Mr. Cali's Gobagu Started by: Frank-Cali on Jan 20, '19 18:24

You walk into a small deli that has 10 tables with four chairs around each.  There were also four tables out side during the spring and summer. The menu is simple all sandwiches 25 cents.

Beer 25 cents.

Wine 30 cents.

Cakes and pies 15 cents a slice.

Frank had his cousin's Pete and Livia managing the place.  He sat at the front counter greeting people as they walked in.  There were also two men that stood outside as private security they lean against the wall smoking cigarettes.

"Welcome my friends come sit and eat.  I hope you like."

Stands before a pretty neat place called Mr. Cali's Gobagu, in the door stood the owner Frank and seems happy over his new little deli.

"Hey Frank give me a beer and keep 'em coming will you, thirsty like hell now, been up to much lately so need some rest and beer"

J-Love was out for a walk when he noticed a new deli had opened up, intrigued he walked over to check it out, as he got to it he was greeted by a gentleman outside who seemed polite enough, he could see two big guys stood against the wall of the place smoking cigarettes, he tipped his hat to them as he made his way past them into the deli, as he entered he walked up to the counter, the place didn't appear big from outside but they had plenty of tables, he picked one he'd sit at and placed his order.

"Hello there, nice little place, can I get a tuna sandwich, oh and a beer please."

It appers LonelyWolf were a bit hungry so he hurried to get a slice of pie or 2 and also some beer.

"Hey I can have two slices of pie please and a big glas of cold beer to"

Report Post Tip

Frank nods as he takes both men orders.

Mr. lonelyWolf orders up.

He hands him two slices of pie and a glass mug of cold beer.

Mr. J-love orders up.

Then Frank hands J-love a tuna sandwich and gives him a glass mug of cold beer.

I'm very happy that you stopped in gentlemen.   Your business here is greatly appreciated and todays orders are on the house.

Stumbling into the Gobagu, Roger wondered what that word meant, he thought to himself that it sounded Asian.

"Hey there I'd like a piece of cake and a glass of wine."

He sits down and waits for his order to arrive.

"Cono you expect  me to eat this airport food? id rather eat octopus three times a fuckin day the swallow this garbage.... Fuck you im getting a sandwich..."

TM rambles off in his coked manor to a rather unfortunate airport employee who is forced to stand there and listen with a smile on their face. TM brushing past the guy making his way to the exit, one of his bodyguards leaving a tip as he makes his way to the exit. TM point at a vehicle he admires before his men seize it for him. . "you guys can relax, ill be back here in a few hours eh"

He chooses to ignore them rolling their eyes, a statement he has made a couple times before. he departs with the address in his hand of a local spot. smile spot where the chow was as good as the drinks. the vehicle pulling up front and to a screeching stop. TM getting out and making his way inside. Taking a few steps to the counter as he peruses the menu.

"Okai...you know how to make a cuban sandwich here? home style chips on the side perhaps...? oh...and forget the vino, got a bottle of scotch maybe? in the back? behind the sodeepop?"

TM waits before a bottle is produced, taking it with him to his table motioning he would be waiting there for his chow. Smirk on his face as he tops the top of the bottle and begins to drink and drink. with each guzzle he is almost certain he might miss his flight later, but alas with each sip he didn't give a fuck.

I had some free times on my hands this evening after working hard with a few of the family members. I'd meant to come out here sooner but with work and business the time was just never there. Now that I was free and the night was young I hopped onto a private flight making my way for Detroit.

All I had running through my head was how Diva was over the top in love with the food Frank-Cali had been making lately. I was here to test her late night binge drinking and food eating to the test. I pulled up escorted by a few of my bodyguards and the one and only Mrs. Norris in my arms. I was let out from the back door of the vehicle and I could tell from the look in Franks eye he wasn't expecting the boss man to show up unannounced.

Walking inside I noticed a familiar face and am almost shocked myself to see who was already up ordering. I walked up beside TM and bumped into him knowing I'd get a rise out of him. With closed fist he was ready to box before he realized it was his boss in front of him. We shook hands them embraced in a big hug. I looked at Frank across the counter and pointed towards TM.

"I'll have whatever this guy is having and a few more beers this way Frank. You know Diva has been head over heels with your cooking so I had to come enjoy a sandwich myself.", I said with a smile.

