Welcome to the first ever Unsanctioned CC writing contest! Prizes will be handed out as perks and credits! That way when the CC puts a bullet in my head, my kin can continue on the tradition!

This will be a simple contest, nothing overly flashy with no word limit.

In a land where we can choose to be anything at all, some people choose to be at the bottom of the barrel and some choose to rise above. Tell us about a time when you’ve done something good, not for yourself but for someone else. Something that didn’t help you move along at all. Perhaps something where a bit of humility was involved.

Prizes will be given out a week from this posting date. There will be no extensions. Only on time submissions will be accepted.

Such a wonderful thing to see and a great topic. I think the good deeds people are doing for each other largely go unnoticed. 

I fondly remember a time I had met a young man venturing out on his own for the first time. We actually met at an Unsanctioned Competition such as this one. At the time I had been working with the Competition Commission for many years, there was a pervasive idea going around the Commission at the time. Many Commission members called for the outright death of any and all unsanctioned competition hosts. It had been this way for many many years. 

I knew that this practice needed to be ended. So I spent the next several years laying the groundwork for the Competition Commission Sanctioning Committee for Unsanctioned Competitions. Through the newly formed CCSCUS we have been able to expand our outreach even further than before and sanction many unsanctioned competitions. Through the hard work of the CCSCUS competitions have been able to reach a previously impossible number of participants. 

This of course has come at a great personal cost to myself, but still to this day I am an advocate for the Sanctioning of Unsanctioned Competitions so the world can experience what the Competitive Competition scene is knowing they are safe and loved. 

So, you missed the humility part, Ned_Harrington?

Humility was not a required part of your prompt Bucky. You clearly said "Perhaps something where a bit of humility was involved." This would mean that showing humility is one possibility for the prompt with the others being "Tell us about a time when you’ve done something good, not for yourself but for someone else. Something that didn’t help you move along at all."

Both of these have been covered by my entry. Thank you for your concern though it is much appreciated. 

Also after some internal discussions this competition has been officially sanctioned by the Competition Commission. Congratulations.

Why are you so upset Bucky? 

I've entered your competition as per your own rules and still you treat me like I've done something to offend you. Are you insinuating that if you don't approve of the subject matter of the entry they won't even be considered for winning? 

I'm sorry we all don't fit into your mould and like different things than you do. Best of luck to your 'contest.'

I disagree with your decision and as such I will be awarding my own prizes to all entrants of this competition. Thank you everyone, as previously stated we will be accepting all submissions for one week.

So, Ned_Harrington, can’t come up with something on your own, so you have to try and hijack someone’s else, got it. Suppose you fall underneath that “can choose to be anything at all, and choose to be the bottom of the barrel” type.

Again Bucky we are going to need you to stick to the competition guidelines otherwise I won't be able to count your entries. You got this friend. I believe in you.

In a place where you can choose to be anything, that’s your choice? 

Well, I just landed on Ellis Island a couple of days ago, so I have not yet had many opportunities to give of myself. For the record, the Competition Commission had nothing to do with my processing for citizenship, so please don't disqualify me. It was strictly by the authorities on Ellis Island. So then, after I landed in New York, I saw a struggling young man trying to set up his headquarters. The Competition Commission was not helping him in any way and probably didn't even know he existed, so they were definitely not a factor. Anyhoo, I was like "Hey man, do you need some help in that HQ? You can put me in italics and I will be active so that you look good!" And he was like "WHO GOES THERE?!?". So I said "It's me! TomJoad! I'm all alone here. The Competition Commission is nowhere to be seen!". So he invited me and then I bought an armory for his HQ.

If people want to enter with an actual submission instead of suckling the teet, by all means. What is the purpose of stopping people from doing what they want to do? As I said to the other one, feel free to start up your own CC sanctioned event, this ain’t it.
