I am respecting it Adrian. I am also allowed to ask questions to better understand it at times. I am not asking what is being said but rather why?
Do I normally watch threads? No, so I don't normally watch PC talking to themselves.
Cassi- Maybe I am not the only one curious so if you want to answer my question here that is fine.
Anyways, It never hurts to ask. Well unless it's an IC thing then it does sometimes. |

I said it was an internal conversation. That should've been enough.
{How many ways does she need to hear it.} |

Mentioning words like annoying, frustrating and whatever you said in a THIRD post sounds like pushing the issue. It may have been short but it was to the point, Spike told you what was going on. |

{Melis: Unsatisfactory answer is never enough Melis: I prefer Adrian's reply Melis: Thanks though}
{I got that in PM on IRC. That is exactly why I don't want people having anonymity. I'm not responding to her, but you see why things could be dangerous? Where there could be abuse that isn't punishable? }
The spectrum is too wide, and I really think this suggestion is in over its head. |

Spike, considering redacted text is for use for PC members to discuss things 'privately', you've now used it in 5 posts without any other PC member using it. If misinterpreted, it could easily look like you were just using the redacted text to wind up Sorche which surely isn't the image the PC (something tasked with representing users) would want to do? |

{What does anonymity have to do with this? Nobody is being anonymous here! If you dislike Melis PMing you, remind her of the rule that players cannot approach PC members, yadda yadda.} |

Noah, we were discussing something unrelated to the topic, and then dealing with her questioning it. So of course, I would be using both redacted text and not redacted text. Sometimes we need to talk in redacted text while in a discussion. I'm sorry if that seemed like it was winding her up, but it wasn't meant to be. |

{ralph, I think if the user base is going to vote for me personally to stay on the PC, then they should know how strongly I feel about topics and how I conduct myself sometimes. I'm not interested in giving a hazy or half view on what I am like and how I will continue to act while on the PC. If this ends up with me not being voted back in, so be it. At least I've been myself and the users that did vote, are voting for me, exactly the way I am, and not the way they see me in the text I choose not to redact.} |

{I don't mind that conversation continuing in redacted text, but as a user, it's pretty tacky to post that kind of stuff in public. And, as someone who respects your quick wit and intelligence, I highly doubt that the absence of you using provocative/insulting language is the make or break factor between what is a "hazy or half view" and a fully complete, thorough opinion or analysis, which you are more than capable of. PC accounts are held to more stringent rules and standards than your average user account, especially in the public's eye. It's as simple as that.} |

{That post is a clear example of why I do not support the anonymity of posting. Conversations get heated, people say unneeded provocative/insulting statements. And in having the ability to be anonymous those will only get worse. He said nothing should get him admin wacked or even in trouble with the admin, but for me personally, it was over the line. And people will feel much braver going over that line, with this feature in tact.} |

{Damage is already done if it's up there for a second. There are things that can be posted that are in a grey area... Admins can't punish for it etc... but it's still offensive. I also can't even begin to think of the flood of misinformation, and general spam...} |

{In suggestions? Because this is branching out to more than just OOC as far as I can tell. So it's ok to do it when you're not anonymous, but it's not ok when you are?} |

{As has been said, abuse will be punished severely, and only if the punishments are severe enough, will it deter. Losing your account and being banned are very reasonable punishments for this kind of thing in my eyes. So we shouldn't see much of a problem from it (after the initial 'I am going to see how far I can push the admins' crap gets out of the way) Of course, if it appears to be a massive problem I'll gladly admit I'm wrong and the feature can just as easily be removed.} |

Shifting out of redacted, I think that the ... grey area that I mentioned is what I fear more. The obvious abuse is simple, and while it'll waste a little more of the admins time to sort... it's not terrible... but there's just the flood of it all... and the stuff that is questionable, but isn't punishable. The benefits just aren't enough for me.... just to continue this cycle of repetition. |
