Definitely a Paper
Welcome to the second edition of The Pacific Press! To say getting this paper together is a struggle, would be an understatement. Most publishers don't have to contest with their writers being routinely murdered, lost to catatonic comas and involved in protracted jail terms. Never the less, our commitment to literary excellence means we are forced to endure some of the most insufferable and temperamental shitheads in the country. Most of these bastards would be happier to let us harvest their organs than give up a few choice words on a page. This edition has been pieced together from articles collected from various journalists both living and dead. One of our staff even killed themselves but we think that was more in relation to a fit of alcoholic depression than any literary disappointment. Some, if not all of us here at Pacific towers would like to say we are fucking amazed to have managed a second edition at all. We hope you enjoy the read. Just as an FYI, I literally did nothing to contribute to this. I just rode in at the end and stole the glory. I'm the FitzChivalry of this bitch. Ed.
Whats New The Big Interview Astrology Trip Adviser Personal Ads Dear Rebel Reporter
Loads of shit happened. No but yeah, it did. Disorder made the unexpected move of removing New York and Philly. Much was said about this as it effectively wiped the entire east coast. MonsterHair decided he wanted to wipe out the South Side district of Chicago and promptly did so. Installing for RH and pro slacker Orange in the role of acting Godfather there instead. Detroit was opened up as a rental city. Any fucker can go there and be a CL if they pay rent. No really, its that mercenary. You'd think that would make people hesitant but no. I guess the "Do whatever the fuck you want to each other once you're in" rule was enough of a red rag to enough bulls and sure enough, they rolled in like it was dinner time. In no time at all the city was packed with families all trying to oust each other. One power play and then another, knives in the back, guns in the front. It was like watching Machiavelli vs Shakespeare on coke. The highlight of it all must be the spectacular duel between Gavin_Guile and Demonic- where for the first time anyone at Pacific Towers can recall, the duel ended with both men killing each other at the same time. An absolutely jaw-dropping sequence of events ending in that madness left Divina_Princeps, Hades and Middy as the last crews standing. With so much carnage Disorder intervened and rewarded Divina and Hades with their own district in LA. This move caused friction with the existing LA families and a chain of event and some heated mails lead to the blunt removal of Downtown Los Angeles. In other news, the east coast was thoroughly redeveloped. With Frankie4Fingers moving to Brooklyn and assuming the role of acting Godfather there. He worked quickly and authed StripheGotti. They were joined in the next district by Woodpecker who took hold of Manhattan. While this was going on the Chicago mobsters made their move by placing Saitama and Tonberry into Philadelphia. On a more entertaining note, fun has returned to the streets in the form of grown men and women beating each other to a bloody pulp. There is little to unite a community more than competitive violence and lord knows those scumbags in Las Vegas do it better than anyone. DanGleeballs set up a promotional fight and after Disorder had dispatched the hapless opponent he announced his retirement and handed the championship belt back to GleeBalls for the new champion to win. Along with the belt he added to the already handsome purse and with 15 million dollars and the title on the line, there was no shortage of contenders. So far the first round has been explosive and massively entertaining. At the same time LarryLongNeck was sent on a mission across the seas to take control of the Korean premier league. Having done that with consummate ease he established a mechanism for mobsters to take control of a football team for a season and along with using each franchise as an enormous money laundering opportunity, mobsters could dictate their teams, stadiums, players and all sorts. The first season of the new league is currently up and running with some interesting teams and competitors. Lots of other things happened, but its getting late and I really need a drink so you can all fuck off. Pestered Pisshead |

