I like this a lot Joey. My answer is C) Joey runs quickly out of the car to see if his good friend Tom that he did business with wasn't hurt ... or worse dead.

Sounds adventuous and risky, my two favorite things. :D

~A~ and the story continues …

“Hey, Tom, don’t worry about it, I’ll tell you later it’s been on hell of a day, I need to take a break till noon, I’ll be back in then and I’ll talk with you about it then over some subs.”

Joey unloaded some of the crates with Tom and once he was finished took off back to his house.

When he got there he walked in and his dog was there waiting for him by his bed.

He put some food in the dogs bowl let him out for five minutes and he changed cloths.

He set his alarm, got up and he got ready to head back into work.

Stopping by the sandwich shop that he always went into he noticed there was a familiar face in the shop.

“Hey, Sweet Cheeks, fancy meeting you in here, longtime no see.”

“What are you doing out here Mary, you following me now or something?”

“Actually, yeah, I needed to talk with you about something I didn’t get a chance to last night.”

Joey walked over to the booth that Mary was sitting at and said, “Alright, I’ll listen but make it fast I got to work for a living you know.”

“Yeah, I know, remember how I was telling you that Lorenzo started in some trouble and that’s the reason all the fuss went on last night at the estate.”

“Whatever went down and whatever trouble Lorenzo’s in it’s not mine alright, thanks for the chit chat but I need to get going.”

Joey started to sit and then but Mary said something that stopped him for a moment.

“He didn’t ask you to find out about Fast Eddie did he? Because if he did, then you may be in with Lorenzo much further than you realize.”

Joey sat down, “Talk, I’m listening.”

“Well, you see the thing is that Eddie is a black sheep of the family, the Barzini crime family that is, and Lorenzo … well he is an ambitious boss in the family that runs with his own crew. Lorenzo thinks that Eddie is in cahoots with a rival crew in the same family, big Don Barzini doesn’t have much longer to live and all the underbosses are licking their chops to take over …”

“Why are you telling me all this?”

“I’m telling you because you can’t get involved with this and expect to get out from it. It doesn’t stop with one job alright. Lorenzo’s going to expect you to run with his crew once he sets up, and he probably will since he’s the strongest, richest crew in town… but let’s say that he sets up and let’s say there is a remote chance the other sub crews fall in line with minimum casualties, there’s still the Bertollini family that  wants war if Barzini’s family doesn’t fall in line with them … trust me get out while you still can, let me talk with Lorenzo on your behalf, I’ll tell him that you can’t do these favors for him no more and that your planning on going back to the home country for awhile because you miss your old relatives or something.”

“Look, I’m not an idiot, I had a feeling that Lorenzo wasn’t the straightest of business men and I told him that this would be the last time I helped him out with something, if anything you tell him that he owes me one for all the favors I’ve been doing for him lately and that favor can be to leave me alone.”

“Well, I’ll tell him that but he ain’t gonna like it.”

“At least take me with you Joey, I know the bar that Eddie runs and he’s seen me around there before it can be a tough place to get into, at least let me do that favor for you.”

What does Joey do next?

A)     Joey tells Mary, “No, I’ll be fine on my own, besides Lorenzo asked me to go because I wouldn’t get recognized.”

B)      Joey says, “Fine, you can come with but just to get me in the door, once we’re inside we split, Capiche?”

C)      Joey says, “Look I got to head into work, Tom get cranky when he doesn’t get his sub and I told him I’d go in, if you’re still around later stop by the restaurant.”

B) Joey says, "Fine, you can come with but just to get me in the door, once we're inside we split, Capiche?"

Nina is attracted by the mass of people in front of this man on the soap box. She comes closer and she soon finds herself engaged in the intriguing story. Looking for a place to sit, she casts her vote for B.

“No, I’ll just go by myself Mary, Lorenzo told me to go so that he wouldn’t suspect anything.”

He said as he got up from the table and left some money for the drinks on the table.

“I need to stop into work Tony will be looking for me.”

Joey left the store with the sandwiches and headed into the restaurant.

“Ey Joey, thanks for the lunch, I got a light day of deliveries and then you can just take off.”

“By the way, you were about to tell me something about what happened yesterday, I’d like to think you’d tell me if something was up.”

Tony said as he began to eat his sandwich.

“Yeah, I met this guy Lorenzo and I wanted to ask you about some character Fast Eddie.”

“Fast Eddie huh? Well he is a real piece of shit that guy, you can’t trust him with nothing so don’t believe a thing that he says to you. Also, he really loves to drink, and he can’t turn down the company of a full bodied women, if you can get him drunk he’ll start talking, if he gets distracted by a women, forget about getting through to him.”

“Alright Tony, I really thank you for your help I appreciate it very much. I’ll work on those deliveries and then I’ll be headed over to Eddie’s joint and do that thing for Lorenzo.”

Joey headed out in the truck and the deliveries went just like they normally did.

After he finished the last delivery he headed to the Golden Goose, it was a fairly large casino, bar, entertainment establishment with a special top floor for VIPs and the illegal stuff.

Joey walked to the door and slid a c-note to the man at the door and told him that he was new to the guest list.

He was escorted in and he started mingling with a few of the regulars at the bar and finally asked one where he could find Eddie to thank him for a favor that he did.

The man told him that he would find Eddie upstairs talking with some friends of his and he looked quite busy.

Joey walked up the stairs and noticed a loud mouthed, skinny guy, with shinny slicked back, greased up hair, shouting about table odds.

He thought to himself that the man must have been Eddie. Remembering that Tony told him about how he responded to alcohol so he pulled over a server and told him to bring a good bottle around that it was for Eddie.

“Yo, Eddie I was told I could speak with you about a business deal, that’ll make us both richer than we already are by more than you know.”

As Joey finished the server showed up with the bottle and before the server could speak Joey grabbed the bottle and bucket of ice and asked Eddie,

“You have some glasses and a place where we can talk in private where we won’t be disturbed?”

“Yeah, I suppose that I can fix you in a spot just head into my office grab yourself a seat and wait for a minute.”

Joey walked into the office and noticed there was a large desk with one chair behind it and long fancy leather made couch with some glasses on an end table next to it.

He put some ice in the glasses and poured the drinks then put the bottle back in the bucket and waited.

Just as he sat down with his drink he looked out the window and he could see Mary walking up the stairs in a tight black dress making her way straight for Eddie …

What does Joey do next?

A)     Joey sits in the room and watches from the window to examine how Eddie reacts to Mary.

B)      Joey runs out and greats Mary, “Hey Eddie, maybe you know Mary, she and I are working together on this project and I invited her up her to have drinks but I wasn’t expecting her till later.”

C)      Joey runs out to quickly grab Eddie’s attention and get him in the room before Mary has a chance to screw up his plan.

Reacting could get Eddie suspicious.
