Detroit: is your number up? Started by: Bunny on Aug 18, '12 21:27

When I woke up I stumbled upon this foolishness. I'm never bitter by anymeans but I do recognize stupidity.

I enjoy the fact the first thing you turn to me being bitter which you clearly have no idea of what you speak.

I'm far from trolling though

I really guess I don't know what I'm talking about. Someone who has obviously recently died, comes out into the streets and just blatantly causes disturbances, rather than giving an actual opinion and backing it up with a reason. Simply re stating what the thread says and adding a "?" to the end, isn't good enough.

"This is horse shit and stupid", isn't that the epitome of trolling? Hmmm. Kicking and screaming isn't the best way to try and get a point across little one. Maybe next time you decide to make yourself look dumb, you'll suicide and stay away forever. That's doubtful to be honest.

The first is to do with this voting in and voting out scenario. Say that I get voted out of Detroit, which I know is completely unfathomable because I'm Bruce and everyone called Bruce in the history of humanity is a superstar, what should happen if I decide not to leave?

Well, we have stated that a 12 hour grace period will be allowed for the stepping down of the voted out family, if they choose to stay, they will be removed. If you go against the guidelines of the experiment you will be dealt with swiftly, it's that simple. We have given the options if they have been voted out as well. You can STAY in Detroit under another family, or go to your original family you came from.

The reason I ask is that another of the rules is that there will be no outside interference. Should I decide that I don't like the way that the vote has gone and in my Brucely wisdom decide to kill all of the other leaders rather than leave and disband, can I expect a bullet to the face from the other cities? Is one of the Gods going to smite me down?

What happens if you break the rules? You die. There will be NO outside influence as long as no wrong doing is happening. If you cheat and break the rules of the experiment, you're no longer apart of the experiment. You're now considered a rogue.

Hopefully this helped you, Bruce.

I'm actually no clearler on this rule.. Apologies.

So are you confirming that should the vote go in a manner someone doesn't like, they have 12 hours to make a move and decide to remove the other DT leaders that voted them out, or not?

Or once the vote is decided do you feel the person is now no longer a part of the experiment and such any further actions other than packing up and leaving are deemed to be actions of a rogue?

Just looking for clarification. I actually like the concept that someone could actually decide "Fuck it" after being voted out. I think they should be allowed to respond in kind for the vote against them.

Report Post Tip

Tyrion, I'm guessing that another layer to it is that if you are willing to go to that extreme of saying "fuck it" you should try to find out before the actual voting occurs if you are getting voted out. It seems that once you are voted out, that's all she wrote and all cities will expect you to pack your bags and not just crewleaders from Detroit.

But I kind of agree with you and hope they give them 12 hours to leave **peacefully** but within those 12 hours they can declare war on the rest of DT. Although I can't imagine a single crew in DT getting stronger than other 4 crews and the 4 of them deciding to take it to them through a vote and not just shooting him to minimize the risk.

Report Post Tip

Thats precisely my point Aidan. I would much rather there was a risk involved with the vote process.

If someone can simply sit there and vote another leader out witout any fear of retribution, then it kinda devalues the whole aspect to me. What happend to every action having a reaction? If the only possible reaction is to pack your bags and leave, then I dare say these rogues would be more likely to occur when such instances occur. Though that would require people to actually apply in the first place obviously. (I've no insight as to whether people have or not applied or are going to apply)

Report Post Tip

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but what happens if all crew leaders decide to vote out the one who's evolved and grown the most? This competition ends once one of the leaders turns Godfather, but the nature of the competition nearly makes it impossible for anyone to become one because they would simply be voted out.

Report Post Tip

The-Dean slips a quick 2 cents into the conversation...

How about the CL's NOT involved do the voting...

from all the other Cities...

More possibility of the best person getting picked for the right reasons, and not from some underhanded moves just to keep the competition going.

Stands by smoking one of his cubans amd staying mostly quiet.

Report Post Tip

I think a deathmatch should be held in Detroit. When five crews are set there, let them fight each other, and the the last crew standing should be the leader of the city. Plus it will let the leaders display their talent to conduct wars.

Report Post Tip

Ladies and Gents all you got to do to prevent being voted out is make sure they are not 5 CLs at the time of the next draw. If there are only 4 CLs then there is no vote and there is room for the new person to get randomly selected.

I also am curious of this. Would the most powerful, or closest to winning the competition, always be the one voted out? Everyone is going to want to win, therefore, the most powerful or highest ranked is always going to be the one the other contestants want gone. Is there anything in place to prevent this?

Report Post Tip

But eventually there will be 5 crews. And one of them will be voted out, most likely the strongest one.

Report Post Tip

Some people enjoy being a crewleader and don't need to be a godfather. While it is perfectly healthy to wonder and imagine different scenarios, I think it is very far from certain that everything that could go bad will. Perhaps a bunch of friends end up going to DT and they will all agree on who should take the city or they could all just play a "clean race" and whoever gets 60 units first wins and takes the city.

The last stages of the LV experiment saw this happening.

Report Post Tip

This is a interesting thing and I look forward to see'ing how this will work out when leaders must step doen after the votes. Det has been empty for while now will be good to see some family getting run there.

Report Post Tip

In response to Maestro's comment, I'll repeat what I mentioned earlier in the conversation...

With the restriction on bodyguards, it wouldn't take too much dedication to build a gun capable of killing the other leaders... If you think "a trio of idiots" is going to vote you out, kill one of the fookers, then there is no vote that fortnight, simples!

The voting out of a crew only occurs if the city is full, if a leader within the city wishes to avoid this process, the choice seems simple to me.

Report Post Tip

After listening to people discuss this experiment for days now, The_Dean decides to share some observations.

I've noticed an apprehension towards the experiment from people that might be worried to invest time and money into something that they could be voted out of, or randomly kicked out of even if they were working harder than everyone else. Why not take the maximum number of crew leaders being 5 away from the equation, therefore letting everyone see their full potential over the course of the experiment? I'm sure more people might be willing to take part if that were the case. This is only a suggestion based on what I've seen from people so far though. Only you know truly how many people so far have asked to be a part. Of course if you already have more than enough, disregard this suggestion.

The_Dean blends into the background once more...

Report Post Tip

I'm confused as to why people must have less then 34 units. in other words why do they have to be below the rank of boss. Is is strictly for the reason that every CL has the same distance to go to get to the GF position?

Report Post Tip

It gives less ranked people a shot to become leaders.

Report Post Tip

Rather easily circumvented by those highly ranked people just taking a demotion to buy bodyguards though.

Report Post Tip

Tubby, you can't buy that many BGs anyway. And I would say yes, Shax. I would think it is so that nobody could go there with 48 units at whatever rank and then claim the city in a few weeks.

Report Post Tip

You can buy 50 BGs, which is a pretty big number.

Report Post Tip

But if you demote all the way to thug for 50 BGs then the time to rank back up to Capo... it might not be worth it... OR maybe it will. I guess we'll see.