The instructions had been simple. Disorder had a job for her to do and had given her the smallest of briefs, a veritable thong, if you will. "Look, just find some cunt, ask a bunch of questions and get it back to me as soon as." Quality journalism, right there. Ermintrude had just the guy in mind and thankfully he agreed to be interviewed. @Malachai was an up and comer in Chicago, keen. He was PERFECT. As they met in a venue of Malchai's choosing, (apparantely this was one of his top business spots) Erm tried to hide her feeling of disdain behind a cloak of barely sustained excitement. Not wanting to linger, this interview needed done and dusted so she could get home and shower. Somehow Malachai's company made her feel dirty and not in the good way. Refusing a drink (YES REFUSING) Erm finally settled and began the interview: Ermintrude: Your lineage spreads way across time, not unlike your familial unibrow and almost as far as @EasyApproach's mum's legs. How would you describe the progression of your line through the generations here? Was there a consistent message or item that has been passed on to each subsequent member of your family? Malachai: Oh for fuck sakes these are real questions? I did not sign up for this. I write fucking tabloids. The rolling of Ems eyes was visible to her entourage. I think the long standing message I've always tried to pass down is at the end of the day. Life is short. Live life to the fullest, find people to make you happy. Have much coffee with them, fill said coffee up with as much whiskey as you can get, divulge way too much, have them judge you and have them all judge you. Those are the people who will be the most loyal to you the people you can truly, madly and deeply die along side with no regrets. And once all of that is gone, no matter what the circumstances, those memories will always be passed down through journals and stories of great conquest, foolery and massive good times. Even when bloodlines are far away in the old country and beyond, that is really what this is all about in the end. She tried her best to look interested, nodding and mooing in the right places. "Fascinating!" Erm: What do you say to the gossip that the so called brothel that you run is used solely by yourself? Mal: ....A man has needs. And when you come from a linage like this money flows to the point of reinvesting in future generations. Erm: So you are putting pay to the rumours that you have indeed lost your virginity, got it. Mooving on...With your recent rise to the acclaimed spot of Crew Leader, would you say that your elevated status has made you more attractive to the laddies? Mal: I'm usually more fond of the Lassies but if TsuDohNimh's blood line ever returns I would hope my new found power will help me get some. Soft spot for the Irish as I'm sure you would understand Erm: Now please, we are dying to know. Considering your family history, in the face of adversity and with their tendency do die shortly after auth...Do you feel, at last, you can do your ancestors proud? Mal: After auth? Every time has been before. Also always falling short of the upper echelon of ranking. I'm on the cusps of reaching every goal that my forefathers have dreamt of. I'd like to think we have one of the most booming families of the 6 cities. I've been half expecting a rogue to pop up to end the dream early but I get by with a little help from my friends and the support of the community. I hope that there are many people right now that would be looking down and smiling at what I've accomplished. Erm: Finally, the question that has been on everyone's mind. Do you think you could beat @Lillith in a dick swinging competition? Mal: No one can fuck with Lillith's dong. It is not to be trifled with. It's a regular Hoover Dam. And there you have it folks, an insight into the mind of a no name C trying to make it to the top. Ermintrude drops the mic and plods off for a well earned drink.

Thor's Hammered 10490 W Cheyenne Ave Las Vegas, NV 89129
All the buzz has been about Thor's Hammer of late, and quite frankly going into this I had no idea why. My first step in the door I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the number of people coming and going. As the door opened for one patron to leave it seemed like 3 or 4 more would enter. Established in March, the business was a local hot spot for various members of the Los Angeles crime families. The surrounding areas really had a Downtown, LA kind of feeling. Lots of Spanish being spoken, taco stands like Tacos El Fuego, and shifty looks at the innocent looking man with just a bandanna over his face , a large brimmed hat on his head and an overcoat to deal with the brutal desert winters Las Vegas experiences in the month of May. I even took the time to ask a local mobster about her opinion on the establishment and this is what "There are people outside of the Strip?!?" Obviously I didn't try very hard for a quote, but it's hard to pass up an opportunity to put a candid speaker in the spotlight they deserve. Jokes aside, the establishment looks a little run down on the outside but I was very pleasantly surprised to find an almost working toilet, an almost fully functional record player playing my favorite jazz, and a bartender named Flinn or something whose eyes are only as intimidating as an up close viewing of the barrel of a .45. I was paralyzed by his stair long enough that I might've been robbed or taken advantage of and not even noticed. Now the accommodation itself: BAR AREA: Despite the scary bartender, it was fully stocked and clean despite the dustiness of the windows. Drinks were stronger than I was expecting, so I'll give it a perfect score. There was enough room for me to have a bit of elbow space, enough seating for a couple of floozies to accompany guests without bothering another customer too much. BOOTHS: The booths were sticky, but a worker assured me they were sticky with blood rather than the typical bodily fluids... so I give it a passing grade. Plus they were darkly lit enough that I would consider bringing a business partner there with full confidence we could have full privacy if needed, without paying for a VIP setting. BATHROOM: The festering pits filled with human excrement are a biological hazard. Be prepared to go to the bathroom outside or across the street if the local post office is still open and not being robbed. KITCHEN: There was a man grilling things behind the building which had a unique flavor I'd never tasted before. He kept laughing with every bite I took. I'm hoping I ate dog meat at this point... PRICES: Entry fee was rather steep. (EDIT: I've now been informed there is no entry fee. I was conned.) Other than that the drinks were bordering on severely under priced, the blow was fairly priced and the hookers a block away weren't the best looking but weren't particularly pricey either. Definitely a bargain as far as night life goes if you're looking to stretch a dollar. LADIES NIGHT: I'm no longer welcome in this establishment, but I've been told there's a ladies night on Wednesdays where ladies get discounts equal to how far off their tops are. Caution to men looking for this discount... they will toss you out and ban you for life should you take your shirt off, start rubbing your nipples and telling the bar tender your good friend Pollution says it's sexist to only give discounts to the female clientele on any night of the week.
All in all, it was a night neither I nor my lawyer will forget any time soon. The Lost and the Curious |

