When Dawn opened the Palace Theater Madeline turn her on to a good friend of hers that worked at a candy distribution warehouse named Odessa and she started ordering the candy she needed from them.  Odessa phoned Madeline that she really appreciated Dawn sending her business her way but the owner Herman didn’t appreciate the extra business she bought in and still treated her like shit.   Well Dawn wasn’t having that and told Odessa in a few weeks she would be running a candy store herself and purchasing the candy from her Boss’s competitor.

Dawn knew the exact place to set up the candy store.  She notice a vacant storefront next to  Holli_Would and Shirou ‘s Licks & Sips  at the corner of 6th Ave and Nine Mile Road.  Holli_Would knew the owner and  was able to help Dawn secure a fair price.  Not only did it have a real nice size storefront but also a second floor with a two bedroom apartment which Odessa was welcome to stay.  After a few weeks of renovations the candy store was open for business.

You could smell the sweetness as Dawn opened the door to The Candy Galore Store.  Odessa was busy arranging and rearranging the candy shelves.   Odessa was so grateful for the offer for her to take the apartment upstairs.

The store looked fabulous.  There was a large display of individually pieces to be sold and scales place around the store to weight the candies from large candy jars to be purchased by the pound.   

There were two checkout counters where the candies were placed in decorated gift bags and tied with beautiful pieces of ribbon.

Dawn was happy that she was in the position to help others out and help rebuild during some  depressing times.  To continue the sweetness next to Licks & Sips Ice Cream Parlor was an excellent opportunity.  It was nice to be next door to Holli_Would and Shirou.

Ennio could not wait for his turn to order. Choices choices.

He craved caramel and after listening a few times for the differences, it came down between Sugar Babies and Payday. He opted for Sugar Babies as it was slow cooked. Is there anything slow cooked that is bad? No one ever advertises fast cooked, do they? Unless it's delivery.

The day after the candy store opened, Shirou made his way over from his ice cream shop next door. The sweet scent of sugary treats welcomed him as soon as he stepped through the doors. The whole neighborhood was sure to smell like heaven now that the two stores were side by side. 

Shirou took his time browsing through the store, enjoying the visual treat it provided. "Oh three musketeers," he exclaimed and grabbed the candy bar. After paying for it, he tore it open and devoured it in a few bites. But he was not here just for pleasure, he had a business agenda in mind as well. 

"Hi Odessa, I'm Shirou from next door. Me and my partner Holli_Would run Licks and Sips together. I was wondering if you could recommend a few candy bars that could be paired with ice creams," he smiled at her and continued. " Dawn is a good friend of ours and seeing as how we are neighbors, why not help each other with our businesses am i right?"

"I will be with you shortly. Please take a look around in the meantime" she replied.

"That's fine, I'm waiting for Holli to show up. She knows more about candies than I do." Shirou strolled between the aisles, looking at the shelves stacked with a variety of sweets. A long rainbow colored lollipop caught his eye and he took it off the shelf just as Holli walked in.

"Hey hun welcome. This is a neat place isn't it. And look what I got here," he showed her the lollipop that was about a palm's length. "Doesn't this look wonderful. Shall I buy it for you?"

Dawn came out of the back office grabbed a piece of bubble gum out of the candy display and placed her penny on the counter, unwrapped the piece of gum and threw it in her mouth. 

She saw Shirou and Holli_Would standing by the lollipops and went over to speak to them.  It was kind of hard to get the words out to greet them with the sweet juices of the bubble gun rolling around in her mouth and they all just laughed.  They waited for the gum in Dawn mouth to settle and was able to talk correctly.  Dawn told them welcome to the candy store and gave both a little hug.  Again she thanked Holli_Would for her help her securing the storefront next to the ice-cream shop and told them that this would be the sweetest corner in Detroit.  Dawn couldn’t resist blowing a large bubble.  They talked a little while longer and as Shirou and Holli were leaving she saw Shirou put a nickel on the candy counter and placed five pieces of the delicious bubble gum in his pocket.

Holli had been eagerly waiting for Candy Galore to open up ever since her friend Dawn had bought the property next door to Licks & Sips and turned it into a sweet shop. Not just any sweet shop but the finest one in the country! 

Holli and her partner Shirou had arranged to meet there to discuss ideas for future desserts and treats for their ice cream shop and she was a few minutes late. She hurried through the front door, scanned around, found him looking at a display of hard candies and walked over. She hugged him warmly then turned to take in the colourful display.

She was just thinking that she wasn't seeing anything that they could use for future recipes when Shirou whispered, "Look what I got here," and showed her the rainbow lollipop. "Doesn't this look wonderful. Shall I buy it for you?" As he held it up to show her, she saw Dawn head their way. "Oh!" she squealed, her face turning three shades of pink and quickly she yanked the hard stick out of his hand and put it back on the shelf, praying that Dawn hadn't seen or heard anything. Under her breath she whispered back, "We will buy it on our way out."

