or indeed with mountains.....

I played basketball all throughout school, in middle school i forgot my house at home on the way to a tournament so I made my mom buy me the T-Mac 1's before we got to the game. I felt like they gave me power. I dropped 22 points and was the MVP of the tourney

Ok part 2. This time a few years later we were on the east coast of Ireland again. My Dad's cousin asks us if we want to go for a sail in the Alantic. My Dad agrees for all of us.
So we set off with my Dad's cousin and his two kids. My Dad, my brothers and me.
It is a lovely sunny day and we are swept to the North and end up at a bay where we drop anchor and get the dingy out. When climbing down the ladder I jump from too high and almost capsize the dingy. We all laugh, as long as the worst that will happen that day we will be fine.
We row to the beach and have a lovely lunch at a pub overlooking the sea.
We decide to head back just as poseidon decides 'f these guys' and brings about a massive storm.
My Dad is in control of the rudder and trying to keep us straight, his cousin is sorting the main sails. They are basically doing everything to keep us afloat but they need help.
There are extra sails at the front of the boat. As the oldest kid that is now my job! To unfurl them I have to cling on to the side and scooch along whilst the boat is tilting at an angle.
I summoned up all my courage (short supply) and get there and unfurl them and point them where told, eventually we get back to port after what seemed like many hours.
I swore I would never go on a boat again...I would and worse was to happen but first another mountain.....

Well, i can tell you the most close i came to being "hunted by the law" kinda  story i have in my life. During my teens, as a stupid moment by drunkness and bad company, we broke some windows, but with bare hands, so night ended in Hospital, in urgency, with a special brigade unit looking for me and th guys (its a small city) cause, and quoting doctors: "when this guy ame in we didnt believe it was only his blood on the clothes , gotta be a third party and plenty of it". The cops took me home cause i had no ID, and only when i showed where i was and what we did, they believed me and the guys didnt hurt anyone and no investigation neeeded.

Nothing special but all those hours seemed a year, and i felt very small and definitly knew i wasnt as tuff as i thought i could be.

So I have a sister, she's 10 months older than me. Of course, this was a perfect recipe of all sorts of antics, my mum used to worry when we went really quiet. One time she put us down to nap but half an hour later she decided it was just too quiet. Upstairs she found my sister and I in her room, somehow my sister had pried the lid off a tub of white emulsion and decided to paint me with it. Apparently it took a hot bath and scrubbing me until I was red to get it off.

As a kid I loved snow (I hate it now) but back then, making forts in the back yard would keep me and my two younger sisters busy all day. One year when our family visited my grandparents for Christmas, we woke up one morning to the biggest snow fall I had ever seen. The snow in the back yard of their tiny house well nearly to the edge of the roof! I don't remember how my sisters and I got out of the house but I do clearly remember managing to be able to walk onto the side of the roof and jumping into a massive snow pile. Of course our parents didn't know this. Thank goodness we never got buried under all that snow! :O

I remember there was this one time that we snuck some liquor and my friend barfed all over the drive way. It was all the better since he was bragging about the 20 pc nuggets he got earlier in the day

Grew up drinking Cuban coffee. As a kid, loved watching tourists try it for the first time and end up bouncing off walls as a result. Fun times were had by me only. :D

Ok so I don't know why we didn't learn from previous mountain experiences but it seems we didn't.

This time I was about twelve and my brother ten and we were in Derbyshire and we saw a mountain so of course we climb!

We leave our parents and my littlest brother in a car park somewhere and go to the top. Similar to the previous time we don't feel we can get down the same side so we start walking down quite a steep decline. As we go there are rocks and sharp things protruding.

Suddenly my brother trips and completely goes barreling down this decline. What he hit I don't know but I panicked and slid legs first down. As I was spread eagled I was stopped by stinging nettles right where it really stings.

I ran over to my brother and I will never forget this was like a horror movie he sat up and he looked fine but as he turned his head the whole other side of his head had blood caked in it.

So we are now on the other side of mountain near a road. I flag down a car and a very nice couple stop and I tell them what happened and if they can take us back to car park.

From my Dad's pov he thought 'lazy gits have got a lift back' then they saw my brother.

We went straight to hospital where they glued his head back together. Next day we went to Alton Towers and went on all the rides so he couldn't have been that bad!

Soon I would be entering teen years and lads holidays and that would mean more sodding boats….

Memories tend to fade the older we get, atleast that's how I feel. Most memories I hold close have to do with people who are no longer here.

Buttttttt, speaking if memories....

How many of you use to hang at the electrical units (green box) when you were a kid. How many of you never knew it would be your last day hanging with some of the people you shared the best memories with. We all grow and become older and meet people along the road. Never forget where you came from, but grow from it. Some people never get the chance to see the life we all seeing now.

Dont take it for granted my friend.

I had a purple bike when was 8 years old and one day I broke it while I was going down a mountain. Fortunately I didn't get hurt seriously.

My most favourite memory is when my husband and I went to Vanuatu for our honeymoon, we were going to the Falls after hiring our a bus and driver for the day taking us around the main island. I had such a fear of slipping and breaking something on the climb... my husband didn't force me to go any further, however I pushed through my anxiety and met him at the base of the waterfall and it was absolutely magnificent. The smile on his face was priceless I have never felt so loved.

Ok so we are now getting into teen years. So what do you do when you get to 18/19? You go away with your friends on a summer holiday.

Me and around 11 friends went away to Zante. We had a fantastic time except one day two of my friends came round the pool and said "there is a 'pleasure cruise' with a bar on it round the island, we should do something cultured and book up."

So we did, as we got to the harbour the sun was shining down and we got seats on the top deck.

A couple of friends bought some early beers and we settled down. Just as we are pulling out from the dock a man in his late 60s in just blue speedos came up to the top deck and posed in all his glory looking out to sea. We nicknamed him 'Pose-Side-on' for his godlike quality of not giving a F and the pose he took.

We must have angered the God of the sea as we left the harbour a storm blew up, below decks we fled.

What followed I kid not was 6-8 hours of massive waves a boat that tilted from side to side and many many sick people all over the boat.

We early on took up positions downstairs lying across benches to try to keep the sickness down. It seemed like we were doomed forever to stay on that boat.

I witnessed people sick outside on deck and rushing to the small toilet on board. I don't know what it looked like by the end.

We finally left the boat and me and friends swore we would never do it again.

But we did not five years later….

(All of the above was worsened by when we got back to civilization we found out John Terry had been made England captain. What a bad day)

I remember 15 year old me went to Manchester for a football tournament. Some of my teammates looked older than 15 and got served alcohol in the local corner shop. I drank one bottle of Budweiser and I was shit faced. We ended up thrashing the hotel. Set of the fire extinguishers down the corridor.

Needless to say we played crap the next day
Then the club got a massive bill from the hotel for damages.

That team never played football together again

The sign read - A days fishing and all the beer you can drink.

We were in Cancun now at spring break which was a lot of fun. However a boat trip had appeared again and my friends decided to go on it. Two of us were hesitant, we shouldn't do this we thought after last time.

But we were persuaded.

There was no storm this time and there were a few beers which the fisherman drank as soon as we left the harbour. There were also no fish. As the boat rocked out in the middle of the ocean everything that I had consumed over spring break began to decide to leave my body.

As I spewed up a week's worth of alcoholic beverages and fast food, others were doing the same. After what seemed like an age I laid down on a bench and closed my eyes. When I opened them I looked toward the other bench where my friend who had not been keen to come also lay after having been sick.

We both mouthed 'never again' and to my knowledge he hasn't gone on a boat trip again. I however…...
