The Blackhawk Restaurant Started by: Isabella-Luciano on Jul 02, '18 01:00

It was great night, calm little cold weather, clear sky and you can the sparkles of the stars as they look like heaven, although Heartless was alone and feeling lonely but he decided to go and treat himself a good dinner, he walked in the streets wearing his suit looking for a place that he heard about, it was a place that everyone was talking about in the town, a place where a night means great fun and delicious food, he was looking for The Blackhawk Restaurant.

Heartless finally reached the restaurant, he stepped in looking how great the place is, he walked to a table that gave him good view on most if the restaurant details, he sat for a while and just before he opened the menu he decided to not look at the menu,

"Please I want the best dinner you can offer for a hungry stomach which like all types of food" he said to waiter and sat thinking about himself and his life, he was barely catching his tears and himself from crying, he covered that with a smile while he was looking around the place and waiting for his food.

Joe had decided to stop in for a nice meal, knowing that he could enjoy some nice food, he knew that there was nothing better to do in the great city of Detroit, he had already bought a priceless amulet that he planned to give to the woman of his admirations, nothing more than she deserved, he knew that she had deserved the best, now it was only the time to decide when he should give it to her, for now, he would enjoy the dinner that he wanted to have with his business associates, knowing that they would not want him to sit here and mope as he thought about the girl.

"You know Joe, is this the only restaurant that your family knows of?"

To be fair, Joe did blush as he realized that his family had many business associates over in this staple restaurant of Detroit. He was a fan of the place, along with the family environment that it had. He sat down at a booth, looking at his business associate of the Irish Gang that he had recently aligned with to take down the councilman Renard.

"It seems so Finan, anyway, what are ya having? Let's enjoy the day and see what pops off, we can very well see if there are opportunities to make money."

Report Post Tip

Finan chuckled for a single second before sobering up with a smile coming through, he had heard of the Pavanno's and their favorite restaurants, he did not know if he should feel honored or slightly afraid that his business here might be something else. He knew that the man never had intentions that would put his alliance with them in harm's way, that was something unimaginable and something that could easily start a war between the Italians and Irish, which would not be needed with the Police hovering over Pavanno like he was about to drop the ball.

"Aye, to the future and what comes from it, indeed. I'll just be having water and some breadsticks for starters, something tells me that you're not here to woo me Mr. Pavanno"

Joe chuckled with his eyes twinkling a little, he leaned forward, his arms folding over one another before noticing that the same pianist that always seemed to be playing when he had entered the restaurant, he had also noted that this was the same pianist that always seemed to be playing back when his brother had visited this place. He found it odd that the man was not retired from this place, eh, it did seem to make him happy though and Joe could hardly fault the man for that.

"I've recently come into possession of a priceless Amulet, I wanted to know if you have seen or heard of it before now."

He reached inside his inner coat pocket, pulling out the black box that contained the Ruby Amulet and he passed it cautiously over to Finan, who continued to eye him suspiciously, wondering why Joe was acting like this if he had acquired it professionally.

"That's an amulet of royalty Joe, how did this small shop come into this? It belongs to the Royal family of England, how could you not recognize it?"

Joe did not want to believe it, he had instead inspected the Amulet more closely, finding that Finan was right, so how did this Amulet of Royalty find itself in America? Why was it here? How did the Royal family not know? He wanted to find out, he knew that he could go to only one man, or he would have, if Finan did not stop him with a look, clearly having more to say.

Joe sat back, drinking his water before leaning forward again to listen to the council of Finan O'Riley.

Report Post Tip

"I don't know how the fuck they got it, all I know is the guy seemed shifty as fuck and he was looking around the room like he was trying to find his balls. I paid a hefty sum for this beauty and I ain't losing Fin, not a day will go by that this little thing ain't with me. I don't trust these common goons who wanna make a quick buck."

Joe made it clear as Finan looked at him with wide eyes, he did not expect the man to make it this clear, business made them money, yet this business, well it could put them on the world's most wanted list and Finan wasn't talking about the feds or the fucking Royal family, he was talking the gangs, common hoods, and other fuckers who wanted to make money off of this Royal Amulet.