The three friends chuckled and laughed then discussed business. Holli had seen some Reese's peanut butter cups and already recipes were flying around in her head. They made the arrangements for delivery then as they were leaving, Shirou bought some bubble gum... and she sent him back to buy that candy stick.

Tristan walked into the store with his two nephews Devante Jr and Elijah when they saw the candy they ran to the counter looking at everything.  They pointed to all types of colorful candy.  Tristan asked for a two bags of candy canes mixed colors for the little gentlemen and one pound of boston bake beans and sugar babies for himself to include ten sticks of Chick-o-sticks. 

Tristan looked at the woman behind the Counter her name tag said Dawn.  Tristan smiled at her and paid her she was a very attractive woman but he couldn't place where he met her before.  So he didn't say much as he was busy with the two three year olds that were excited.  

Odessa asked Dawn if she wouldn’t mind keeping an eye on the store while she and Karen ran an important errand.  Dawn told her she didn’t mind at all, it would give her a chance to wear the fine name tag he had made for her. 

She was behind the counter when a man approached to pay for his candy.  As she was weighing his candy she looked at him and he looked very familiar.  She knew it would take a minute but she would remember where she had seen him before.  It came to her.  She thought he might be Tristan a friend of her Uncle Bentley’s that owned the Devante Collection at Renza’s in New York.  She never spoke to him put had seen him a couple of times at the showcases.

Excuse me by any chance are you Tristan she asked.  He answered indeed he was.

Hi, my name is Dawn. I’m Bentley Weatherford's  niece.  I knew I recognized you.  We haven’t spoken but I have seen you several times in New York at your Devante Collection showcase.  Dawn extended her hand to shakes his and told him it was very nice to actually meet him.

Tristan then realized that he had indeed meet her a few times in passing.  She was Michael's date at a resturant and at Renza's in New York.  She introduced herself to him and he smiled and shook her hand.   He was happy that Dawn recognized him.  He asked her how she was doing and what brings her to Detroit of all places.  

She was delightful to talk with and her eyes said a lot about her when she was happy.  He asked about Bentley and how he was doing.  Devante told Tristan alot about him and how he was always trying to get Devante and Rain together.  Tristan introduced his two nephews to Dawn and they both smiled and said him.  Elijah pulled Tristan's pants leg and Tristan bent down as Elijah whispered loudly she's pretty.  Tristan shook his head as the kid didn't quite understand the art of whispering.  

Dawn when did they open this place up?  When did you start working here?

Dawn smiled at the little boys and asked them their names.  The little one that said she was pretty shouted out Elijah and the other quietly said Devante.  She placed a handful of jelly beans in both of their hands. They both looked at Tristan to see if it was alright for them to accept them and he nodded in approval.   She told Tristan that she actually owned the candy store and was just helping out, that several opportunities had open up and that’s why she decided to reside in Detroit.  She told him Bentley was doing fine and they planned to meet in Las Vegas in a couple of days.

Tristan thanked Dawn for the jelly beans and then ask the boys what is it your suppose to say.  Devante smiled and said thank you, Elijah yelled thank you, they are good as he stuffed them in his mouth.   Tristan shook his head looking at Devante who eat slowly while looking at Dawn.  Tristan listen as her talk about the opening of the candy store, and coming to Detroit and then about her visiting her uncle in Vegas.  

Tristan told her not to spend to much money at the casino's and that he heard her uncle was an excellent cook and a beast on the grill.  He told her that one day he would like to get back to Vegas and check out some of the comedy clubs and enjoy some of the sites and check while checking on some of his investments.  In mid sentance he asked Devante what was going own he was looking Dawn and he shook his head nothing as he was smiling at her.  Elijah was smiling way too much as Tristan got a chuckle out of them being so honest about what they liked and they both like Dawn.  

Would Cepheus' dare enter a candy shop? Could his waistline handle anymore of these snacks that Detroit continues to seemingly pile up on as if they're being given tax breaks for selling sweets? His Pancakery could use some extra little bits and bobs of candy however and so this was more of a business trip than one of pleasure. That was, until he entered the establishment and took in all of the treats that his eyes were now beholden to.

"A lot of candy here, eh? Any discounts for large shipments?"

Putting on his finest businessman smile, he waited for a response from the owner. Then out from the corner of his eye, he saw chocolates that he just had to buy right now regardless of an answer.

"How much for one of these... Snickers? I'll take two.", he fumbled around with a small wad of dollars and pulled a few out to hand over to Dawn who he was still waiting to hear from. Once she had taken the money in her hands, he snatched up a Snickers and ate it so quickly you'd not even be certain if the wrapper was removed or not.

"I'll need a lot of these."

Pointing all over the store, he nodded.

"I'll need a lot of all of these."

Odessa and Karen walked back into the store and Odessa walk behind the counter where Dawn was.  Finished weighing and rung up Tristan candy and place them in a beautiful gift bags and handed him and told him Odessa would finish his transaction.  She told him it was nice meeting him and also the boys and she hoped to see them again soon.  

