The Neverland Bar Started by: Rayln on Oct 23, '15 16:37

Napping slowly looked up at the man petting him. Noticing the obvious fear in his movements he purred in delight. The ability to strike fear into the hearts and minds of the masses was a long seeded talent his family possessed.

Accepting the man's pets as a suitable peace offering he returned to his saucer.

Lily paused for a moment when JackRuby started talking about turkey basters, she wanted to say something but instead just picked her drink up and took a couple big swigs. She about mustered the nerve to question it but Jack continued on. She looked at him intently acting like she was paying close attention to what he was saying but really in the back on her mind all she could think about was that turkey baster comment. She did though catch the end of what he was saying and tried to play it off like she had been listening the entire time.

"I have some big shoes to fill, this I know. Gonna take me a little while to be as important as you are but I'm totally willing to put the effort in. You guys have been more then welcoming, makes a girl feel all special."

Not sure if it was the booze speaking or not but she couldn't believe she came out with makes a girl feel special. She thought in her head that she needed to change the subject.

"So, I just have to ask."

She hesitated for a moment but Jack was waiting to hear what she had to say and she didn't want him to wait any longer.

"Uhm... waits with the turkey basters?"

Jack laughed aloud this time and for quite a long while, he knew that's where Lily would hone in on the turkey baster comments. He took a drink after he was done laughing so he could explain all about it.

"Well, the thing is, strange as it is to hear it Kimble, comes from a long line of turkeys, one of his great ancestors was a famous turkey around these parts, he went by the name of WildTurkey. So every year, when it comes closer and closer to Thanksgiving, everyone bonds up, and stuffs him full of stuffing, and bastes him with gravy to keep him nice and moist for everyone to enjoy."

Jack pauses to finish his drink and let that settle into Lily's mind, but the look she was giving him, he though it might be time to go up to the bar and get another drink for the both of them, so she had time to process what she just had to take in.

Jack gratefully accepted his drink, and although Rayln couldn't sit down with him for even a moment, he flashed her a smile, and allowed her to get back to her own business. Jack took a healthy gulp of his drink, and sat watching the rest of the room. He saw a few youngsters dealing weed in the corner, and he shook his head.

"Fucking kids these days."

Napping yawned as he looked up from his saucer. Such a look day of cream and napping it was time he stretched his legs. Jumping down from the counter Napping decided it a good time to run full speed back and forth around the shop.

Napping found some random small people in the corner selling human catnip, but was wholly uninterested in them. If it was good nip he might get some but that other stuff is worthless to someone of his stature.

It's been a long time, back when he was still in Chicago, since Ilammo visited Detroit. Some areas seems familiar, but it has undergone a drastic change. No longer Godmother Visas rule these parts, but instead SpikeS has taken over the reigns here. Wanting to find someplace familiar after a long flight from New York, Ilammo head to a place where he knows, felt like home.

Ilammo pushed the door opened and was surprised to see a handful of people in the bar. Looking through the room, he recognised JackRuby accompanied by Lily, who he believe is the newest edition to the Elites. Not wanting to intrude anyone's conversation, Ilammo took a seat at the counter and warmly smiled at Rae,

"The usual, please."

Detroit, back where it all started. He had just arrived in Detroit after all the festivities back in Philly. Much had happened the last few days and it was hard for him to leave Philly. There was a lot of work left to do, helping Connor build up their family. But there was some unfinished business back in Detroit. He decided he would have a drink before getting work done and heading home. He couldn't leave for another few hours any way.

He walked through the Detroit street and finally found the place he was looking for. The Neverland Bar. He entered through the front door and walked inside.

"Good afternoon everybody."

Tesla called out while walking towards the bar. There was still an empty seat which he took.

"A whisky please." Tesla asked the barkeeper.

Making his way off the train, Genesis takes a moment to stretch and breathe in the fresh Detroit air. It was his first time in Motown. He grabs a newspaper from the stand and heads for the streets. On his walk, he sees Rayln's joint, The Neverland Bar. He heads for the entrance and takes a peek inside. Being the socialite she is, the place is packed. He makes his way toward the bar and finds a vacant seat nearby and plops himself down. He peeks at the menu, closes it as he already makes his choice.

"Good morning m'lady. How are you? All is well I hope. I'll have a glass of your finest Bourbon, no ice."

A curly grey haired woman with half moon glasses barely clinging to the wart on the tip of her nose waddled into the bar. She was wearing a thick mucus green anorak, baggy brown tights, white shoes and white elbow length gloves. She had a hair net over her head, several whiskers on her chinny chin chin and a thing white moustache. She approached the bar and stuck her right arm into her handbag which was hung off her left elbow. She pulled out a worther's original out of it's wrapper which seemed to be covered in cat fur, or something resembling cat fur, seemingly surprised to find it there, as if she'd been looking for it else where and not considered it might be there. She pops it into her mouth then continues rummaging through her handbag until she gets to her purse.