"Joe, I'm saying that you gotta watch out. I'm assigning you a guard, I don't give a fuck, no one leaves without you now. That thing, that amulet is not something to scoff at or show off, it's one of the priceless artifacts and you found it at a Jewelry Store owned by Raylan Vilmont? Something doesn't seem right, I want you to come with me, have that thing checked out, something doesn't make sense, alright?"

Joe looked down at the amulet, it seemed and looked real, Finan and his suspicion could very well be right, something was up and it seemed to have something to do with that sketchy assistant who may have just swindled him out of 'hefty' sum of cash, something told him that his days of business was about to start heating up once again.

"Alright, I get it, let's eat though, I don't want to go home without having some steak and mash, alright?"

Finan laughed heartily as he raised his glass in cheers, calling over a waiter so they could truly start enjoying the night out with a friend but also, discuss more business, it never stopped, for anyone.

Report Post Tip

As they finished each of their meals, the table had gotten quiet once the waiter had left, Finan looked to Joe in worry, he could see that the man did not like being made a fool of. He had already shown that side of him when the Councilman had involved his family, it was a message, not just to the councilman, to all of them, they should and would not stoop to the level of the councilman should they become enemies of Joe Pavanno. Otherwise, bodies would be dropped and business would begin anew, only, without them.

Finan had not let the man before him know that he made him nervous and for good reason, no one had gotten off with making the people of higher society quake in their boots like the way Joe Pavanno did, most of those people would have been in jail for such an act, yet here the legitimate business owner and big boss stood, ordering dinner and drinking without a care in the world. Finan knew that he had been staring too long when Joe himself had coughed, bringing him out of his little thoughts.

"I can see you're afraid Finan, I've noticed it in O'Neal, Cain, and Koneko have also made themselves scarce with me. They presumed me to be legitimate and that is the thing with this life, everyone is a businessman. Anyone can say that they are wanting to change the way we are seen, yet they can only mean it if they want to make certain sacrifices."

Joe had a sip of his water, clearing thinking over what to say next that might change how Finan viewed him, even a little. He placed his glass back down, resting his hands down on the table as he closed his eyes to the soft playings of the pianist.

"I was once a boss, I was once a man of your world, I wanted to get out, only it does not allow you to get out, the only way you get out is in a box and I have already survived an attempt on my life. I do not intend to die yet, remember that, I have much that needs doing."

Joe opens his eyes, staring straight in the blue eyes of the man opposite him, he found that Finan seemed to be wary or at least, a bit skittish of him, something that he knew was happening due to the recent murder of an innocent woman.

"And with the things I am doing, I have to make sacrifices, my honor as a man in this world or my honor as an Uncle, this is why I did what I did, not for hatred or for the simple thrill of it, because my honor as an Uncle came before my honor as a man in this world, someday, you may just understand."

It was a windy evening when LonelyWolf street-walking finally took a break when he reached the Blackhawk retsaurang, he opens the door, wlaks in and take off his jacket and give the doorman and walks then in and sits down and takes a deep breath and shakes after it since he just killed a MIA who werent guilty in his eyes.

"Hey, says he to the waiter who just came to his table I would like to have some good food so please give me your todays menue and a big glas of lager beer to thanks"

Frank returned to the Blackhawk.  He was seated at a table for two and handed a menu you.  He glanced over the think and then looked at the young lady that was taking his order.  He ordered the porter house steak and scalloped potato's with broccoli in a light cheese sauce.  He order two heavily butter dinner rolls and a bottle of Risata Moscato.  Then he handed the menu back to the young woman.

He sipped on his glass of ice water while he waited.  He looked at the people that eat around him and wondered what did they all do for a living and how would they react if they knew what he did for a living.   Then he looked at the wives he thought was pretty and wondered how many could he get for just a night fling.  Shanking his head he made eye contact with most of them and they seemed interested at him as they smiled. He smiled back knowing they he was better dressed and looked far more handsome then the clowns they were with.

Then his food arrived and the leaned back as he looked everything over.  It all met with his approval.  Frank then wondered if the owner would swing in he had not seen Bella in a while.  He then thought of a young woman in his family and shook his head he looked at his plate and started cutting up his meat then he started eating.

