The sins of the city Started by: Deimne on Mar 28, '10 22:08

Thinking on what he just said, Chris realises that he isn't quite as Great as he thought.

Of course when The Rock said:

...had the Godfather needed an excuse to takedown LV he had one when NY went to war. Some of his closest friends and allies died in that war...

He meant when PH went to war. I'm obviously stressed at the thought of all the Roody-Poo Candy asses I've had to check into the Smackdown Hotel today.

I'm not sure that any of us are whining about the fact that LV was taken out. In fact I thought I made myself clear that as a base proposition, I was fine with it...such is the way of a mafioso.

They point I wanted to make, is that Deimne's explanation causes more trouble then its worth. Why cant you just say, "I took out LV because I wanted to, and I could". Who would/could argue with that? Why should Deimne ever feel the need to appease whiny little jabronis? By providing 'explanations' he has invited people to examine them and make of them what they will.

Iota, im sure your gun is strong enough to take me out...but then again so is every other gangster's...Maybe you should have Romeo send one of your true hitmen after me...or you can just stay neutral, it's your choice.

(Disclaimer: I don't really have a problem with you...I'm just seeing how far I can go before someone takes me out, haha)

Report Post Tip

I can certainly send a few after you, not a problem friend

Godfather Deimne,

First, I would like to congratulate you for the swift victory you had in bringing down Las Vegas. This was a well planned and well executed take down. Congratulations to you and to everyone who were behind this.

Now, I would like to comment on the accusations you had made about my father, balian.

The killing of the innocent young gangster by him was an honest mistake and he acknowledged that. He was also ready to pay the price of the mistake. He indeed wanted to ensure that the next of kin of the innocent gangster he killed received a fair compensation. In fact, I remember from his dairy that he had already paid the compensation to you well before the deadline that was set to him. I remember that he had desired to help the next of kin of his victim once he had reached our shores.

Also, if, instead of the fine, this had warranted my fathers death, he said to me he was ready to give his life too. The point that I would like to clarify is that it was an honest mistake and my father had acknowledged it and was ready to suffer the consequences and to the best of my knowledge, he had already paid the price of it.

Coming to the other accusation, It is a shame that one of his fellow city member turned out to be a rat. I am still surprised to see that this traitor is still left alive. May he have a long life.

The things that are spoken in private are meant to be in private. Now that it is out in the open, I would like to clarify few facts on it.

The statement he made was not even close to a threat to you or any of your city members. As I can remember, he had suffered hugely in the recent war against Philly. He was saying to me that he was not supposed to have survived that war. Philly had the advantage on power as well as in number. Fortunately, he survived and had emerged victorious in that battle. This made him think about the future. He wanted to be one of the people with highest power, and you are the one with most power. You have most certainly worked hard to reach the position you are in currently and for that we, my bloodline, respects you.

As an young, ambitious leader, he desired to be stronger than the existing leaders. The comment made by him was a mere reflection of that. This I think would be the ambition for most men with power, that they need more power. If any of the existing leader here does not wish to be the best, then I guess either they are not confident on them self or is not interested in the glory.

What surprises me is that you felt my father could have been a threat to you. This infact makes me proud that his mere existence and his ambition threatened the most powerful man around. I am proud of the way my father died. Rest in peace dad.

With this I would like to share my fathers last words.

Fellow Las Vegas Members,

It was always a pleasure to have worked with you and to have known you. Most of you were loyal and brave and were ready to sacrifice your life for family and for the City. I do not have any regrets for being ambitious. I am sad that we had been attacked when we had just barely survived a war. I am also sad that you all had to die for me. Rest in peace, Las Vegas, I or my bloodline will always remember and cherish the memories I had with you. I had, and always will be, proud of my family, my city and my Godfather.

Love,
balian

I also would like to announce that due to our family business back in our country, no one from my family will be in a position to come to this shore and become a mafioso, anytime soon.

Rest in peace, Las Vegas

Listening to the entire discussion Tyrion finally steps forward.

I'm not here to add to the already laboured topic of my Godfather's decisions. What I must address is the perception that Shasta has expressed about Deimne's account of events leading up to the elimination of Las Vegas.

