I'm new to this game so I'm not quite sure I understand it all the way.  From what I read in this thread you can be demoted to buy cheaper bodyguards.  And from what it sounds like, the Godfathers of this game don't want Las Vegas to have bodyguards, or at least get bodyguards the easy way.  It's an experiment that they don't want to have later bit them in the ass I suppose.

I think there should be fundamental rules to setting up in Vegas, such as nobody with more than VWP can go set up.  As for loopholes, they will always exist.  The rules that were just set involve so much subjectivity it is really hard to follow them concretely.  

WhackZilla, if I may, if you're gonna claim you didn't need to elaborate because he was dead, then you didn't need to reply at all. I think that what Space-Pole is encouraging is for you to give a proper response for the rest to enjoy even if the person who made the comment is dead.

In my honest opinion these new rules are very very poor, by changing the existing rules Vegas is just going to stagnate with a bunch of people who at best are VWP or JUST scraping EWP. You are stopping, or at very best severely slowing the progress of a city. Why shouldn't a CL be able to demote a RHM or any other valued family member to give them extra protection at a reduced rate??

The Rules should have been left as they were as Vegas was coming along nicely as was. It's like we're being punished for overcoming KeithGandor and his loophole. A loophole which could, nay WOULD speed up the solidifying of a city.

If you wished to change/edit the rules you could have launched this idea with one of the other open cities surely?? Then you wouldn't be screwing over anyone Earner or above who are already here in LV.

I think it was said before that all this applies only until LV gets a GF. Until then, everybody in LV is there because somebody allowed by the GFC is there. Every single member of LV should be thankful of the opportunity not try to bite the hand that fed them this opportunity.

I have said, as have many others that simply putting the word "Wrong" to argue your case is not a debate, it is not needed and therefore it will be chewed out. What I think about the topic at the start of this announcement is superseded by the fact that you blatantly and outright tried to put down one of our members (Deceased or not) with a single word. If you had given reasoning and understanding as to why you thought that persons comment was wrong, then that would be fair enough. You didn't though, did you? That is what I am here for.

Just to clarify an issue I've heard raised a few times, that Vegas is being held in limbo until they can produce a Godfather and that other cities aren't being held to the same standard. This isn't quite the case, as far as I can read in the rules.

5) Las Vegas will remain open until a Godfather takes control of the city and closes it.
7) The city may appoint a representative to act on their behalf on the Godfather Council, provided they are recognised as the leader of the city by all other families within the city.

From what I can tell this just means that while the experiment will continue to run until you have a Godfather emerge from your ranks, you aren't being denied the right to have the same say that any other city has on the Godfather Council. You all just have to agree that there's one person in control of the city to get that representation, the same as any other city.

We realize that, Shedao, and we've decided to at this time not elect one of our own to sit on the council. The reason behind this being that we don't want any one person here to have any more say than another, we believe in equality and peace (for the most part, though as the obits will prove, we will defend our own when needed,) and don't wish to see any internal conflicts spring up because one of us has that title.

As for rule 5... Well, I still stand by what I said previously. Definitely not fair seeing as the majority of the GFC themselves aren't GF's. Though rumor has it that will be changing here in a few days, advanced congrats to those it applies to.

One minor question that may or may have not been already answered.

Does this apply to those who have already demoted for BGs before this announcement and plan on setting up?

Or does this only apply for those in the future for demoting for bgs?

A question to the good GF councils.

The Godfather Council has determined the LV rules need to be refined to combat this loophole. We concluded that the best way to do so is as follows:

A person cannot be demoted with the sole purpose of BGing up before departing to Las Vegas. The only reason one can be demoted is to join a CL in Las Vegas, at which point they can only be demoted to a rank below that of the CL.

On the paragraph stated above,, may I ask a clarification on it, does it include people who have been demoted before you state these new rules sir/madam?