Stefano entered the Blackhawk with three other men.  They were seated at a table handed a menu's.  Stefano glanced over the menu and then looked at the young men  around him they were all close in age.  They grew up in New York and fought together and with each other yet they remained the best of friends.  They all placed there orders and the young waitress smiled as she wrote it all down.  He ordered the porter house steak and scalloped potato's with broccoli in a light cheese sauce.  Ray ordered steak and eggs, Rob ordered pork chops and rice, Pete ordered steak and fries with garlic bread.  Stefano ordered a bottle of Risata Moscato for the table.  Then they handed the menu back to the young woman.

They sipped on the wine as that was brought out first while he waited.   They started talking about the people that eat around them and started betting on what some of them did for a living.  Then the four started talking about women and the women in their lives from mom's to girlfriend and from sisters to aunts.   Shanking his head he made eye contact with a few women in the place and they seemed more interested in him then he was with them.  He knew Rain would have him chopped up if he did something stupid.  He smiled back knowing that they would never see each other again as they were heading back to Chicago soon.

Then their food arrived and Stefano leaned back as he looked everything over.  It all met with his approval.  Stefano said grace over the food and the men ate.  Stefano met the owner once and wished that they could have a sit down once more.  Isabella-Luciano was a brilliant woman.

Entering, felt like home... mom had come often. I could almost smell her perfume as I walked to my table. I almost forgot she was not here for a second. I asked for her table, as well...well not " her table" as I was not sure if they all would know her here. Just the table away from all the people so she could be hidden from everything and clear her head, well and get things done too. (Whatever those things were, I never knew) I ordered a caesar salad with chicken and chicken gnocchi soup...something I didn't have to cut up or anything. Now...to drink...hmmm...white wine sounded good....when the waitress came to place my order, I gave all of that I had decided to her. I could see why mom loved this place....this was another connection to her too.. to my family. Family is everything to me. This place is beautiful, and entertaining.Mom was was heavily connected to Detroit at one time....I can still feel as if she is still here.

Eva smiled politely at the doorman that met her at the entrance of The Blackhawk Restaurant. Upon entering, she was immediately taken in by the decor and energetic atmosphere provided by the live music. A cute young woman greeted her from the hostess stand.

"Good evening, Miss. Have you got a reservation?"

"Yes, Dr. Eva Hadley."

The hostess scanned her list momentarily and then nodded.

"Of course, here you are, Dr. Hadley. I see there are two on the reservation- shall I seat you now and bring your guest to the table?"

"That would be lovely, yes."

Before following the hostess, she shrugged off her coat and gave it to another staff member. The restaurant was buzzing with patrons chatting and dancing, and servers bringing delicious looking foods to tables. As they wound through the place, Eva was surprised to be heading for a table so near to the stage. As she took her seat, a waiter appeared with a glass of champagne and a menu. Settling in, Eva nodded her thanks and took in the view while she waited for the somewhat mysterious Roxanne LeRoux.

Report Post Tip

Her time in Chicago had proven rather fruitful. She had made befriended some influential strangers and sampled some delectable cuisine. All in all a rather educational excursion. Roxanne hoped that the second stop on her journey would prove to be much the same.

As she stepped in through the doors, she sashayed straight over to the hostess. "Roxanne LeRoux here for Doctor Eva Hadley."  She said, and rested a gloved hand on her hip as the other grasped a jade cigarette holder delicately between her fingers while she impatiently puffed away. Tsk-ing away at the delay, she tried to convince herself that she would not have been so rude if she had not been absolutely famished.

Once the hostess located the corresponding reservation and escorted her to her table she offered her thanks dripping in sarcasm.

"Bonjour Médecin Hadley. I am Roxanne LeRoux. You received my letters." She offered her hand to the woman for a shake as she offered a polite greeting before sitting down. "I hope I am not causing an imposition by asking your assistance so suddenly. Mon Dieu! I would not forgive myself if I have pulled you away from important work." She commented and placed her hand seemingly in regret against her heart for emphasis.

Seeing a rather stunning woman being escorted to her table, Eva stood and smile warmly. She took the woman's offered hand and shook it, then gestured toward the elegantly upholstered chair.

"Not at all, Mademoiselle LeRoux. In fact, your reaching out to me saved me from another night of trapping myself in my office and working. I'm very happy to meet you. Please, call me Eva."