She opens her purse, squints to protect her eyes and blows into the purse; a thick cloud of dust escapes. A very drunken man sitting at the bar with a thick sailor's beard shakingly turns his head in her direction. Clearly inebriated to the point of blindness he calls her "sexy" and offers to buy her a drink. The woman turns her head sharply away with a superiors "hmm" as if to say 'you wish, peasant'

The woman takes out several coins which had been minted several decades before and makes a grand spectacle of having to part with them. She slides them across the bar top and orders a gin.

Looking around for slightly less drunken males, she spots a couple sitting in a booth behind where she had stood at the bar. As if to suggest she deeply desires sympathy for her plight she makes sure to sigh loudly and wearily so the men could hear her. They both glance over for a moment, take one look at the moustache and quickly get back to looking and talking to each other. Not recognizing the look of 'err no' from the two men, she coughs, obviously, to get attention then sighs louder and seemingly even more wearily. The two men get up and leave the bar. Unimpressed the woman turns back to the bar for her drink. She glances to her side and the bearded man had edged himself closer and his glare had becoming decidedly more intense and grinning.

Ugh. Fine. but don't expect me to go with you until I'm as drunk as you are though.

She waddles over over to the table the two men had left, downs their drinks quickly before drinking her own. She tells the bearded man to get her another two gins and to make them large ones.

Rae served the drinks and ran around, for once wishing that her place wasn't so damn popular, and that Zizi hadn't died. Or even had pulled a bit of her weight around when she was alive. Once everyone was sorted she leaned back against the back counter and sighed. She saw the door open again and groaned. She slid down to the floor to hide. Not the most professional move, but she didn't care. She had earned a break. She reached up and blindly felt around until her fingers closed on the bottle of wine she had put there earlier. Pulling it down she pulled the cork out and took a swig. Business could clearly take care of itself, she was going to get blindingly drunk and ruminate on life.

She was bombed. Absolutely tanked, but she was happy. She heard someone come in and managed to eventually get to her feet. She peered at FatherMacklepenny- with one eye, as opening them both made the room spin and honestly, she wasn't prepared to deal with that kind of madness. She leaned against the bar aiming for casual and sexy, but was more of a awkward disaster. She tried to rest her chin in her hand, but for some reason kept missing, so she looked like she was having a fit. After a while she gave up and just asked, "And what will it be?"

At least thats what she thought she asked. Really what came out was, "whurgabela" with a stupid fucking grin on her face.

FatherMacklepenny stares in amazement at the woman that had drunkenly approached him. Thinking it unfit for a lady to be so drunk and working a bard he wanders just if he could retrieve a free drink out of the ordeal.

"Why yes madame I'd enjoy a whiskey in the rocks.the finest vintage that you have."

looking at her movements, Mack lets out a mischievous grin as he stares at the numerous bottles of liquour hanging behind the walls.

"What might you be drinking madame?"

She giggled for a second, "Rocks in your drink?" she asked, but really it came out "Rocks drunk." before she realized it was ice, the man wanted some ice in his drink. She took the few wobbly steps to the back of the bar area and reached for the scotch. But then looking over her shoulder she narrowed her eyes and very eloquently said "Whizknee." before nodding and giving him yet another goofy grin. Turning her focus back to the bottles before her she swayed a bit before reaching for the correct bottle and pulling it closer to her. She tried to get the top off it several times before sighing and just giving up. "Hard. Stuff. Meh." she muttered as she got a glass and tossed far too much ice into it. Setting the tumbler down in front of the man she grinned, "Wine." she told him before she handed him the bottle. "Wineeeee." she frowned. "But wine..." she asked looking around for her bottle. It had rolled away on the floor, empty. "Oh." she said as she walked over to it. "All gone."

frowning at the predicament he had gotten himself in to he points to a bottle of whiskey stating him down in the background

"there behind you! That bottle labeled fine whiskey from the hils of athineray.

watching the bottle roll towards his feet Mack bends over to pick it up questioning the conduct of the barkeep.

" Madame, if you don't find it a hindrance; how much might you be had to drink? I haven't seen someone as drunk as you since I sailed in on the queen Anne."

She grinned at him and grabbed a tumbler for herself. Adding those magical clear rocks to her glass she giggled and then added some whiskey to her own glass. "Two drinks." she told him as she held up three fingers. "two glorious drinks." she giggled and stooped down to pick up the second bottle of wine she had managed to finish before he came in. She gave a shrug and took a sip of her other drink and made a face, "not wine." she told him. "But still good." she nodded her head.

