Thankfully I don't qualify so there is no concern of me ever getting my name thrown into the hat.

As for popularity and CLs, there are many different types of people. Just because you get a group of friends in there doesn't neccessarily mean they would vote on other things other than the fact they want to work together. That was my point with the popularity comment.

FYI, some people get spots based on their talent not because they are so well liked by every Tom, Dick or Harry.

When one says things like "you don't like it, don't do it" or any variation of that expression, it's generic. I personally couldn't care less if your name gets thrown in the hat or not. Since I'm not going myself, it makes no difference to me so don't think I was interested to know if you qualified or not. My point was an entirely different one.

And the "talent" you mention better include some people skills or that "talented person" won't last very long with such a crew. We have seen many, MANY "talented" crew leaders wiped out shortly after setting up for lack of people skills.

I think this is a great idea! I'm just sorry its only for 34 and under units. Either way though, it seems like a great answer to the recent rogue activity. A 'put up, or shut up' challenge so to speak. They have somewhere to channel all that anger into a possibility of being Godfather of their own city. Who wouldn't take that chance. 

As several have already pointed out, before everyone starts jumping down their throut, remember the freedom of choice. No one is forcing anyone into this, and I eagerly wait to see who will seek fame and fortune.

Personally, i like this idea because people have a choice and knows the concenquences of setting up in Detroit. I guess in the follows weeks of septembre we can all count on getting quite some entertainment from Detroit. I for one will be on the front seat holding a box of popcorn and a coke. If someone survives the whole deal and becomes a Godfather, that person will earn my greatest respect. Good luck to the ones that will choose this path.

I like the idea, whereas in the past we have seen some of the people do well in these experiments solely due to their credit wealth, the new experiment doesn't have much room for that. It gives room for the experiment to be won by violence and diplomacy. It will need an intelligent game plan rather than just buying bodyguards and no-one else in the city having the time or build the ability to shoot through them.

Speaking of the vulnerability to the rogues, the last one failed all shots on anyone with more than 0 bodyguards, all of the victims were 'Not Protected'. If the Brotherhood continues their pointless and cowardly tactic of shooting the weak and unprotected, these limitations give anyone joining the experiment the freedom and ability to make their members safe from them. Should we see more capable rogues, we, who have fortifications, will be just as vulnerable as the people in the experiment. In addition to this the number of people capable of destroying these rogues has hugely increased, the likelihood of a rogue getting off more than two shots is now very low with so many available to assist in the hunt.

Wow it is Saturday. The last rogue stayed up for a solid 20 hours and got at least 8 shots off. That was on Thursday. There must have been some kind of training going on between then and now to think a rogue would last less than three shots.

Good to see such bravado from you now that you're IWP. It's a stark contrast to the silence when you didn't have bodyguards. Anyway I don't have any control over the rogues so they'll do what they do regardless of me.

Had I made threats to rogues during my first eleven days on these shores, they'd have been idle ones. I don't make idle threats...

I only have one question, will the rolling of the "rolling a die" be made public for all to see. in the interest of fairness, Im assuming that it will?

Just out of curiosity, I would like to seek clarification on two of the rules.

The first is to do with this voting in and voting out scenario. Say that I get voted out of Detroit, which I know is completely unfathomable because I'm Bruce and everyone called Bruce in the history of humanity is a superstar, what should happen if I decide not to leave?

The reason I ask is that another of the rules is that there will be no outside interference. Should I decide that I don't like the way that the vote has gone and in my Brucely wisdom decide to kill all of the other leaders rather than leave and disband, can I expect a bullet to the face from the other cities? Is one of the Gods going to smite me down?

I have to echo bruce's question. If leader X is "voted off the island" and decides, "fuck this, i'm staying", who is responsible? Now I would like to hear that the no outside interference rule applies here. so that the city of detroit has to make the change themselves. but i want to hear the official line.

All that said, I have to say that I don't like parts of this idea. You get three guys together who can work well together, and as long as their names come up, everyone else, is out of luck. The thing I would change is that a new leader is only rolled up if a crew leader dies or is removed. otherwise how much time do you have to build trust, and show that you can run a crew.

I am extraordinarily intrigued by this idea. There are so many possibilities that could arise from the situation. I, for one, look forward to observing this experiement from the streets. There's no outside interference, but I do hope the lab rats, so to speak, will be kind enough to still visit us in the streets and discuss their thoughts. I see this basically as a race to Godfather of a currently silent city. And I think THAT is what interests me most. 

I admit, though, I do have a few issues. It seems as though the ricest man has the best chance of survival, while the most popular one has the best chance at the voting. So potentially, a rich and popular mobster may have a leg up from the competition from the get go. But... not much to be done about that. I just would like to see some new blood give it a whirl and see what happens. Best of luck to those who enter the experiement!

The rogues are probably more likely to shoot these weak leaders and families in Detroit than the existing ones across the other cities.

Also... with the amount of strict and stringent rules I can't see 5 or more people wanting to setup in DT when they know they could waste all that money setting up only to be voted out by a trio of idiots that decided to vote them out because they can't do anything else to them.

I may be wrong but I think we'll find a shortage of takers for this.

I personally wouldn't wish for a chance at leadership that is seen this way.

I for one, am very excited about the prospects of this venture. The chance to set up, and test your luck in an empty city seems very exciting. Granted, there are four other wildcards in play, but the strenght of a real leader isnt in his gun, but in his ability to work together with the other leaders and form a real united front. A bit of moxy, and some political prowness, you can easily last for a long time I believe. Good luck to anyone willing to step forward and grab the bull by the horns.

With the restriction on bodyguards, it wouldn't take too much dedication to build a gun capable of killing the other leaders... If you think "a trio of idiots" is going to vote you out, kill one of the fookers, then there is no vote that fortnight, simples!
