What a great debate there are some very good arguments for and against this move, I have to say I love the idea, it not only gives CL's a VALID reason for not giving someone their button but it also truly makes people EARN that button, we all know anyone can run around stealing as much as they can, we also know there are lines at the local jails of people waiting to break others out so they can gain rank faster. Accountability is a good thing, not only that but it is very realistic, it is a well known fact in order to be "Made" in the mafia one must have people vouch for him and when/if he fucks up they both run the risk of death! So yeah make people accountable!! Kudos to this idea... |

| Petzl, you say "It seems that the overwhelming support which has been shown for the Cheesy One's plan, comes, in large part, from those who have already been Made.". However, I would still be in favour of this, even if I was required to retrospectively provide referees. This is nothing to do with being Made already, some people consider the bigger picture and still think it's something worth trying. | |

I don't really need to add anything to this. I am 100% behind this. Mainly because I was involved in the initial discussions and I would look fucking stupid if I disagreed. But no, in all seriousness, what else were we to do? I should also point out that I will not be accepting references from those below the rank of Wise Guy. As low ranks have proved time and time again their opinion is "usually" worth shit. So yep, thats right, if you want me to make you, I will expect 3 references from "upstanding" members of our community. That is all. Cab. |

I have an even better idea. Why don't you just make everyone a made man? Then we can all sit around and hold hands around the campfire and take long walks on the beach. Why the hell is anyone even arguing? Not a damn democracy here. When's the last time you voted about a job? You do what the boss tells you and you shut the hell up about it. What the hell do you think this is, the fucking Carnegie Steel Company? You think you can work hard and maybe your foreman will notice and you can move up to middle managment? No, it's all about who you know and who trusts you to do the job. Don't like it? That's life, buddy. It's a bitch and then you die. |

Now that I've actually got this new initiative on the brain, I had a few questions that I was hoping would be cleared up for myself, or maybe others on the brink of their Made Man promotions. I will admit I was only half listening, as a lot of people had a lot to say on this matter, so my apologies if this has been discussed and I merely had a black out moment. What of those in the respective Captain's families? Take myself for instance. I work for Intervention, but we both work for the Prince of Cheeses. I'm assuming my Made Man promotion would be up to the Prince to decide, correct? Or will the Captains be in charge of their own respective crop of Mafiosi? Also, in such an instance that all promotions had to be handled through the Don of the family, would the Captain be allowed to stand in as a reference? Or would it be advised that they, like PoC stated in his initial speech, stay out of the 'referencing' business just in case a faulty member got through? Merely wondering for the sake of things. I rather like the idea, as I said before, and am wishful in thinking this will be a positive impact upon the community. |

I am responsible for Skepta. He is an extension of my family. I don't know how Cheese handles his affairs and it is quite frankly none of my fucking business. Any other questions? |

| My apologies, Sir Tufting, if my questions have offended you. I did not mean to pry into family business, I was merely curious if it was a conformed rule all the cities had decided upon or had discussed, or whether it was one that would differ from crew to crew. Thank you for your response! | |

| What brings horrible scenarios to this life is miscommunitcation. We now must back up our our comments and learn to respect the individuals around us in order to become of a higher status. If anything this is a prep-class for becoming a good leader, if you so choose to. I see it as bringing back the fundamentals to leadership and understanding the initial concept of a mafioso's life. Respect, responsibility, honor, leadership. Anyone can make the ranks by knocking over 7-11's all day, but whats a true leader to that? Absolutely nothing! Your learning nothing and your doing nothing. The way I see this is if your not willing to put forth the extra effort and do as your told by the ones obviously "wiser" than you, Its not worth even giving you the option to be a leader. Hence, Disrespect. These are my opinions and viewpoints so if you disagree thats fine, I won't hold a grudge. Thank you | |

In response to petzl's opinion, and those who echo his sentiments, I agreed utterly and unequivocally with this...'scheme' when I was a Wise Guy; meaning I still had the work to do to earn Made. Which means that support does indeed come from the lower ranks as well as the higher, and even if not, what's so bad about that? Now, as a Made Man, it's a fairly reasonable assumption that I will be more vocally supportive of this initiative because simply, it boosts my own reputation. Anyone above Made Man should be thinking the same thing. Equally, those below Made Man are going to be more critical - they have to work harder. That's simple logic really. |

It really doesn't matter what anyones opinion on this is. We are not working at a fucking department store. If you don't like the rule, and you are that upset over it, you have really only three options. Stand up and try to change it, just go with the flow and keep your mouth shut, or leave. I am sure you can find someone willing to help you leave. Once again we are in the mafia, not working at some fucking company where we can go on strike. |

Ya know what, I just realized that it does not make sense to get your reference from anyone who is not made You get your "in" to the family, to the inner circle, from someone who is ALREADY in. It should be min MadeMan |

| POC you are a genius *Raises glass* now you really do have to prove you can handle made man rank. cuz if you really deserve made man status then there will be no problems in geting three referances. | |

So when we want to be promoted, will our boss contact us when we can get made and we then must send 3 references, or do we have to send 3 as soon as we are wise guys and they can then promote us whenever. How does it work? |

| I would believe it is up to the Wise Guy to take the initiative and gather the references for his boss. | |

^^^ Indeed Wise guys can inform their bosses at any time of their intended references. Reason being just because your button is available and you have references doesn't mean you are getting promoted and nagging is not something I want to willingly let myself in for. |

Ok, i see your point. And i agree that the Wise Guy should be the one collecting the references. But maybe the CL's should give the Wise Guys a heads up, send them a mail telling them to start collecting their references. When they see the Wise Guy as ready to be made. |

| I don't think the leader should have to give the Wise Guy a heads up. It should be common practice that as soon as you have aquired your Wise Guy promotion you should start to gather your references and send them to your boss. You don't have to have your button waiting for you before you can send in your references. So take the initiative and send in your references as soon as you turn Wise Guy. | |
