I also have no idea why none of my posts want to let me bullet point things like I want to! :( |

MichaelLaMotta makes an excellent point as to why posters shouldn't get anonymity when responding to things. He was heavily ridiculed. You guys seem to think everyone is going to be borderline harassing when we talk abuse. Ridiculing people and their ideas has yet to get people in trouble unless they cross an extreme line. But even to me, calling someone's suggestion stupid is going too far. And those instances would only increase with the anonymous factor. Now do you really think the admins are going to wack people or heavily punish people for those minute abuses? Should they really be made to have to babysit the forums? This will be more trouble than its worth. |

Yes I do think they are going to wack and heavily punish people for this. enkindle has already stated they will, with Izzy saying it also. The admins would not be babysitting the forums, as enkindle also said, there would be a report feature, if an anonymous post is out of line, the report button is hit, and it flagged to the admins, it doesn't require that much monitoring. There should also be a punishment for abusing the reporting feature, again I suggest admin wack and ban for persistent abuse, but I am consistently too strict with the punishment I think users should receive for persistent rule breaking, so maybe that isn't the right way. |

Pratster, the original post requests News and Announcements, OOC and suggestions. Not just N&A. |

You think people will be punished for calling people stupid? They aren't now. |

"In News and Announcements, OOC threads by admin/staff or perhaps even in the suggesions forum" That's a direct quote, and it's clear to me that he means OOC threads by the admins or staff, not by players in the OOC forum itself. Even if that wasn't the case, his follow up post clears everything up. |

Calling someone stupid is not breaking rules. Unless the admins have decided to give everyone a dummy and hold their hand through the game, and I've been unaware of it. |

This is going to keep turning into argument after argument. I've given the reasons I'm against this and that won't change. |

As while this is a role playing game, those aspects are not essential to the role play aspect. I shouldn't have to use my game name to suggestion something, or say something in OOC. |

I understand you've given your reasons for not liking it Cassi, and I considered all of them, and gave counter opinions and reasons for each one (or most.) Have you done the same for me? Or just written them off as me being me and it potentially turning into an argument? This is a place for debate, is it not? |

I've heard out all the points... Doesn't change my feeling on it. It would be a flood of sewer water into the game, just not sure how much. Prat, there's no reason the userbase needs or deserves this. I do not trust people to behave.
As it is, this forum is where we handle suggestions and such. I've called people stupid before. Sometimes they have been. Big deal. It's not right. I get it. I haven't done it lately. I wish I could. I behave. However, we must admit, there are stupid people. With that, there are smart people. That means that there are also evil people... and not evil people.. smart and dumb alike. Since this isn't a Utopia... nevermind.
Point is... Stupid isn't really a concern... it's the more vicious... the more intelligent attacks that can bubble up in this. IRL references perhaps. Stuff like that. Scarrry stuff. People are already cruel enough on here.
Hell no to any RP anonymity, and I don't think the admins deserve to have to deal with any more reporting of drama. Everything having to do with suggestions and stuff should be able to be handled here or in MM or another forum, in a "respectful" manner. This fear that is mention is stupid. People who have gotten in trouble... If you ask them, and they're not nutcases, they'll admit that they did something out of line. Otherwise, plenty of people share their opinions and don't get in trouble... so... That is all really... |

Right, so again, your point is, abuse? Which every other people has already addressed, counter argued again, and still it seems everybody who thinks people will abuse it, cannot prove why the punishments I suggest would not deter, stop, or deal with that. |

Why give children matches and firecrackers with the intent to punish them if they light them? Why burden the admins with having to dole out punishment? Why create something new to monitor for the sake of punishing? |

If that is truly what you think, you can't be looking at or even considering the benefits it could entail for the game. I'm not going to repeat myself on them, they are in my previous post. It is not for the sake of punishing, it is a punishment for the abuse of a feature, just like there is a punishment for EVERY other abuse of EVERY other feature. IP sharing, reporting profiles, reporting mails, why is this different? It isn't. |

You only assume that those children will light them. Why do you assume theres going to be a huge abuse when this feature is passed and implemented even with punishments being so severe and well broadcasted for all to see? |

Children always light them. That was the point.
The admins will have to read through every time someone makes a report.
Prat, what little benefits there are... let me put it this way...
There are some kids in a barn and it's like oh we have these fireworks and matches oh and there's some hay and our parent's cow named Molly. Mind you it's the dead of winter at night, that's why the cow is inside, not outside grazing and such... Now, they light the fireworks and suddenly the barn is all warm and it lights up everything around it and it's spectacular... and the hay lights on fire... Long story short, Molly the parent's cow escapes the barn just fine... and there are some kids dead due to third degree burns.
Like Cass, I'm gonna step away from this. I haven't slept. It's 10 AM, and I'm writing stories about cows. My opinion is out there in some form. Resting time for now. |

Yes Pratster, I took the time to listen to you, all the way to you calling mine and others opinions uneducated. To suggest otherwise offends me a bit. I can see where people can find benefits in the suggestion, however as I've said over and over again, which you're obviously tired of hearing as you also stated in your post.... There are already measures in place to protect people if they so choose to be protected. I won't bore you by going over them all again. Debates? Sure. However, I'm not trying to get you to change your mind on why you think this is a good idea. I'm merely giving the reasons I do not support it. Hence my want to remove myself from the conversation as I have already stated my position several times over. For me personally the negatives far outweigh any positives this may have. |

Cassi, seriously, come on. All of your arguments rest on your assumption that players will actually be stupid enough to insult people and risk being banned. If you call a suggestion stupid, that's not an insult if you explain why you think it's stupid. If you call someone an idiot and get punished, you won't do it again, nor will other people after seeing what happens when you do. No-one will even think of going further, as everyone knows that saying something like "Hey, your mom is a whore" will get an instant ban, or at least an Admin kill. Abuse itself can be easily solved and the rest are only pros. |