Mari was new to Detroit, but she was settling in just fine.  It had seemed like a whirlwind of events over the past few weeks.  Landing upon the shores of the Americas, she had been somewhat nervous to adventure out on her own away from her family.  Twenty two years old was old enough, yet still young to be on her own, dependent of no one but herself.

There was quite a bit of chaos recently in the Big Apple which had prompted the move to Detroit in search of work.  Mari smiled softly as she was learning the lingo already.  Her new family was very welcoming, making Mari feel at home the instance she walked through the doors.

Godfather-Chairman SpikeS had taken Mari under his wing, providing her a place to stay.  After several discussions, she was anxious to get out and explore the city.  Family members suggested a few places to visit, so after a couple days getting settled Mari was finally ready to venture into the city.

Mari removed cash from the sequined black clutch to pay the fare then handed it to the taxi driver once he stopped.  He thanked her as she exited the taxi, and stood on the curb looking to the left, then right.  Life had taught her to be aware of her surroundings, but in her line of work it paid to be extra alert.  She closed the taxi door before the driver sped off, obviously in a hurry to collect more dough.

Mari brushed a delicate hand down her dress smoothing it after being cooped up in the taxi for twenty minutes.  She tugged the wrap tighter around her shoulders as the cool breeze brushed against her bare shoulders.  Glancing up towards the sign, ‘Neverland Bar’, Mari was intrigued to venture inside after hearing about its unique atmosphere.

She was indeed wowed after going inside.  The lights sparkled everywhere as if sprinkling down upon the crowd.  Mari made her way towards the bar, and smiled as she glanced over the ‘ship’ design.  It was quite a unique idea.  As she took a seat on the cannon, Mari smoothed the red velvet dress then crossed her slender legs.  She preferred black apparel, but was accepting of wearing colors every now and then.

Mari couldn’t resist buying the red velvet dress the moment she noticed it this afternoon.  Elsa Schiaparelli was a very talented designer, and one of her favorites.  Even though the dress was ankle length, the garment was extremely eye catching, and fit to her slender curves.  The pleated skirt came up in a dazzling design to the waist, accentuating the bodice.

After having her drink order taken, Mari glanced around the crowd dancing to the people off in groups, to those seated at tables.  She thought back to her shopping trip when she ran into TonyCapazzoJr, an acquaintance Mari had recently met through ‘work’.  They had spoken about the places she wished to sightsee when she had time.  Tony wasn’t much older than Mari, and they had clicked as friends immediately.

She glanced back to the bartender waiting for the glass of wine she ordered.  Mari turned slightly on her seat to get a better view of the place then wondered if anyone she knew was among the crowd.

Stepping out from his car, Rossi straightened his shirt and adjusted his jacket. He gave Joey in the front seat a nod and the man pulled away. The man from LA was suited and booted, ready for a night in Detroit after a long ass flight. He knew the Neverland from a visit months ago, it had admittedly been a while.

He appreciated the lights of the city while having a smoke, it was ordinary, car horns, footsteps on the sidewalk. Inside the evening was kicking off, faces from across the country would be in attendance. He blew away the rest of the smoke and took in some fresh air for a few more moments, before stepping inside.

The lights hit him like he was pulling back the curtains after a heavy night on the sauce. The scene was vibrant, exciting and enticing. Shuffling through the crowd, he soon found the bar and the proprietor, fumbling around on the back shelf. He reached over and poked Rae in the butt.

"I'd recognise that anywhere."

With a stupid grin he tipped his hat and glanced around the room. MariettaDiStefano caught his eye, fabulous as always. Taking a few notes out of his inside pocket, he placed them on the counter and perused the liquor on offer.

The other nice man had left, leaving her with a bottle of whiskey and the rocks had long vanished. Her liver was probably going to give up and die pretty soon, but she was no quitter. She heard the door open a few times and just giggled to herself behind on the bar on the floor where she had made a bit of a nest out of left over coats and scarves. She looked around and put a finger to her lips and went "Shhhhhh" even though there wasn't actually anyone around her. At least not behind the bar. She took another sip of her drink and looked at the bottle sitting on the floor in front of her crossed legs.

Ricky had been on the road for a few days, making stops all over the country in an attempt to get some business in order and make a name for himself. He decided that since Detroit was about his halfway point, he should stop in and make a solid attempt at getting pee pants drunk, because this is America and it was the right thing to do.

Walking over towards the bar he caught a glimpse of his boss Rayln hanging out in some sort of drunken comfort zone she had built for herself behind the bar. He figured now is as good a time as any to catch up with her, so Ricky grabbed a glass and wandered over towards the drunken nest. He threw his coat on her pile as a sign of good will and held out his glass hoping she would be willing to share some of the whiskey she had clearly had her fill of.
