World War Z. The book was super fun to read. The movie was super dumb to watch. A couple of cool visuals but...... meh

I seemed to ways get myself into a specific genre ..but uhm I couldn't just stick with just one..but I always seem to find myself going back to one called burning Dawn.. I love that author great writer. 

This has probably already been said more than once, but every single Steven King movie is a farce of the book.  The only exception I can think of is the original "It".  I haven't seen the remake, so no comment.

Not exactly sure what was being asked in this thread but if it is about books that are then made into movies i'd have to say in my experience it's very very rare for some movie to do any true justice to a well written book it is based upon, if I read the book first then watch the move of 2-3 hours with a lot of the real basic substance of the story and subtle character interplay either left out entirely, changed or left on the cutting room floor, well for me it's 99 percent a major let down. This is done i guess just to make it fit into the time frame required for movies. So personally i will always read a book over watching a movie because whilst the former trains the imagination and the latter only trains one to be a better lounge vegetable IMO.

If we're just talking about books OR movies, then my favorite book would be The Warded Man (or The Painted Man in UK/EU) by Peter V Brett. It's the first book of five in a series called The Demon Cycle. To be honest, every book in the series is amazing, but there's just something that hits different about the first book. I would recommend it to anyone who is into fantasy books.

I haven't read that many books in the past. 

A friend of mine wrote a book 2 years ago (I come from Pluto) about his addiction and his life besides.

I know this was in the original post but loved the Hunger Games books and movies, also Game of Thrones books are really entertaining and mostly all of the show is great. 

I like to read books on military history. My main interest is world war II. But the Napoleonic wars have certainly also had my interest, especially as a teenager. Those flashing uniforms and Napoleons genius on the battlefield stirred my imagination. The american civil war, due to it been on the verge between old black powder warfare and modern warfare, offcourse also this whole capitalist regime vs the little man that it represents.

And luckily theres an endless supply on military historical books out there to enjoy.

My favorite book is The Godfather, as great as the movie is the book is even better.

I've never read The Godfather book, didnt even realise it was a book until I read your comment there FrankieFanucci! Will need to see about ordering that and giving it a read.

It’s a solid read, if I remember correctly it’s about 450ish pages but really great. Mario Puzo is the author.
