| Can you call yourself Czylharz? | Started by: Jono on Jun 05, '14 17:54 |

Well... Can you?
There will be no scene setting for this one or beating around the bush.
I myself had in no way any part of the most recent Czylharz debacle and after hearing what is said about Czylharz these days and how much the name has been tarnished I am not sure whether I am glad for that fact or upset that I didn't at least have a chance to stop the name from being in ruin.
Being Czylharz or Chilled Heart at one point in time meant something entirely different to what it means now and I am going to share with you how I feel when remembering that I am Czylharz.
Czylharz was an elite group of people who chose loyalty and unity above all else. With in or with out a genuine Czylharz crew. It meant that no matter what the circumstances or the consequences they would always be there for you. Czylharz is with in the very fibres of our being. There was never any in-fighting, just debating a right and wrong opinion. One of the many reasons why we were masters of the streets. Hell... even now, 12 years later, If a Czylharz name came up as a target in a war we would understand that the shot needs to be taken but would never, ever take it ourself. If a Czylharz brother was in the line of fire then we would throw ourself under the bus to protect them.
These are just a few of the things you can expect from a Czylharz. Having a Chilled Heart was something that was given to you. Earned by years and years and years of loyalty. It was special and it meant a whole damned lot to those who can rightfully carry the Czylharz tag.
So can you call yourself Chilled? Should you be carrying the Czylharz name where ever you go? Are you ruining the name that once stood so damned proud on the original members minds.
DmitriCzylharz, CrossDeLena, Scarpia, Fatjack, Agamemnon, CaptainArab, Slacker, Ungrateful_Dead, Shocker, Erractic, Scarin, Richard_TeQ, a-true-soprano, RedBuddies, Mr-Luciano, SpikeSpiegel and of course Jono.
Is one of your family line listed above? Then no. You can't. I hate to lose 12-13 years worth of legacy.
Wow, maybe I should have started with that. Would have made this speech a whole lot shorter!
Before I go... Let me ask you a question and hopefully confirm what I now fear. When you see the word Czylharz. How do you feel? |

| It means something to those involved, but to others, its just another clique. Nothing wrong with that man, just means as little to me as any other clique that has floated about this way of life over the years. Its nice for you guys and gals to have something that bounds you together, but it isn't a way of life for everyone. | |

The thing with that Ragz is after speaking with a lot of people, it's apparent that it matters to a lot of people. The name was tarnished from what we few had worked so hard to carry on over the last decade.
As the last run was so massive the name Czylharz now has a meaning to the masses. Unfortunately for the wrong reasons in the most part. |

Oh bummer. Jono I've always liked you but is it really that big of a deal to you that people carry around a tag? If you want to place yourself on a pedestal then fine be my guest, but there was absolutely no point in you coming out here basically saying that you're better than someone else. I can call myself a goddamn Dallas Cowboy but we both know that I never played for them.
If it made people feel like they were involved what is wrong with that? It is the job of a leader to bring their people together for a common goal. Someone achieved that. Had it been any other word you wouldn't care the slightest.
If you want to really know how I felt about the group. I really didn't care about them then and I didn't care about the newest incarnation. A group is a group. You spend time with them and you're damn sure loyal, but if I see someone who is running around with 303 I don't come out to the streets ranting about it. |

Doesn't 303 kill people for using their tag without permission? |

| If people are concerned about the Czylharz name being tarnished, shouldn't the blame lie on the hands of the man or woman that started a crew name using it? I can't recall who did it, but it seems to me there was a crew not long enough using that name. I could be wrong, and if that is the case, I apologize. | |

Awww Shaggs... I've always liked you too. I'll meet you around back later. Bring the cowboy suit. winks
It's a shame though that from your opinion it sounds like i'm trying to put myself on a pedestal. I can see why it looks that way although it wasn't my intention.
My intention was to show my stand point and view of what it has done to an important part of my time here. More importantly than that it's more of a follow up from my other conversation. To show people that the streets aren't just about story telling, auths or protection orders but can be used to bring about opinions of the people. This is my topic of choice today as I knew it was one that would have a massive difference in opinion from many people. Bringing them out here to share it.
So far I have found two people who the name means nothing to, so I can imagine why the replies have been the way they have. The people who it does mean something to though? I look forward to their response. |

I also have to admit though, I have no fecking idea what the 303 thing is. So ignore it... As you do Czylharz. If someone had said something similar to what I have said about 303, i'd have probably had the same reply. |

| These groups in general have meant nothing to me over the years really. Who Er, 303, Czylharz, and whatever else is out there that I've missed. Good for you all, you've joined a group and carried its tag line on with you, that is awesome. That mentality isn't for everyone. | |

Which is far enough. Some people don't have it, don't like it or what ever other reason. Thankfully, it's not those people I am trying to draw out here today. |

| I would like to listen to others speak about what the group means to them. To hear someone talk about dedication would very much make my day. I hope you accomplish what you've sent out to do today Jono! | |