Dear Not Salty, Salty..... like the taste that lingered on my lips as the ocean waves rolled gently over us as we lay in the sand.... embraced as one... the sounds of the shores and the birds interrupted only by the cries of hot passion as I invaded her.................... never before had I felt so alive.... which is so much better than the alternative... which is being dead. Hope that makes sense. It was an imbecilic question. Sympathies, Judith Romance
The next question is from notorious LA mobster AnthonyBlack.... who presented his question in the streets here.... at a scene where a display of unbelievable passion had just taken place...
Dear Mr. AnthonyBlack, Ah yes... inappropriate... like the forbidden fruit of a woman.... like indulging in decadence. Romance radiates love and passion on the streets.... pleasures beyond any woman's wildest dreams. Only the lamest of bores would find this to be unfitting for their streets... the same very streets where crime and violence and murder are commonplace. What I offer and deliver is a far superior and appealing product... an escape from the horrors of our lives of crime.... and when all is said and done, and my viewers have stimulates their senses to completion.... I give to them self-satisfaction....... I hope this answers all questions, and thank you kind sir... With Regards, Romance
Dear Curiosity Cat, If you look into his mail, you would be doing the same thing to his privacy that I do to the body of a woman..... invading it.... Yours forever, Romance
Dear Looking For Love, Do not fret.... and don't be hard on yourself....... you have fallen in love with love, but the reason that love doesn't love you back has nothing to do with you...... it's just that love has fallen in love with another........ and that person is me......... Forever yours, |