Time and time again his Boss had him with that some gag, in a way it became a form of greeting... Then there was that one time.... TM stands there for a moment remembering a time where he popped some guy in the nose thinking it was Argus behind him. He merely shakes it off and chuckles too himself.

"Trust me man, sandwiches aint the only thing they serving here. You... waitress, go bring out what im talking about...."

TM produces a second bottle of scotch sliding it over to Argus, within moments a tray is produced with a hefty pile of cocaine sitting on it propped up like a mighty Everest. TM rubs his nose feeling the need to just ski but out of respects for his boss he nods offering the first round to Argus. In the menatime resuming his quest to polish off his bottle of scotch. His eyes just on the coke, inherited weakness but he didn't care. It is what it is in the mind of young TM.

"By all means man... Just make sure there is enough for me you know? Where the fuck is frank anyways....? By the time he shows up there aint gonna be any left...."

I licked my lips as the thoughts ran fast through my mind. Even though I always had a tendency to sneak up on TM it seemed he was always one step ahead of me. It was that or he actually traveled around everywhere he went with all of the damn coke. It was a beautifully structured mountain and I looked forward to all of the fun it would bring.

I looked across the table at TM and smiled, the gesture was definitely appreciated. I popped the top of the scotch bottle and poured myself a glass after the waiter brought over the empty glass with a few ice cubes in it. I lifted the glass in the air to celebrate our opportunity to hang out on short notice and took in a big drink.

Wiping my lips the real fun was about to start. I grabbed a soup spoon and filled it with the pure Colombian cocaine. One scoop two scoop, they went down with ease. I may be an able man but I had a tolerance like nobodies business, something I'd picked up while working with TM.

"Amazing, simply amazing! Thank you for that my friend, what're you doing here in Detroit?", I asked.

Report Post Tip

Frank takes a seat with his pals TM and ArgusFilch as they drink the scotch, and wine as they eat the gobagu sandwiches.

You guys found my hide away.  Promise not to tell Diva about this joint or I will never hear the end of the sandwiches request and the why wont you make me a sandwich Franky and she likes to bite chucks out of people.  I don't know where you found that woman and why she is so dam evil killing is a past time for that chic.

Frank takes a bite of his sandwich and nods with approval.

Yeah I can see why now.  Now what really brought you here?  Detroit is not a vacation spot and I'm here because of this business and my Uncle Joe.

Report Post Tip

"It wasnt too hard to find meng, after all...Its got your name on it... But glad your in house, been wondering where you been. Not a bad spot if I do say so myself... Better then waiting at the airport terminal thats for sure."

TM pulls the tray over to him before he dips his face in coke Everest taking a huge snort before he pulls back into his chair. Eyes widening as he fights off the waves before he wipes the coke from his nose looking over at Argus. Mind going back to his previous question, to which he can only look at the man with confusion.

"I dont know... something with coke im sure otherwise I wouldn't have that...Having a good time...now thats what my plan is now...since you two showed up...."

TM grabs a sandwich from the table and takes a large bite pulling the piece away like a raptor or something...Obviously he was high as fuck and loving each moment. He nods in approval copying Franks thumbs up as he devours the item before him before dipping back to the coke for desert.

Report Post Tip

Frank watched TM snort coke and turned towards his men he snaps his fingers and they know what to do.  They escorted the customers out and gives each a twenty dollar bill which is a month of groceries and they are told to come back tomorrow and there sandwiches would be free.  The Guards closed the shop window blinds and door.  Frank looked at TM.

I got a respectable front here; booze the city offices look the other way.  Drugs; that's something my political connections shy away from.  You stay hopped up on that stuff and you could go from a heart attack.  Between you and Charlie you and the coke him and Myer's with the heroin.  Life is short and fast money is short money.  You know why?  Because it ends in death or long prison stays.

Frank sips his wine then takes another bite of his sandwich.

Now you was saying going back to the airport.  You got business elsewhere?  You moving that coke or grabbing another load?

Report Post Tip

TM listens to Franks words, while they had there merit when it came to cocaine there was no man alive more equipped to deal with its kick or the consequences of  its prolonged use. He mere smirks when put in the same caliber as the two mafioso before he merely shrugs. At one point admiring the mans care for the establishment but at the same time he knew nobody would go talking to the cops.

