I don't think it ever was a right. Honestly, there are real concerns being shared here, though, I will say this...if you aren't being promoted to Made Man right away, under these new conditions, there's probably a reason for it. |

What a load of crap this policy is. Honestly, not every crewleader was even informed this would be put into place before PrinceofCheese enacted this policy.
Yes, it's true this is a lazy way of passing the buck. Can't hold yourself responsible for who you rank on your own? How come? Aren't you here to lead?
As is, we've let paranoia and terror take hold and what we've seen is certain leaders incapable of dealing with it on their own. Seriously, your solution is to pawn off the problem on two earners and a Capo? What a joke. Get to know your crewmembers and make a damn decision on your own.
With idiotic policies like this, this world will die. Nobody wants to do business in a world where they can't rank because everyone is so paranoid of what they "might" do. Not to mention, this only perpetuates the continuous cycles of cliques and coffeeshop pals, because those are the people that you "trust".
Take some initiative. Be responsible for your crews. Do more than take their money. Lead. Just lead. |

I think it's an absolute waste of time arguing about this move, the leaders have clearly made their minds up and nothing will change it, so perhaps instead of standing here trying to fight it, go out there and prove that you can still be the Made Man you so much desire, because lets face it, at least now, getting Made Man won't be seen as "just another rank" |

As reference collector, I can tell you Deviant got his references in AND, POC's son will do the same. Moot point though, the motion has passed and to date, has proven extremely successful, success being measured on the number of rogues who had to get references - Zero. |

Well, I believe that if one is properly prepared to be of said rank, then one should hold restraint enough to not go rogue, or to not kill unjustifiably. One of said rank is one of high regard, and should be treated--and should act--as such. So I could never see how this referencing system could be bad. If you're prepared to be Made, you should have friends that can state to that effect. |
