GF Council addresses LV 'loopholes' Started by: JesseJames on Dec 17, '11 14:52

Good evening everyone, I came to the streets to address an issue/loophole in one of the Godfather Council LV rules.  Together with the help of the rest of the city heads we have determined a better way of dealing with Las Vegas, in order to keep it competitive for many of you who still have ambitions of running your own family in Las Vegas.

It’s pretty obvious that many have figured out what KeithGandor (RIP) did in Las Vegas, he went to assist Donnie Brasco (RIP) and take RHM.  He went to Vegas VWP, and then proceeded to buy an additional BG or 2?  Well, apparently Donnie and Keith didn’t go to Vegas to become politicians, they did so wanting to control the city for themselves using means not associated with politics!  Whatever floats your boat!  Contrary to popular belief among one little group, I did not fund KeithGandor, but let’s face it, I don’t need to explain myself.  After Donnie died, Keith decided to set up as an EWP, which in many eyes broke the GF Council rules.  This is where the obvious loophole lies.

The Godfather Council has determined the LV rules need to be refined to combat this loophole.  We concluded that the best way to do so is as follows:

  • Only accounts that are 5 days old or less may be BG’d up.  This does not mean let me demote him like I normally would he is less than 5 days old that way.  This means from the beginning of that particular account he cannot be older than 5 days and be BG’d up.
  • A person cannot be demoted with the sole purpose of BGing up before departing to Las Vegas.  The only reason one can be demoted is to join a CL in Las Vegas, at which point they can only be demoted to a rank below that of the CL.
  • If a person is VWP, and becomes EWP or higher while in Las Vegas they cannot set up for 7 days following the BG change.

The actions above were meant to make Las Vegas a more competitive/fair environment for all who choose to partake.  The Godfather Council determined these measures would make it even more possible.

Thank you all for your time!

Report Post Tip

it will be quite difficult to follow up on these rules? but i hope they work

Report Post Tip

It won't be difficult, if we whip anyone that disobeys these rules.

I'm in charge of the punishment facility of Chicago, it will be taken care of professionally.

Report Post Tip

glad to hear las vegas is a cracking project and enjoyable to see grow

Report Post Tip

So, I may just be stupid here and missed something but...

Considering I am now more than 5 days old and having started my career in Las Vegas, does this now mean I can not buy Bodyguards at all? Same goes for everyone else in Las Vegas who is more than 5 days old. Including leaders and hands?

Report Post Tip

Jono,

Doing my math (Maybe I am wrong) But you are yet to be 5 days old. Are you going senile?

Report Post Tip

Yes, Creep. I'm going senile at 4 days old! God our growth is outta control!

Thanks for pointing that out, ha.

Anyway, the question is still a valid one. Regardless of whether my math is above an infant's grade or not.

Report Post Tip

Jono, I would imagine by BG'd up they are referring to being demoted with the view to hiring cheap labour. I would certainly hope no-one has any problem with people much older than 5 days using their hard earned cash to hire expensive protection?

Report Post Tip

Is it just me or are points one and two contradictory to each other, it may be my undertstanding of it or the equivocal wording

Point one says they cannot be demoted to buy BGs. Point two says they can be demoted below that of a Crew Leader once in Vegas (inclusive of thug/gangster) at which point their free to buy protection

Surely once their in Las Vegas then their free to do whatever they wish to protect themselves, use cunning and guile to make head way. Which should include demotions to buy BGs.... what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas en all

Im sure i've misunderstood all this and it all makes sense to everybody else

Report Post Tip

The way I understood the announcement, nobody can be demoted to buy cheap labor, regardless of how long they have been in LV.

But Buttercrust, the allowed demotion thing is that if you are a Capo that wants to join a Made Man in LV, then you will have to be demoted to Made Man, not all the way down to thug and while you're at it get IWP. At least the way I read it.

Report Post Tip

That's exactly why I ask the question Animal, so it is clear for all.

Report Post Tip

that makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification Ashes

Report Post Tip

My pleasure, pal.

Report Post Tip

Jono and Animal,

To address your questions, you can use your hard earned cash at any rank to buy bodyguards. We do not want to stifle you guys being able to do so. However, if you hit the EWP mark at any point while in Vegas, you may not set up as a crewleader for a period of 7 days after you have hit the EWP mark.

This includes if your boss was killed and you're the last man standing. If you have only been EWP for 3 days, you cannot set up for 4 additional days.

I hope this clears up this issue.