The same waiter appeared and set a glass of champagne and a menu in front of Roxanne. After giving her a moment to settle in, Eva took a sip of her own champagne and then spoke.

"What brings you to our fine city of Detroit?"

Report Post Tip

"If you insist that I call you Eva, I must insist that you call me Roxanne, Médecin."  Roxanne said with a polite smile as she reached into her bag and pulled out a silver cigarette case. Pulling one out from the neat stack she attached it to a jade holder and placed it against her lips. Igniting the end with her ivory lighter, she turned her attention to the woman in front of her. "Magnifique Eva! I am delighted to find you so enthused to accompany me tonight. A woman capable of looking as délicieux as you do right now, should not be wasting away her nights indoors. You should be out seducing éligible les bacheliers." She teased playfully as she took a drag of the cigarette and picked up the glass of champagne by the stem.

She raised the glass to eye level and swirled to check for consistency before lowering to assess the scent. Maintaining a stoic look as her mind calculate the variables and allocated relevant scores, Roxanne responded. "Would you believe me if I told you the food and the alcohol have brought me to Detroit?"

Raising her glass again for a toast she said. "To intriguing strangers and their secrets. À votre santé." Tilting back the utensil, she took a brief sip and swirled the liquid in her mouth, fully savouring it and gulping it down. "What about you Eva? Have you always lived in Detroit? Or has the lust for something or someone pulled you here?"

Report Post Tip

Settling back in her seat with her glass, Eva smirked a bit.

"An elegant woman such as yourself in search of good food and drink? Yes, I could believe that- but alone? That I find a little more surprising."

Eva raised her glass as well and nodded, then answered the woman's inquiry.

"I am originally from Harlow, just outside of London, actually. My Mother was Greek and my Father British. I came to Detroit after medical school as a junior surgeon at St. Andrews Hospital. Now, I'm working privately for a businessman in the area. It's far more exciting than everyday appendectomies, anyway."

A sip of champagne, then another, and she turned the questions back to her dining partner.

"And you, Roxanne? A native of France, I venture?"

Report Post Tip

"I always travel alone Mademoiselle. Why stick to someone else's schedule or limit yourself to their whims. How then would I meet étrangers intéressants such as yourself?" She replied and took a brief sip of the champagne. Something felt odd to her, so she checked the label of the liquor bottle. Hidden beneath the name of the vineyard and the ear of the vintage was the phrase 'Made In America'.

"J'ai pensé ainsi. Ce n'est pas du champagne, juste un vin mousseux produit localement." She muttered under her breath and replaced the bottle. Not wanting to offend her host by criticizing her tastes and her knowledge, she decided not to voice her objections. Instead she subtly shifted her barely consumed glass of alcohol to a side and smiled politely.

"Mon Dieu Mademoiselle! You must have suffered from a severe case of ennui to abandon the Greek and the British isles for a private job here in Michigan, no matter how lucrative it was." She suggested and gazed deep into Eva's eyes, trying to look past the wall she had erected to see if she could venture into her vault of secrets.

A dry chuckle escaped her throat at the next question and she reluctantly turned her gaze away from Eva's eyes. "What gave it away Eva? I even left my beret and my poodle at home. Was it the smoking or the rudeness?" She teased and pointed out some of the stereotypes she had come across before, but she added a playful wink to show she took it all in good fun.

Report Post Tip

The beret and poodle comment did it. Eva put her empty champagne glass on the table and laughed freely. Not overly loudly, but more than she'd laughed in weeks.

"Oh, I can already tell that I like you, Roxanne."

Before she could even gesture, the wine steward brought the champagne bottle back and refilled her glass.

"Michigan wasn't exactly my first choice, it was simply the choice that needed me most. My mother and father were both doctors, and spent their careers in missionary and philanthropic work. When I finished medical school, I knew I wanted to go where my training was most needed. A mentor of mine sent my unforgettable to the chief surgeon at St. Andrew's. Naturally, the man was skeptical of a female surgeon, so I was put on the night shift of the emergency department. But, after a few years I proved myself and became a junior surgeon."

She took a long sip of wine and rolled her eyes slightly.

"I still find it hard to believe that men are so stunned when a woman can do their jobs just as well or better. Bull - headed lugs, the lot of them."