Lola walks out to the streets to share her thoughts. Knowing that she is a youngster to this place, her word wouldn't get as far. But she hoped the history she was about to bring up would go far. Jono, my mother remembers the true Czylharz group and the meaning behind brotherhood. Back when the groups or cliques used to mean something, the ones chilled at heart were a group of respected people. I know my mother always respected them. The thing is, as other people have mentioned, as more and more groups come out of the shadows they mean less. I think this is one of the original factions that is still thought of highly but the down turn of groups, this one may have suffered as well. I don't know all the details as you bring up Jono with people using the name and tarnishing it, but I respect your motive here today. What do you think is the most rememberable group? I have to admit I think CP left the biggest mark in this world's history. |

Ok as someone who served all that time ago under both the strangely smelling scarpia and crossdelena i would honestly doubt i would use elite players in reference back then; they may have had a strong bond as players but so have many other groups in the past angels and comunita for example. Do i believe the names been tarnished... of course, especially by some of the original members bloodlines you mentioned who committed acts which risked other members of the original group. Pro'ing of solastagia can be counted as a fine example risking scarin and mr lucianos bloodlines among others. Was the name tarnished by their run and those who used the family name, of course, as ended with scum rising to the top in some cases betraying their oaths to their leaders and their own. Was no fall on their sword for each other attitude, people became distant soon as they had power and instead changed the same way power often does to people(both original and non original members). Was it a surprise the betrayal and treachery led to the downfall, no and is something that happens to all empires sooner or later. Is Czylharz just a group like many others..yes and of course maybe will be seen in a different light to people within a group and back then but sadly bloodlines change and can't be judged by an ancestors in many peoples eyes. |

Vicious only risked really his own bloodline, and an unlucky godmother (Sorry bina), no other original Czylharz. Vicious was sitting in Philadephia with a kitten after all, far removed from them... On Elba. Scarin and Jake were not put at risk for that, as they did not know Vicious' intentions... And Solastalgia wasn't going to shoot them... It isn't gentlemanly to make grossly inaccurate statements or claims for the sake of attempting a blow (at history nonetheless), but it's the value they are taken by others I suppose. When you personally represent "a crack in Czylharz"... That "betrayal"... "Treachery"? Should you really comment? No.
Back to the topic at hand: As for the devaluation and muddling and dilution of Czylharz as a title. I have discussed this in the past but am too lazy to go back searching and quote myself. Jono, perhaps you can understand it this way: What Jake, Scarin, and I wanted to create was simply a crew bearing the title. I took the name on as well with my crew... But what about the other crews that set up under us? Would they not feel left out? And so, it became a Czylharz District. I felt there was a problem with it then, yes. But Raptor was helping out Bip and so we thought that might keep things kosher. And yet, we still continued to grow. More and more crews popped up all over. And we couldn't really say, "Oh, no you can't wear that." It grew out of our hands in many ways. We allowed the tag to be devalued and I fully recognize that, BUT a very important thing to know is that there were certain people who wore that tag proudly, and were loyal to us. There were others who really just wore it as a security pass. At the end of the day, the Czylharz of the last year is really what each person takes from it. There were plenty of complete fuckups wearing that tag. I like to think that Chicago held standards on it though, and there are many from Jake's Suburbs still alive, and they were not of ill nature or ill born. Some very beautiful and great people came out of the Czylharz Empire, and many of them are in power today. And yet, one of the most loyal people to that reign, wasn't even wearing the tag at all. And Solastalgia/ralph was a fine example for the reason the whole thing existed in the first place as an empire. It all would've been dead well before that, but some people are just ignorant, which is usually how it should be regarding that sort of business. Others are just ungrateful. Jono, I wish you had been there. Not because I feel you would've really supported the use of the name, but maybe you'd understand the position we were in on it... Also, I think you could've had a heavy influence on the people under us, and perhaps they would've worn the tag better for it. But do know, there are people who do wear it out of respect for us, and they were loyalists to the others. I do recognize though some odd people wearing it from time to time, but you know what? At the end of the day, it's a tag. It's meaningless. You and I both know who the members are, and with time, it will fade in others' mind as a memory, so I wouldn't be too concerned. I do wish you could've enjoyed the good times of it. We did really want you there. And so, shall dust envelope the the tag and wear away at it, and should the resilience of the old blood continue on. History shouldn't be forgotten, but it should not wear on people's minds. This is a different world from even those times which don't seem so far back. We can discuss the Titanic all we'd like, but it still sunk. |

At no stage did my family start an uprising against my own, at no stage did my family leak or join an enemy. So is no treachery on my lines behalf and was why another ancestor of yours was removed due to peoples fear of what was going on in your ancestors mind. However, the topic is not about me and this is not about getting into an argument with me. Jono asked an opinion, like you will have your opinion on where czylharz held strengths and weaknesses, i will have mine. I am sure we can agree on that much. I also believe Czylharz as the diluted version could of reigned for a long time if it wasn't for the cracks which were easily exposed. |

I agree fully well with this statement. What you decide to scribble across your chest means fuck all to me. It has no meaning. Although, bandwagons are becoming really popular to jump on when they're rolling down the street. Trendy. |

Now I was not around for this Czylharz at any point during there existence. However, I am here to point out that although a "tag" has no meaning for you it doesn't mean that it doesn't have a meaning to those who wear the "tag." It clearly means something to them, whether it be a group of friends wanting to be in a group together, or some people with the same goals on this game that provide motivation. Therefore, regardless, you should be at least respectful of that "tag." |