Head for the Light
Who the hell knows how I got here. Though where here was, is still a mystery. Locked room, grey cement walls, interrogation light burning a hole in my headache. I struggled to open my eyes. Was it concussion? Was I dreaming? There was a loud clunking sound and the inconsiderate metal door screeched painfully open. I made out a silhouette, pushing a paper cup of coffee across the table in front of me before it turned and left. The steam from the coffee is warm but so is the throbbing in my head. I close my eyes and make a concerted effort to remember what the hell happened. *** I recall I got into the silver space-ship and did what the white coated man had instructed. I pushed the correct sequence of hieroglyphic buttons and esoteric lights as the cockpit door was clamped shut above me. There was a subsonic roar that made my teeth shake before it settled into a low hum that left a not unpleasant tingling in my anus. Still questioning what this might mean for my more intimate futures, I pressed the final button marked 'engage'. Memory after that became increasingly patchy. I know the explosion of sound and thrust was astonishing. I felt like the entire world kicked me in the back as the beast surged forward. My eyes sank firmly back into my skull and the sockets became little more than pools of tears in the front of my head. The deafness caused by the thunderclap of the jet engine brought no escape from the sound inside my skull as all seven circles of hell consumed me. Nothing in Dante's Inferno came close to the blind terror and bloodless, airless compression I was experiencing. I knew there was supposed to be a window in this thing but the notion of seeing anything more than blurred light was absurd. Eventually my body caught up with the machine and my eyes began to clear. I looked around for some information that made sense. As best I could make out, the craft was still on the ground and if the dials were to be believed I was travelling fast enough to see God. The thing seemed to be on auto pilot, I had forgotten all of the white coat's instruction. Anything was possible now. Space-time had been folded, I'd gone down the black hole and into the dimension beyond. The sustained pressure of incredible acceleration had me feeling faint. I heard the soft song of transcendent angels welcoming me into the never. I let go and passed out into welcoming death. *** The lancing pain followed by hot flush across my cheek woke me. It was the familiar sensory pattern of being slapped. Enough angered ladies had given me a wealth of experience in that sensation. This was different though. The thick rough skinned male hand crashed into my face again. My eyes opened and through the blur I could make out the ominous green drab of a military arm attached to the slapping hand. "Alright. I'm awake. Jesus Christ man! Whats the matter with you people?" A predictably humorless face hoved into view. My eyes had cleared but I wished they hadn't. This was the face of no escape. All angles and no love. A standard issue military face, designed by a childhood of abuse and an adulthood of emotionally retarded revenge. This bastard represented everything that had gone wrong with this country. No wonder the rest of the world hated us. If this was the sort of face that jumped off the boats, stuck a gun in their faces and demanded they accept our ideology or perish, there was no hope for us. The lifeless eyes glared at me.
'What happened to the machine?' "What?" 'The giant silver craft you landed in our test area. Where is it?' "Look man, I don't know who you are or what this is. I was out in the desert quite happily doing mescaline with a Hualapai tribesman and now I'm here. I'm not sure what the hell happened in between." 'The craft stopped, several men hooked it up to a trailer and drove away before we could get out there. When we got to the location you were lying on the floor unconscious. You have a lot to answer for, son.' "Now you listen to me! I'm not your son and I don't care for your tone. You kidnap me, put me in this grey cement hell hole, slap me around and get hissy because I don't know what you're talking about? I'll tell you now, Captain Confusion, I don't have to answer shit. I don't know what the hell you are talking about and as far as I can make out your trying to blame me for something that happened in my general vicinity while I was asleep. I might be more helpful if it wasn't for this whole theatrical gestapo fiasco. You haven't so much as offer me a smoke!"
The firm hand of stupidity met my face again and my jovial host left the room. I tried to figure out what had happened and why. He said the car had been taken away. Was that by the mob? The lab coats? Someone else? Had I failed? Succeeded? I had no point of reference, everything was an abstract. This could all still be a chemical fantasy though that possibility was more a hope now than a genuine possibility. All I knew was I had to keep stone walling these fascists until I could get out of here. Some time went by, felt like years, then the metal door screamed open again. A different but similarly regrettable set of features walked in. 'You are being released.' "ABOUT GOD DAMN TIME!" 'You've been here less than an hour.' "How would I know?" The bastard raised an eyebrow and then seemed to accept the piercing truth of my statement. He grabbed my arm in the way I'd imagine a hillbilly farmer might grab the leg of an escaping sheep, then drag-marched me down a series of confusing corridors. Eventually we arrived at a black door. There were a couple of buzzing noises then the red light turned to green and the door cracked open. The blinding shard of daylight that burst in, cut through the grey like a knife and split me head in two. My eyes wept blinded tears and I was unceremoniously shoved in the back, out into the dust and the sun. The heavy door clanked shut behind me and I spun to see where I was. Rubbing the flying sand and pain from my eyes I saw a concrete tunnel working it's way into the side of a hill. Either direction as far as I could see there was no sign of the complex I was just in. The entire thing was underground in this hill. I turned back to see what lay ahead of me. Wide open desert. The featureless expanse disappearing into heat haze on the horizon. I had no choice, I had to walk and I was pretty sure the safest direction was the exact opposite of the way I'd come. I set off and started rifling through my pockets for anything that may help steady my nerves. I found a half broken cigarette and after tucking my head inside what remained of my red Hawaiian shirt, I managed to get it light. That lung full of sweet black tar felt so god damn good I nearly wept. I went through my other pockets and to my absolute delight I found two little viles of the Benzedrine leftover from the day before. I inhaled them both immediately and suddenly my entire outlook shifted. I may not be safe, I may be lost but my god was I enthused about the whole thing! If only I had someone to spend four hours talking to about this with furious narcotic intensity, they were bound to appreciate it. Just then my hyper-sensitive tweaky eyes saw something emerging from the haze. I was relieved when it wasn't silver and was travelling at less then three thousand miles an hour. No, this was slow moving and black. It came closer and closer. It was clearly a car, I wasn't concerned who was in it, so long as they could get me out of here and listen to my enthralling story. The car swung around and pulled up in front of me. The door opened and the familiar sight of grim mob faces greeted me. My heart sank. 'Get in.' "I don't want to."