Aurora Byrne walked into the club she'd heard so much about her whole life, the place that had once been her mother's crown jewel when she was a Don in the Motor City.  She handed her jacket to the coat check and revealed herself to be wearing a stunning red dress with cut-outs on either side, a darling strapless gown that hung long to the floor giving her the illusion of height which she did not possess.  She felt beautiful in the dress, even if her feet were in utter agony in the heels she'd forced them into.

Her dinner invitation to Don Billy_Mastrosimone had likely been delivered and now all that was left to do was wait for her companion to show... or not show.  She suspected that hell would have to freeze over for him to miss a chance for food and to see her, but there was always the possibility that work would keep him away.  He was a Don after all.  She couldn't expect him to drop everything simply because she found a really great dress she wanted to show off.

"Gin fizz, please?"  She said to the bartender, leaning against the bar listening to a familiar song.  A song she very much associated with Billy, in fact.  She hummed along with 'It only happens when I dance with you.'  A smile flittered across her lips as she stared out across the dance floor daydreaming of how the night might yet go.

Billy had gotten word that Aurora was in town and was supposed to be meeting with Alucard. Afterward she had invited him to dinner. For Billy that meant he had a dinner date, and that everything else was cancelled.

So he put on a new suit early in the evening and made his way to the restaurant he had almost come into possession of. He had specifically avoided the place since that fateful evening. He had a feeling of dread that he might regret his decision, and so it was his fears were realized when he walked in. The place was stunningly beautiful, as was the music and the people. Now he just had to find where Aurora was.

He made his way to one of the maitre d.

"I understand you have a special guest tonight, the proprietor's daughter. Any chance you might point me in her direction?"

He man behind the stand simply shook his head at Billy. Clearly he wasn't going to be of any help. Too loyal. Damn.

Instead Billy found himself wading through the place looking for a woman who was too small by half to easily be found.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

"From the gentleman at the end of the bar."  The bartender said as he put down a second gin fizz.  She half-expected to spot Billy at the end of the bar instead found a smiling man of maybe 22.  He had a pretty smile, but his face was a little soft for her liking.  No hard edges, as if he'd lived a very comfortable life and never known any struggle.  If he was put to the test in any real way, his sort would break.  Oh, likely he had money by the look of him, but money alone wasn't power.  Aurora gave him a polite nod hoping that would be the end of it.

Of course, it wasn't.

The young man came down to sit on the stool beside her.  "Your feet must be tired..."  He began his line.

Aurora decided to catch him off guard and said, "You have no idea."

The man did a doubletake.  "They are?"

Aurora nodded.  "But not because I've been in your mind all day... in fact, the gentleman I'm waiting for will probably tell you quite bluntly that I've been dancing in his mind all day."

She almost felt bad with how hard she'd shut him down, the man blushed so much so that his color went nearly to his hairline.

"Thank you for the drink though."  She said to him politely.

"Have a nice night, Miss."  He said sliding off the stool and walking off.

Aurora chuckled into her gin glass.

"A good choice."  She heard another man's voice say behind her.  She turned her head to look at the newcomer.  A slight bit of annoyance in her gaze.  "He never could have kept up with you.  A dame like you would have eatten a guy like that alive."

Aurora arched an eyebrow high at the tall man in the suit and tie.  His shoes, she noted, were highly polished and reflected the lights like stars on the floor and his hair seemed to have too much product in it by half - shining almost as much as the shoes.  "What would you know of it?"  She asked the man before her.

The man pulled out a cigarette case and opened it, offering her one.

Aurora shook her head no.  "I only smoke in a very specific set of circumstances, Mr....?"

The man smirked as if she'd said something dirty, "Mr. Mason, you can call me Gabriel."  He held out his hand to take hers.

"Aurora Byrne."  She said offering her hand.  Gabriel kissed it.

The crowd clapped as the song ended, Aurora looked towards the band striking up Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.

"Would you like to dance Ms. Byrne?"

"My dance card is full tonight, Mr. Mason..."  She shifted on her seat.  "... but I thank you for the thought."

"Perhaps another night then?  Do you come here often?"  He said with a warm smile, his eyes scanning her up and down in a way that made her feel slightly exposed.