Buttercrust and Ashes,

Ashes is absolutely correct. The only demotion one can take to go to Vegas is if he is joining a boss who is of a lower rank than he is. Then he or she may only be demoted to the rank of their new boss and no further. Nor is that new boss allowed to demote them any further.

Report Post Tip

I don't see how this is addressing loopholes, in my opinion this takes away a lot of the good strategy that should be allow to go on in LV.

The people that are complaining that bgs are running around in vegas are the ones that didn't plan far enough ahead of time and prepare to get the bgs and then have enough money to beef up the protection.

Why shouldn't a crew leader be able to demote his members and bodyguard them up?

This will keep the vegas crews weak and susceptible to attacks and are not being given the benefit of their hard work they put in to go out there.

It seems to me like these rule are to keep the city of Vegas weak as possible so that if they get out of line its easy to clean up the mess.

I don't like this but thats just my opinion.

These rules would stop me from even considering a move out to Vegas as you've taken away from us the edge that the hard working and strategic planning that was involved. People demote members and beef up their BG status because they trust them and want to keep them safe just as much as they do for other reasons and this won't let new leaders in Vegas make suret that their most trusted members stay safer.

If every other city in this place is allowed to demote to protect their individuals this puts Vegas much further behind than any other city and I don't feel like its giving them a fair chance.

With these new rules I'd never take the trip to Vegas as several people if not all people there have already grandfathered themselves in there having broken most if not all the rules stated here giving them a huge advantage.

I agree with Murdoc, this seems like a thinly veiled attempt to keep LV at a constant disadvantage

Surely dicating what a crew leader can and cannot do once their set up and established within Las Vegas is in direct vioation of Rule 8

"8) You can use force, guile or diplomacy to succeed in gaining a foothold in Las Vegas and provided it is contained to Las Vegas, there will be no outside interference."

Report Post Tip

Remeber Murdoc, this is a priveledge not a right to go to LV upon your CL's allowance to move and set up there. These rules were all agreed upon by the GF council with ages of experience. Yes, these rules have bent a few times, but this all works through trial and error and this post is to clarify to the world the stipulations set forth for LV. If you look at the great Stallion he started with low BG's and worked his way up to IWP (not calling you out Stallion just recognizing hard work my friend). Nothing states you cant keep working towards more BG's just demoting is not aloud after 5 days.

By the way, LV is doing a great job in policing thier own and making sure they run a tight ship, great jobs guys.

Report Post Tip

Hmm I would have to agree with Murdoc. This also puts the new crews at a disadvantage to people like Creep who already has plenty of bodyguards. Vegas seems to be doing quite well as it is I think that these new rules are sucking any excitement there was out of vegas.

Now i can not speak for everyone in vegas but I personally am in vegas and would not give a damn if someone made a crew who was IWP. Even just that added element of fear from being attacked by hum would be fun.

People were complaining about the Godfather Council not addressing issues so the Godfather council addressed some issues but in my opinion they were the wrong ones. Instead of talking about rules with rouging you addressed how many BGs the rouge had. Am i the only one who sees the flaws in this?

Report Post Tip

It's been clarified a million times over by both other cities, and those of us who are lucky enough to call Vegas our home, Fiento, in our minds Keith was not a rogue. That issue aside, thank you Jesse, Hound, Lotta, Stallion, Stamina, for clarifying these rules up a bit. I'm a huge fan of this new set of rules as it were, and I'm very very glad you guys could make the time to address this. Just last night I was mentioning to Eve Valon that I wished you all would speak, now that's quick service!

"I agree with Murdoc, this seems like a thinly veiled attempt to keep LV at a constant disadvantage"

Sorry sir but I must disagree with both of you here... It might give those of you wishing to come over a slight disadvantage, but to those of us who are already here, I think it finally tilts the "fairness" factor in our direction. Granted, it's the fucking Mafia and fairness is the last thing on almost everyone's mind, but still, this new rule might actually allow us to build a respectable city over the coming months.

Report Post Tip

How is it fair that all other cities bar LV can utilize the notion of demotion for BGs in order to protect their city, i'm struggling to see the logic in where this is fair

Whether your already in Vegas or those planning to come over and irrelevant of if its an accpetable practice or not, this cuts off a valauble route that all other cities are able to use in order to protect ones family and city. Its a big disadvantage, whichever way you look at it and merely keeps LV at arms length.

I'm not in Vegas and you are so I have no real vested interest. As long as the Vegas familys are happy with this then thats all that matters I guess
