Gendry for the throne! Make the ruler of Westeros as shit as the final season has been!

Obviously since you've wandered into a Game of Thrones Season 8 thread, you should expect some SPOILERS. 

Probably one of the worst episodes of Game of Thrones in a while. For so many reasons. Thought I'd break down the things I did and didn't like in a nice list rather than a bunch of paragraphs. I feel like this will help me work through my feelings about this episode and the show as a whole. Plus, Hustle points! 

Cons: 

• Completely contradicting Jaime's view on innocent casualties was horrible and not in line with the history of the show. He LITERALLY KILLED A MAD KING TO SAVE INNOCENTS. Sacrificing his "honor" in the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOpQqVCt-Jc
• While I'm on Jaime... still not over the whole I'm going back to King's Landing after having this epic character redemption arc but whatever.
• Providing zero character development from savior figure to crazy mass murdering villain for Daenerys. Foreshadowing isn't enough. You also need actual believable character development. For those of you that argue that she's done crazy stuff like this, I would argue she never torched a city full of innocents before. Everything she's done up until this point could be justified in some way, at least a little. The actions in the last episode had zero justification. She is now a villain and I would not have a problem with this if they'd told her fall well. Which they could have if they hadn't rushed to the end. 
• Apparently Euron replaced his crew with Storm Troopers (that now have tongues).  
• Speaking of Euron, very convenient that he happened to survive dragon fire AND washed up to the secret KL entrance at the same time as Jaime. 
• Sidelining Varys for a couple seasons and then rushing towards his death. 
• Having zero point to Cersei's pregnancy other than trying to create sympathy for her character. Also, lots of people thought after Tyrion mentioned "the baby" in his plea to Cersei would be addressed by Euron in this episode but nah, that would make too much sense. 
• What a waste of the Golden Company. 

Okay, that's enough negatives. There were so many and I could only pick a few of them. Believe it or not, there were some things that I enjoyed about the episode...

Pros:

• Clegane Bowl. 
• Varys didn't go out screaming or begging for his life like Littlefinger. 
• Arya's struggle to survive the attack on the city. Really helped convey the devastation that Daenerys caused. All those innocents. :(

• Did I mention Clegane Bowl?

The biggest lesson I've learned from this episode is to never trust these show runners to create quality material of their own as they've clearly demonstrated that they can't create their own good believable stories. I would never watch another of their shows if the show is in any way based on a book series. They'll give up by the end and see how fast they can end the show. 

Took the easy way out on the last episode in my opinion

I want Tyrion on the throne to be honest. I love that little Dwarf! But I think Bran will take it.

I think Tyrion is the obvious choice so id be surprised if they take that route but nothing would surprise me the way this season is going 

I think Danny will die in the hand of Jon.  Arya might contribute but I dont think it will be Arya who kill her.

Dany tries to kill Jon, Drogon isn't impressed and bites her head off.

Jon gets a dragon and rules the north.

Sansa becomes queen of seven kingdoms with Tyrion as her hand.

Ayra becomes a born again nice girl and renounces her assassin ways.

So close. Lol

It was the bittersweet ending I expected. I think the ending would have been better if they didn't rush the last season. I guess I now have a reason to actually read the last two books.

Ending was predictable he was favourite at most betting shops, did he deserve the throne? imo i do not believe he did enough as a character to deserve it, he had far more potential and it was just not shown. Could season 8 of been better yes i believe i was rushed and such key things were left unanswered or confusing