Shasta you seem to think the explanation provided was some form of attempt at justification in order to win public favour and create the impression that we're 'the good guys'? Fuck no. What you have been provided with was an explanation, nothing more. No spin, no angle, just what happened and what was done about it. There has been absolutely no attempt to persuade anyone of anything. We did what we did, the facts have been laid out for any that could be curious as an act of consideration by the man that made the final call. I don't doubt he could have remained silent on the entire issue and no one on the more mentally developed side of the community would have thought any less of him.

Report Post Tip

Why else was the explanation given, if not to provide us with the basis for Deimne's decision to take out LV? Isn't that by its nature a justification? (justification: something such as a fact or circumstance that shows an action to be reasonable or necessary)

I mean, as I said, I don't really care either way. My issue remains, generally, with the post war speeches having an air of self-rightousness. I think we are all arguing the same point, just from different angles.

And Gwarble, I guess it doesn't bode well for NY now...seeing as you have taken the rat under your wing.

Report Post Tip

Shasta, you'll not that Tyrion said, "attempt at justification in order to win public favour".As Tyrion also points out, there was no gloss over it, no spin and no attempt to win public favour. Just an explanation of what went down and why Deimne chose that path. Was this explanation or any justification a necessity? Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Report Post Tip

Of course, I meant to say, "you'll note".

Report Post Tip

Your actions of having a traitor to feed you with infos is just like eating a rat's food. Guess what izt. Nothing else but rotten cheese and dog poop. You should make use of a mirror. And look at the poop and rotten cheese crumbs around your lips. Thats the trails for other 'rats' to come to you.

You did this to other people and others will do this to you as well. What goes around comes around. When the same thing happens to you, dont come back crying.

As for the traitor, my best regards to you. You dont deserve to be respected. Just wait for the fallen souls in LV to rise back. Revenge will repay itself.

To my brother, balian, its my utmost pleasure working with you. You're the best boss ever.

Report Post Tip

Hoopi, Deimne did put some spin on the situation though. He most certainly put his spin on the events leading to the takedown, i.e. balian's words. Why else bring these backroom conversations public other than to have people agree with your decisions and come across as the benevolent leader who was left with no choice?

"Las Vegas pissed me off, I took them out" - now that would be a proper victory speech.

Report Post Tip

psikill,

What are you trying to say exactly?  Why is it the fault of Deimne for protecting his family?  Was he supposed to turn his earn to what was being said? Its unrealistic to think that Deimne wouldn't take such threatening words so seriously.  You just make light of the fact that the lives of NY were threatened yesterday.

Report Post Tip

Shasta,

No offense here, but in Deimne's situation what would you have done? Would you have sat idle waiting for the time to come for LV to attack your beloved city?

Report Post Tip

You call them "rats", but I call them fiercely loyal. Why? It is very simple. Some the members in question have been around since then Don Lucretia_Borgia was in New York still. They joined Lucretia's captain, Cryptic. Though there named sponsor was Cryptic, their love was with Lucretia. Their LOYALTY was to Lucretia. Cryptic was merely a pass into her city.

They could see that life was better under Godmother Lucretia than Godfather Cryptic after she moved Philadelphia. My father Dionysus had many, many, of Cryptics members asking if they could have a pass to come with in the move. Why? Because their loyalties were still with Lucretia. We are fucking human. They were loyal to Lucretia via her captain. Whats says that just because she moved cities that these men's loyalties automatically switch over? Plain and simple they don't. A human beings loyalties should not just be able to transfer at the drop of a hat. A lasting relationship was there.

What you should be questioning instead is Cryptic's ability to lead. After the split of Lucretia and Cryptic, he had a long time to win over their loyalty. He could have won their hearts as Lucretia had done, but he failed to. These men recognized that life was better under Lucretia, so their loyalties remained as such. Human beings are not just drones; they have brains and can see a good situation when they see one.

If you want someone to blame do not blame it on a rodent. Blame yourselves and all the follies that go along with.

No, I've never said I disagreed with his decision. I've just taken issue with the method of presenting it to the public. My first post was directed at the fact that this was a smart move for Deimne to make, we were weak...why should he let us rebuild and become a threat down the road. As RIPLV stated, balians words could not have been percieved as an immediate danger...LV was in no position to strike after our war with PHI. Deimne saw an opportunity and took it...that's good leadership.