"What you worried there not going to come back or something? What ive learned is people tend to mind their own business, little snort here and there nobody gives a shit am I wrong....as for heart attack, no fucking way my friend... Anyone else maybe but not me... "

TM leans back in his seat having a sip of his drink before he offers cigars to the table. Lighting his as he looks over at Frank. Again wondering why the mafiosos is so interested in his business doings. But still they were family, and TM had nothing to hide. Taking a few puffs of his cigar before he responds.

"Distribution, And I got business all over the country. Merely got to choose where, Happy just relaxing in Detroit for a while tho. "

Report Post Tip

Frank shook his head.

Its not about them talking its about repeat business.  I need my customers to feel comfortable and now they know that Frank got them out and they can count on me to be their protector.  They got money to feed themselves and their family so they can look to me for help and that's what keeps their mouths shut.  Tomorrow they come back those that don't I'll send some one to check on them and ensure they keep their mouths shut.   Everything I do has a purpose.

Frank finishes his sandwich and takes another sip of his wine.

Report Post Tip

TM merely nods and dips his face into more coke taking another hit before he stands up wiping the remnants from his nose as he looks over at Argus,he merely chuckles before he nods again.

"They will be back, only place round here to get a decent sandwich... Take a line, fuckin mellow  you out... This whole proper shtick must be giving you agitation. But protector? think your overthinking the sandwich slinging thing... They come they eat they pay..Other customers on the other hand... well thats a different story isn't it?

TM grabs his cigar from the ash tray taking a few puffs as he makes his way to the counter to grab another bottle before returning to the table. Taking a seat he shakes his head popping the top pouring its contents into an empty glass before sliding it to Frank, looking back at Argus for a moment.

"Something stronger then wine Frank, gotta let go atleast one night of your life no? Ey... Argus you gonna weigh in here skipper? Cono!"

Tutte needed some bakery since he was about and invite two other friends to a visit with something to eat and drink and having a good time together.

" Can I have 3 pieces of that pie and some small cookies also please"

Tutte now seeks after a cafe opened so here early so he can get some newly made coffee.

Report Post Tip

Frank was busy with his books as the place had reopened and customers were floating in again.  Frank keep his guy's on their toes he wanted nothing else to go wrong and he instructed his men to ensure that all alcohol be removed as he wanted this joint to run legal like.  He saw that Tuttle came and grab his cake and cookies and left.   Looking at his men he told them that he wish all his customers were like Tuttle come and go no fuss no must.

Frank poured a cup of coffee and went about his normal day.  He started with the sports section, made his bets and then collected what he won the day before then made the family collections.  Then he met up and put the family's cash in the safe and went home and put his money in his own safe.  He ate a good steak dinner and listened to the radio for a few hours and called it a night.

Frank walked back into the dinning area and sat a the counter he ordered a Italian sandwich with the works and a fountain drink.  He looked around and smiled as he had a piece of home and peace of mind.   He was free to be a shop owner and not worry about the streets or business deals gone off track or some addict thinking he owed them something.   He was just Frank Cali regular working stiff for a few hours out the month.

His phone rung but he didn't care he sat there and eat and enjoyed the hum of fans blowing and the line cook frying up fries and hamburger patties.  The sound of the tiny bell ringing when a customer enters and the cashier taking another order.  The ding of the cash register when a sale goes through.  He was a normal guy and as he eat he knew that soon he would have to be Frank Cali of the Chicago outfit.  Tax collector, rum runner bootlegger and executioner if need be.

The Lucchese portfolio was growing by leaps and bounds he just purchased Mr. Cali's Gobagu.  He liked the food and the menu so much that he decided not to change a thing.  Stefano kept the name of the joint so that the locals would return as loyal customers.  Plus it made financial sense to save the dollars where he could and the rebranding of a joint cost a pretty penny.   He kept the staff and everything that went with it.  He would sit out front and play checkers or all types of card games.  Some days it was just to enjoy a glass of wine and the sun others it was to talk business.  Stefano would hold court there and deal out fair justice in the neighborhood.

The older women would have young kids helping them carry there grocries home, the older boys showed pride and respect and from time to time he even dealt with the widows when the landlords would unfairly raise their rent.  Stefano was respected as a man of honor because in Sicily he was part of the honored society.  He owned a lot of properties and this was just one in his stable.  He made plans and he was bringing them to past by hook or crook.
