Ladies and gentlemen today I come to you with an announcement. In Godfather DeadlySin's last announcement, you may remember that he told you there were plans in place for the two empty cities. Today, you all find out half of these plans.

The Godfather and I will be opening the city of Detroit to a new experiment with a slightly different twist to previous experiments.

Bunny steps back as one of her bodyguards steps forward with a crate and places it on the ground before lifting her onto it. Unrolling the piece of parchment she begins to read

- All those people interested in setting up in the city, must declare their interest to bunny once they have their Crewleaders blessing. Your names will be assigned a number - if your number comes up when the die rolling is done, congratulations, you're a Crewleader.

- There will be a maximum of 5 Crews in the city at any one time.

- You can apply at any time provided you are less than 60 days old and are at 34 or less units, but your name won't be added into the rolling until you reach Made Man. You must stay at 34 units or lower to enter, if you reach 35 you are not allowed to enter - you can go over 60 days old (from original start date) provided you applied to enter before that age.

- Every two weeks a new Crewleader will be selected to join the city - if there are already 5 crews in the city, the current Detroit leaders vote for who loses their place. The new leader will not be selected until the current leaders have voted one out. If no decision is made by the current leaders within 12 hours, a decision will be made by the gods rolling a die - the unlucky leader will then be told to step down.

- Once you have been voted out you must either rejoin your former family or join a Detroit family. All crew members have 1 week from the Crewleader stepping down to find a new home within Detroit.

- You must be a maximum Bodyguard tier of Very Well Protected on entering, and you may NOT increase your bodyguard tier while in the city (meaning a limit of 50 bodyguards).

- Crewleaders may take one member as their Right Hand, and this person is never to exceed Well Protected (meaning a limit of 25 bodyguards) and must also be less than 60 days old. All other members are limited to Protected status.

- Limited to Fortified with HQ fort status

- There are to be no internal auths for the duration of the experiment.

- You can re-apply if you're voted out provided all conditions are still met (no more than 34 units and less than 60 days old)

- The first rolling will be done on the 1st of September. At this time 5 leaders will be chosen. If there are 5 or less applicants, all of them get to set up - if there are 6 or more then the positions are rolled for.

- What happens in Detroit stays in Detroit, provided it is contained to Detroit there will be no outside interference.

- The contest will end once the city has a Godfather.

Once bunny has finished reading the rules from her parchment, she looks up and smiles.

I have but one question that spring to mind at the moment. With limiting the fortifications of the HQ itself would that not take away any internal protection that the prospective Detroit leaders would need for their members should there be a rogue. As we have seen over the last few weeks. Or was this taken in to account considering how much time a would be rogue has to train their gun before going on their murderous rampage.

I ask because it would essentially leave any potential Detroit members as easy pickings for rogues while other cities can sit comfortably knowing their members are out of reach.

Looking side to side at the eager young faces, SquidMaster begins to look back on his past when he too once would dream of becoming an established leader in this thing of ours... before getting caught in a trance of old memories, SquidMaster steps forward and speaks...

Today we have been graced with an outstanding chance for some of you that wish to grasp glory by the horns and take it for your own. Today Godfather DeadlySin gives hope to those who believe they can't work under any current leadership. Most of all, this is a NON BIASED experimentation. In no way can you really hinder anyone from having a legitimate chance of having control of their own city.

Of course, people will not agree with my statements. (We can't get IWP, we can't get BGs! How are we supposed to be established when we are suffocated with rules!?) This ladies and gentlemen, is horse shit banter. This is an opportunity for a clean slate, in your own little world, to fight people JUST as strong as you will be. You want the chance for glory, take it and run. No outside influence, so why should the outside matter? I know this is going to be a great experiment and I look forward to seeing the new bold suits that will arise here shortly on these shores.

With although respect to bunny and Philly this is worst idea i ever saw.

Jono already mentioned one problem thats fortification, members wont have protection against rogues. Another things that people might get kicked out of city, i dont see why someone who will put in money and time should be taken away his chance just because of stupid dice roll.

How about some nice old school auths rather then jokes?

Donnie, these are the rules of an experimentation, players are very aware of the rules before they go into the city or enter themselves into the competition. If they chose to take their money and put it towards a risk for glory, then that is their choice.

Plainly stated, if you don't like it, don't talk. Because frankly, people don't want to hear your nonsense half the time anyways.

