| Posting Anonymously | Started by: NoahLevenstein on Jan 15, '13 10:39 |

My point is that I don't want anyone at all to have the ability to post anonymously. After everything I've said over the past four or five pages, I can keep my opinion limited to that. |

tbh, I wish EVERYBODY stopped repeating their opinions over and over and over and over... |

Whitey, to say that Spike needs to go and read the thread and get back to you, is fucking ridiculous of you. You clearly do not have a clue what Spike's view on this suggestion is, going by your post anyway, so actually, Spike was right, YOU need to go and read the thread, and the replies. Especially if you are thinking about posting about it, and maybe sponsoring it. You have absolutely no fucking idea what you are ranting on about, what the thread is about, what Spike is saying, or anything to do with this suggestion. As much as I want this implemented, for reasons other than to "hide my incog/hitter status" (again, bullshit which proves you know nothing about this), I'd think about revoking your sponsorship until you actually know what you are talking about. Disgraceful. |

I don't see any point in allowing anonymous posting. I can see the arguments for and against. Surely if you seek clarification on an in game feature, and you don't want people to know you use that feature, such as wacking ('I have 500 kills and I want to know when the graduated attack bonuses kick in' for example) then you would just message Helpdesk and get an answer from there, directly, instead of making a thread. |

6 pages of comments and I haven't the time to read through them all now so I will comment on the original. |

{That was a little excessive there and most of that probably should have either been redacted or mailed :/. Whitey read and commented on the suggestion around the beginning of it, I believe the rest of his comment was on not bothering to read all the arguing.} |

{I would remind everyone on the PC that rules specifically require to behave in a professional/non-insulting manner. While that will probably go by the wayside on particularly testy issues, I'd ask that you guys use the redact feature if you must air your grievances on the forums. Considering we're constantly being voted in and out by the entire site, it isn't the best image to portray if we're basically insulting each other, let alone in public.} |

{I disagree slightly there Ralph. Heated debate can be healthy, provided it doesn't overstep any marks. I agree though that things in this particular thread are getting rather over the top, though.} |

I have to say as someone interested in this suggestion the blacked out text is really annoying to follow the conversation. |

It's an internal discussion. |

{I think it's time that we move our discussion of this over to the PC forum, and one of the supporters writes a summary.} |

{Sure, but "heated debate" shouldn't mean throwing around insults at our colleagues, and we've had plenty of them without the need to throw around unnecessary grandstanding and name calling. We have our own internal rules for a reason.} |

If they were extremely pertinent to the conversation they wouldn't be blacked out. However when something needs to be said in response to something in the thread it's much easier to use that route than others. |

Just pointing it out that it's somewhat frustrating to those of us who may be following the conversation. That's all. |

And I'm pointing out that there is no reason to be frustrated as it less concerns the actual topic. So no need to worry something is being discussed about it without offering the public the chance to respond. |

Well, we're ever so sorry to inconvenience your reading of the conversation
{So yeah let's just discuss it on the other thread} |

Then why is it in the topic if it "less concerns" said topic. Wouldn't it then be irrrelevant to post it here?
No offence but I have this topic on watch. So everytime a new post comes up it alerts me but obviously anything thats being discussed is unimportant (that's what I'm guessing from your replies) to the actual topic at hand. |

Would you rather I answer your question here or privately? You're more than welcome to mail and ask, rather than continuing to alert you. As I said, sometimes things need to be addressed in a topic that may not necessarily pertain to the discussion of the suggestion. I apologize that it seems to be an inconvenience for you personally, but the redacted text option is there for us for a reason. |