I just wanted him to say that it was calculated, and not a last resort...there is more honor in that in my opinion.

Report Post Tip

Boner listens to RIPLV and a puzzled looks come over his fave.

RIPLV, do you not see the contradiction when you say your father's words were not even close to a threat to New York and then go on to say your father was very ambitious and wished to become one of the most powerful people in this thing of ours? To be the best you have to beat the best. Godfather Deimne is the best. By your own words, RIPLV, you have confirmed that your father was indeed a threat to New York and had every reason to take those words he spoke to heart.

As for Godfather Deimne feeling your father was a threat to him, I doubt that was the case. I do think that Godfather Deimne did fear that he was a threat to me and my brothers and sisters who are still coming up in this thing of ours. Being on the winning side of the war it is usually the little guys that will feel the sting of war the most and I am very thankful that both I and my brothers and sisters were spared that by Godfather Deimne's foresight and willingness to put his life on the line to protect us.

Report Post Tip

Deimne was not wrong doing so. The major insult was to the traitor. You might have called him/her fiercely loyal. But if this happens to you. Im pretty sure you'll agree with me.

Agreeing with shasta, LV has no more strength to fight any sooner. Why strike right after we've suffered severe losses. Again, i didnt say deimne's actions was wrong. But if someone would be a traitor in LV being fiercely loyal to NY, when do you think someone would be NY's turn.

Report Post Tip

That still doesn't disprove my point. So your saying that your only mad because it happened to you.

Also, the question is not "when" but "if". Godfather Deimne, for ages, has won the respect, loyalty, and love of his cities people. Through this, he has secured that something like this would probably never happen (I say "probably" because there is always that 1% chance apparently. Heh) This is what Cryptic failed at and which lead to his down fall.

Richard throws the basketball threw a nearby window, with a loud scream from an elderly woman following the shattering of the glass. Looking at the petty thief attempting to argue, Richard pulled a sandwich out of his jacket pocket.

"YES! Why didn't we think of that. Let them rebuild so they would be capable of carrying out their plans. That was obviously the way we should have gone."

Bursting into laughter, Richard clutched his stomach, before regaining himself. "Sorry, that is a little ridiculous. Anyway, here, have a sandwich."

Chris spins round having been about to walk away and faces RIPLV.

In your opinion? In your... opinion? PIPLV or whatever your name is... in fact it doesn't matter what your name is. The Rock says this. Opinions are like assholes. Every Jabroni has one and no one wants to hear yours. In your opinion! In your opinion its more honourable for the Godfather of NY to lie in order to make you feel better than it is for him to tell the truth? The fact of the matter is, as the Rock has already stated, if Diemne had wanted to take down Cryptic, you, your momma, your little dog Toto, the mailman, the guy who drives the bus and every other jabroni in LV he had ample chance to do so backing up his friends in NY.

The fact that the Godfather didn't take down LV at that time is proof if proof were needed that in fact he held Cryptic in high regard and did not want to take your father, shine him up real good, turn him sideways and stick him straight up Godfather Cryptic's ass. When Mor was killed, he had ample excuse to kill your father outright, despite you claiming it was, much like your birth, an accident, and in doing so probably provoke Cryptic into doing something for which he too would die. When Crptic started hurling accusations at a member of New York like some maniac newspaper boy wanting to finish his round before the rain, again Diemne had every excuse to come down to LV and check you all personally into the Smackdown hotel.

Chris smiles again and sniffs something on the breeze.

As the Rock said, Opinions, assholes, jabronis and no one wanting to hear yours. What the people want is... what they all want is the Rock to raise the People's Eyebrow, they all want the Rock to drop the People's Elbow, layeth the smacketh down with the Rock Bottom, and they want to hear without a shadow of a doubt the most electrifying line in mafialand, period. And here it is... If ya SMELLLLLLLLALALALALALAOW what The Rock is cooking...

Report Post Tip

Nothing was left to say. This is the true mafia world. Its rough. But just one piece of advice. 1% means its still possible. Respect, loyalty and love isnt just everything. New players coming in every day. You just might not know who might be the next person to take NY down. When the time comes, nothing can stop it.
