Respect for the Dead Started by: Curtis on Mar 14, '15 15:36

You're welcome for my input and thanks for the explanation of your self-evident contribution which I already understood. The issue is that the manner in which you are attempting to categorise this is inaccurate and misleading.

This isn't an instance of Curtis, or anyone else, placing themselves above rules they made, whether they have the means to do so or not and killing someone because they can, it is one of punishment being handed down for entirely deplorable behaviour that overrides everything else. This had nothing to do with LA and some things that should be readily apparent to anyone weren't listed in the "rules" either. This is because we, perhaps naively as it turns out, thought nobody would take it upon themselves to flout the obvious conventions of our thing. Live and learn I guess.

Report Post Tip

If you piss on someone's grave at a funeral, expect to die. Regardless of who you are or what rules are set down.

It is a vile act that automatically gains the perpetrator 'piece of shit' status and there is only one answer for... which was swiftly dealt out in this case.

Kudos, Curtis.

Report Post Tip

You could just not be an asshole to people after they've died...that's something that should be ingrained in your family's brain, LA or not.

Report Post Tip

So I never disagreed with anyone over the Grave pissing I do think its wrong and should be punished but in answering to some of the quotes on here I was saying that its up to the boss regardless of anyone's opinion of rules ect.

That's my humble opinion as the bottom feeder I am thank you for putting me in my place for having an opinion

Report Post Tip

You're welcome.

Fact of the matter is, the actions taken to protect some unspoken bullshit rules went against an actual spoken rule. Sugar coat the fuck out of it all you want.

The rules were laid out. The leaders of LA can create and enforce their own policies on each other. If they wanna shit on puppies they can, it's their GIVEN right per the rules. They create their own policies and guidelines for what's acceptable and what's not inside the confines of LA. If you don't like it? Don't fly to fucking LA for the funerals.

Can we please get a clear list of "unspoken" rules that must also be followed ontop of the current rules for LA. You know, to limit the bullshit like we're seeing now.
Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

You forget who made these rules, and who is enforcing them.

Report Post Tip
I saw the fucking rules that were made. This tidbit wasn't in them.
Report Post Tip

As a made man or woman, any person who sets up in Los Angeles should be very much aware of these unspoken rules. And I believe they're called unspoken rules because they're unspoken. We didn't just sit down and decide 'hey, lets not be dicks to people who have died.' It was something that was just mutually agreed upon.

Report Post Tip

Then I will say that this is a rule/law that applies to everyone, everywhere.

Report Post Tip

Tetley stands around taking in everyones words, quietly listening. He clears his throat to toss in his two cents.

Disrespecting the dead at their own funeral in front of their family and loved ones is a disgusting act, anyone who stoops so low is no true mafioso and deserves to be put down like a wild animal.

Report Post Tip

The only bullshit I'm hearing is coming out of your mouth. What the rules actually say is that there will be no conventional rules about governance. No blanket canvas was offered allowing you to paint it with whatever shit you want just because you think you can; get real. This is still the Mafia. You're still bound by that minimum standard and as far as disrespecting a funeral goes, you're also bound by basic human fucking decency. Who does that?

Report Post Tip
So essentially, we're just making this shit up as we go? Being free to enforce your own policies and guidelines doesn't really mean what it says? I'm sorry but it was made to seem like LA was a different beast from the main speech, not the same old "unspoken" bullshit.

So essentially it's like every other city, got it. My argument is nonexistent then, my bad.
Report Post Tip

First off.. I truly agree with Barry and company on this one.. This is not rocket science. Our way of life has ALWAYS had these so called "unwritten" rules.

I am sure all of us here could go to our respective family's HQ bulletin board and read the "respect rule" I would even wager it is in the first three of all our rules. The rule of respect is not limited to just the living.

Me personally; if I killed somebody, or had something to do with it. I would not attend the funeral.. The family and friends are trying to mourn, my presence would only disturb the mourning process.. Let alone if I started painting the casket of the deceased.

Furthermore, "A lawless city?" Please, we all know better. If this was truly a lawless city then you could very easily say anyone who is in LA and is the following could be shot and killed at LA's discretion.

or any other thing that the majority; if not all of us know are a sure way to sign our own death warrant.

Would you really expect the powers that be to allow that? I know I don't. So why is respecting a funeral such a demanding and unrealistic task?

Social standards are not set by a city.. They are set by society. Society has said that nobody will disrespect a funeral, and society has been saying that for years.

When they say "no intervention" that is under the assumption that you will still follow society's rules. Meaning when your father dueled two CL's and won, nothing happened to your father at that point in time. It's when he went to the funeral of those dead individuals and painted those caskets that your father ran into issues.

No intervention would also mean anyone in LA as CL's will not have a GF in their ear directing the city. You are on your own in trying to build the city. But once again you cannot be expected to be allowed to not follow the rules that any CL authed under "normal" circumstances could not follow. This would include disrespecting ANYONE regardless of their position in life. The dead, are dead.. All the more reason to leave them alone.

The only exception of course would be the fact that at some point fighting and warring will occur in LA due to the power struggle. Thus allowing you the power to shoot your enemies without going through any channels so to speak.

But, I am just a lowly Earner.

KTI walks away and disappears into the city.

Report Post Tip

Listen to Barry he knows what hes talking about I used to think for myself but now I agree with all he says and nothing more

Report Post Tip
Doesn't matter how you viewed it (which is all that should fucking matter).
Report Post Tip

Glad to see you've seen the light, Norman.

Report Post Tip

Yep and its shining out of your arse

Report Post Tip

Then, my father takes out your two guys and you use some bullshit excuse to take me out because things didn't go your way.

"As I said very clearly in my original speech that I was all for the way your father took care of his business in LA. I respected the manner he fought back after being attacked and had nothing but enthusiasm to see how things would turn out for him.

Let me also make something crystal clear, these weren't 'my guys'. For a kick off only one came from my city and he knew really fucking clearly before he left, that moving out there would disconnect him from us utterly and leave him absolutely without support or help of any sort. I didn't and still don't give two shits where each participant comes from. Once they are in that city they are from that city and that's the end of it.

I took your father out because he broke a code that has been understood for as many generations as this thing of ours has existed. Simple as that. No rule bending, no sides taken, no fuck all. If he hadn't gone a acted like a disrespectful idiot and tipped paint and ash on a fucking coffin, he wouldn't have got shot. Simple as that.

The rules didn't cover this as I thought everyone who's ever set foot into this thing of our knew this basic fucking principal. If you can't respect the funeral of the fallen then you really don't deserve to live. The End."

Turning to Sammy he goes on.

"And as for you Sammy and your pissing about things because you didn't have the common sense to listen to the original speech, I said, quite clearly

" this for me comes under the category of something that has happened in LA that has affected the outer community. "

In case you hadn't noticed because you are as good at paying attention as you are a listening, a vast majority of the community were outraged and appalled at his behavior. Therefore affected by it."

Report Post Tip
Funny how the family of those involved didn't see it as disrespectful, the only opinions that should matter on the topic at hand.