There was another customer that had come in.  Dawn walked over to the gentlemen and told him the Snickers were five cents each.  She introduces herself to him and he told her his name was Cepheus.  Dawn told him she had just opened the store that no one had ever asked about a large shipment but they did sell the candy by the pound.

After hearing Dawn explain about this whole selling by the pound business another idea cropped up into his mind as he held one of the snicker bars in his hand. Wondering exactly how much he could buy in a single purchase, he walked over to what looked to be a crate filled with the candies and slapped it.

"How much for twenty pounds of the stuff?"

This would be his first venture into the candy side of things and he wasn't sure of prices, but it needed to be done for the future of his Pancake house which was becoming more and more popular by the day.

Tristan was back at the Candy Galore store this time he wasn't buying Candy and he didnt have his nephews with him, He asked to speak with the owner Dawn but Karen told him that she was out of town.  Tristan recalled that she told him she was going out of town to visit her uncle.  Tristan smiled and ask Karen to relay a message for him.   "Dear Dawn, Tristan was looking to meet with you to talk about business opportunities he hopes that she would look him up. Areas code 51 A 555."   Tristan thanked Karen and then turned around and left the store.    

It was the first time Big Moe was actually in a real candy store.  Dawn just laughed as he walked around checking out all the candies saying wow he hadn't had one of these or one of those since he was a kid. He went through the candy jars pulling out a few pieces here and there and put them on the counter for Odessa to ring up for him.  She would give him a total and he just kept adding more pieces.  By the time he was finally finished he must have had a few pieces of each candy.  Odessa would roll her eyes each time he would add a few pieces and kept asking him are you finished yet.  She had to add to the total the pieces he was devouring while choosing what he wanted.  By the time he was finished he had to large bags of assorted candies. 

Odessa told Dawn the community loved the candy store and it always had a few customers coming and going.  Dawn told her she was glad that the business was going well and she was doing a wonderful job keeping everything afloat. 

Sana didn't realize her good friend Dawn_ had a candy store down in Detroit, if only she had known, she definitely would have dropped by sooner to show her support. She found it apt that Dawn put up a candy store since she was one of her sweetest friends, although she knew not everyone saw that side of Dawn. As she stepped inside, the smell of chocolate and all things sweet overwhelmed her and Sana started asking around if Dawn was in today so she can stop by for a little chat. They hadn't seen each other in ages -- mainly because Sana went on vacation for a while to clear her head -- so she wanted to get up to speed with what was happening in her friend's life.

While she was waiting, she decided to buy some candy to keep her preoccupied. "Ooh, a Big Hunk sounds nice... wait, that sounded wrong, uh... I'll just have a piece of Big Hunk to go please... wait that still sounds wrong..." Sana shifted awkwardly as the lady at the counter giggled and fetched her order. When she returned, Sana was basically jumping with glee as she took a bite out the candy bar and let out a small sound of contentment. She made a mental note to let Dawn know how much she enjoyed the candy before roaming about the store and seeing what else they have to offer.

Sometimes, a guy just needed a sugar rush. That was true regardless of how old they were or how mature they tried to be. There was just something about sugar that gave a rush neither coffee nor drugs could match. And Kafka needed it, especially after how bad the last couple of days had been.

As he walked into the store, Kafka took just a few seconds to secretly relish the environment he was in. Mafia bosses weren't exactly known for walking into candy stores, which meant he couldn't really do this as often as he wanted to. But this business was owned by a family societe of his, which meant he could just pretend he was there for more nefarious purposes. That suited him just fine.

"Give me a couple of Snickers bars. Oh, and thrown in enough of those Haribo Gold Bears to last me a week, yeah?" he told the person at the counter.

Hamilton walked into The Candy Store with a group of kids.  The kids stood in line and ordered candy as he stood at the counter paying for all the candy as they thanked the clerk and Hamilton.  Once the last kid had their bag they all walked out and Hamiltion thanked the two clerks for their time and efforts.  

Dawn talked into the sweet, sweet smell of the candy store.   The first person she sees is Alexander-Hamilton surrounded by a few kids.  They all were holding like 3 or 4 bags of candy. She walked over to him gave him a hug and asked what was the special occasion.  It seemed like it was one of his nephew’s birthday and Alexander decided to take them on a trip to the candy store.  They both laughed when Dawn told him he was going to make their mothers rather upset with all that candy they are going to come home with.  He gathers all the kids up and Dawn watched him pile them all up in the car. 

Odessa told Dawn she had to talk to her in the business office and right away she knew something was wrong.  It seemed like the wholesaler raised the price on the candy so high that it would be hard for her not to have to raise the price of the candy in store.  Right now the prices were reasonable and affordable for the community. 

Things like this made Dawn so mad.  You do good business with a company and just because you doing good business they want to take advantage of if and raise their prices. 

Dawn told Odessa not to worry about.  They could afford to take a lost until they find a new supplier. In fact Dawn went to a file and pulled it out of another supplier who was very interested in doing business with Dawn.  So keep the prices and salaries just the way they are and not to worry Dawn told her.