Donnie, I suggest you retract your previous statements rather quickly and re-read the thread.

A dice roll doesn't decide who leaves, the current leaders do. If you can't work well with the other leaders in the city and gain their trust, you aren't in the right place. Only if no decision is made, will it resort to the dice roll, at which point, everyone is vulnerable.

It's all a matter of getting your tactics right.

Also, before everybody jumps on Philly for this 'terrible idea' feel free to throw some of it New York's way. I had just as much input as bunny and DeadlySin did, as well as all the other leaders being spoke to about the idea prior to it's announcement.

Just because one person makes the announcement, doesn't mean they are the only city to have thought about it and talked about it.

I think this is an excellent idea. It's kinda like if you're not fit to be a CL you will get voted out.

Insidious - who ever said they had to shoot at each other? This experiment allows them to remove a leader WITHOUT killing them. You would know that, if you had listened.

Once again, I will state this in plain english. People ARE aware of the guidelines. People ARE aware of what can happen to them, if they don't wish to compete, then don't enter. It's just that simple. We are allowing people to be up to halfway of the alloted time needed for minimum time of Godfather, which means, you have to survive a possible 2 rounds of someone being forcefully kicked. Also, you will need the members and the points necessary. This won't be an easy feat, however, we have given the tools for success at your feet, once again people seem to want to cry about it, instead of embracing the idea.

Insidious, what? There have been other experiements like this one that have worked fantastically well. DeadlySin himself came out of one of them, as did MikeHunt and StanPython.

On the fortifications side of things, having a limit on it stops someone with a massive amount of money buying insane forts and all their members being untouchable to all others in the experiment. Bear in mind that the idea of fairness and equality were in practise when thinking of these rules and regulations. Whereas the are not normal values in mafia life, for something like this to work, they need to be there.

We are just doing this for shits and gigs and for something to laugh at. The community and this world will grow because of it. The cynics will be silenced in time.

I don't think just because you don't win a popularity contest makes you a bad CL.

Donnie I would highly suggest you watch your tongue when you're in public. You represent your opinions, as well as your family. You're not acting like a button man in my opinion. Expressing opinions, and shoving peoples face in the dirt are two separate things.

Danger from the rogues aside, I feel like it's an excellent idea. It gives some people chance to prove themselves as capable bosses.

SammiGarcini, I arrived to these shores just after that experiment. I was able to read about the experiment in old newspapers and this didn't look the same.

I believe I was a bit out of place questioning those with much more experience in these matters. I will give a sincere apology and disappear into the shadows.

Eric pulls up next to SammyGarcini in his golf caddy and smiles at him. He notices the new experiement that's going on in Detroit and smirks. He then glances over at Donnie and listens.

Eric then pipes up to correct Donnie and address the crowds.

"Yes this be true Donnie. However people know what they're setting themselves up for when throwing their name into the hat. No one HAS to apply.. no one has a gun to their head forcing them to do this. If people spend millions getting themselves prepared for this and then they're voted out then that's their own fault for spending that cash. They knew what was possible by accepting the terms and agreements of the rules. Their loss, no one else's. If anything it will be people who DON'T have a lot of money that will do this, as if you're voted out then it can be a waste of your funds."

Eric takes a deep breath..

"I'd just like to remind people that we're respectable mafioso around here and we should know better then to be coming out into the streets ranting our mouths off."

Eric then glances over at Sammy.

"Want a ride back to the HQ boss? We can look at the fields and discuss flowers on the way?"

Whilst Donnie has gone somewhat over a line with his comments, I can't help but share the disbelief with this idea.

That said, its called an experiment for a reason, so why don't people just wait and see how it goes before deciding how good/poor it is.

I think popularity is a pretty key component about it. Who the hell will join a CL who is so unpopular that nobody else wants to work with him?

Of course other tactical reasons may come into play when deciding who to vote out, but like Squidmaster said, people are aware of the rules when they enter.

You don't like it? Just make sure your name doesn't get thrown in the hat.

And Donnie... usually saying "with all due respect" means you are about to disrespect somebody, just saying. And calling a thought out project "a joke" seems like something bad to do to somebody with such a rank. I think your own CL gave you an interesting suggestion. I would take it if I were you. My forefathers had to do it several times, so I know what I'm talking about. I know it sucks having to keep your opinions to yourself, but there is a hierarchy in place and we must respect it.