Tremendous effort and a huge thank you to all those who helped pull this together. You've done a spectacular job and I'm glad so many diverse voices have had the opportunity to express themselves. However, given that up to now I've been doing a solid DanGleeballs impression this issue (sliding into a role I did nothing to earn), having contributed as many sentences to this as Disorder has hairs on his sparsely populated pate, I suppose I should step it up a tad and not be a total weasel. That was another DanGleeballs reference, fyi, not a very sophisticate one, but he's a total fucking weasel and it needed to be said. Now, to stick to this theme a little longer, when I suggested I was going to avoid "pulling a Dan" in our office and actually write something, I was generally dismissed or otherwise ignored. These people have worked with me before and unfortunately realised long ago that whilst I'm the dominant force in everything lower than the chin and above the shoulders, I lack a certain..."can do" attitude. I mean well, but generally disappoint, sadly, and whilst I have extremely strong skull support, my commitment generally wavers. However, this time I was determined and once they had gotten over their shock at my offer, I was given carte blanche to write anything my heart desired and that just so happened to be a tribute. Why a tribute? Well, firstly I'm ingrained in the Mafia and tributes are a way of life and secondly, I'm also a professional mourner and like to wail my balls off at funerals, so marrying the two seemed as natural to me as a temper tantrum to a certain former South Side, Don. I'll therefore be choosing a subject or subjects, living or dead and extol upon their virtues as great members of this thing of ours, in what I like to call The LongNeck Tribute. And this week, my tribute is to....
It isn't often that a guy has both an exceptionally long neck and more than a passing ability in water sports, but fortunately for you guys, LarryLongNeck is one such example of this remarkable package and I've been putting my talents to good use. I have been skillfully surfing my way through all the thrills this pair have been bringing to the streets over the past few weeks and I must say, I'm above all else flat out impressed by Romance's high level hard-to-get game. He has been fighting off the advances of the absolute dimepiece that is Mave_The_Fox, all in order to regale us with tales of his prowess. I mean, she's literally throwing herself at him, inviting him to pickpocket her with abandon, and she's a 10 too; lets not make any bones about it, with her pearly white fangs and chest tattoos, but then here's old Romance, just powering past, slinging vicious dick all across the country. And why? Because he realises he's too much for any one woman and he's taking the higher path; the one paved in vagina. It is this selfless attitude, set in amongst what may well be the most well known unrequited love story of our time, that earns this pair the LongNeck Tribute. And on that note, I'm out. I hope you've enjoyed this and whilst I suspect I may not be asked to contribute again, if I do, you can be sure another tribute is just around the corner. |

Darkwing was in Las Vegas, it was raining but that didn't really bother him because he was waterproof as fuck. He was going for a walk down the strip when he noticed a man in front of the casino handing out news papers. He grabbed one from the man and kept walking. A little while later Darkwing got back to his hotel for the night, still carrying the paper he had grabbed earlier. He had almost forgot about it until he tried to take off his shoes and it fell out from under his wing. So he sat down and decided to give it a read. 'The Pacific Press II' Hmmm, he had never heard of it. Not much else to do right now though. So he lit a smoke and sat down and kept reading. It was a very well written paper, had I'm laughing for a good while too. "I am going to have to remember to look for this next time I'm in Vegas." Darkwing said.. to himself obviously since he was in a room alone... Darkwing wasn't usually one to spend more than a few minutes reading, his attention span was not one of his strong suits. So the fact that this paper kept him engaged all the way to the end really goes to show how well done it was done. |

Hades had just returned from a quick trip to the underworld to check his other businesses were still in order. When he reached the gates to his HQ the guards had stopped a scrawny little kid on a bicycle. 'Let him through he's harmless' The kid proceeded to cycle along and handed Hades his newspaper and rid off. Moments later he was sitting at his desk with a pack of biscuits he'd been dipping in he's tea with a smile that was struggling to leave his face. He noticed that there was a comments section with a return address and he wanted to say his thanks. There have been many authors who have come to the streets and presented us with news. And I have to say that this was a brilliant read and would like to thank all those involved in bringing us this news and entertainment. It was truly a fantastic read. Thank you Hades ended the comment, sealed it with an envelope and ordered his guards to deliver it to the relevant people. They deserved recognition for their hardwork. |

Chilling at a local coffee house Saitama reads the paper from Vegas and can't help but laugh it's pretty entertaining and hope the next edition comes sooner. He sips on his cappuccino and thinks would be amazing if the had Super Bargin Deals listed. Folding up the paper he places it on the table beside him for whomever else wants to read. |

He sat down on the bench crossing his leg at the ankle and leaned back, enjoying the beautiful summer weather. It was such a change for the grey misery of England, that he had yet to spend more than a few hours indoors since he got off the boat. He put his hand down and noticed a paper there with a rather recent date. Picking it up he looked it over, nodding his head. He wondered if his cousin had seen this yet. He folded it in half and tucked it under his arm before getting to his face. He would just have to track the impish woman down, since she did enjoy keeping him waiting. |
