Detroit: is your number up? Started by: Bunny on Aug 18, '12 21:27

Drop down, pick up your 50 BGs and two weeks later you're back to Capo. Sounds like a pretty good way to give yourself an advantage to old Tubby.

As you say, I guess we'll see.

Have fun :)

I knew that a descendant of godmother Marietta had to speak in a conversation regarding Detroit.

Report Post Tip

That is not a decendant of the Marietta bloodline. Besides that little tibit, I'm eager to for the date to arrive to see whom shall be giving this venture a go.

Report Post Tip

Ah, it's not huh? My apologies, I'm an inexperienced guy who's also a little embarrassed.

Report Post Tip

I was wondering if it would be possible for a slight rule tweak on this? That is the fortifications rule. The people wanting to go over to Detroit are generally fine with risking their own lives by taking this chance up, but why should their family have to be so exposed too?

With the recent surge in rogues we have had I think it would be a smart move to let them have more fortifications. Let's not forget that to get to Godfather they're going to need a decent size family (30 members i believe) and are that many people going to join a single family in Detroit when they know they're at a huge disadvantage when the rogues appear?

By just upping the fortifications limit, rather than the BG's limit you're not making it impossible for there to be a good rotation of leaders, while still protecting the people they manage to convince to join them on this wacky expedition.

It's been ten days now, when is this competition starting?

Report Post Tip

The original post says September 1st.....?

Report Post Tip

Ah, noticed it now. My apologies.

I'm fully aware that I'm not able to speak for any of the people behind this idea, but I see the fortification ruling as fair.

I know you already mentioned that the members will be at a higher risk from any potential rogues, but you also have to keep in mind that people aren't being forced to go to Detroit. People can see it has the potential to be fairly volatile in such an environment, it is the job of the leader to attract their members based on other qualities. 100% safety cannot be promised, just as we may also see a leader being asked to step down after a couple of weeks if they even make it that far.

I think the fortification rule is stern, stern but fair. We all know the conditions set before people start making their way to Detroit, we all know it is a risk. The future Detroit leaders have been given the chance to succeed, as far as I can see it is all based on the roll of a dice and nothing has been earned. Take your chances as is and try to play your cards as best you can.

Cant wait to see this campaign set up. Good luck for all

Report Post Tip

The first has come and no CL's. Any updates on this?

Report Post Tip

Im curious to see how this first batch of crewleaders plays out too. Officially Ive heard nothing, but back alley conversations have brought up some intresting names. I dont know about others, but I'm rather interested to see how they will work and coexist with one another. Look forward to seeing their names announced, or to walk around the corner and spot them in fancy bright suits sooner than later today.

Report Post Tip

May I suggest giving a little more time than 2 and 6 hours into the day before things start happening? There are 24 hours in each day, just because a quarter of them has passed and there aren't any updates, doesn't mean the worst, I assure you.

Report Post Tip

Patience people patience loll. Well, i have to say i am eager to see it myself!

Report Post Tip

i can assure you i was only expressing my eagerness to learn oh what is to happen. i wasnt trying to push the issue or rush anything

Report Post Tip

I dont think anything was directed to you Ragnarok... a lot of us are eager to see what will happen in Detroit. I assume that if we dont see any CL's setting up today would mean that there currently is'nt any volunteers or the ones that will volunteer are too young for now. Of course, i can stand currected by this. Which is why i am only assuming it!

Report Post Tip

Don't assume Gent, only makes an ASS out of U and ME.

As it happens, I know there have been people putting forth their names. I dont know however what the outcome was for these names. It remains to be seen if anyone was accepted onto the experiment. As Sammy so nicely said, patience is a virtue.

Report Post Tip

I see your point Tyrion and you are quite right. I should'nt be assuming such things, my deepest apologies if i have offended anyone by this statement. If you dont mind me doing so, i will remove my statement.

I am quite patient, although i say i am eager... i am, but i do realize that these things takes time and Detroit opening today does'nt mean CL's will be setting up on this day. There are many reasons why it can take more time than we hope.

Report Post Tip

Due to the current applicants not having a high enough rank to set up, the kick off is being pushed back one week. My apologies to those eager to see this start, I can assure you that I am just as eager and delaying the start wasn't something I wanted to have to do.

Bunny nods at the crowd before hopping away.
