Dear Lord, I've seen enough of the crying. Extortion. An extra push. Bullshit. We're bastards. Oh my god, what horrible people we are. This is the mafia, quit acting like everything is made of butterflies and rainbows (No offense Jeddy!). To those of you that are acting like this is such a venomous act that never happens or has happened, I call you on that bullshit. I'm told stories about times before my ancestors arrived on these shores involving taxes and crazier things. More money and more of a pain in the ass. It's 1 million a week. Most crewleaders, I'm even wagering that even the majority of those in Philly, wipe their ass with a million dollars a day, much less a week. And if you really want me to get honest, I know that Donnie was a pay-as-you-go CL when he started off. No? And if I remember correctly, they taxed him more than the Rainbow tax that has set in. It's about time that everyone quits acting like we're asking for an arm and a leg here, because lets face it, if we wanted to do that we would have. And regardless of what you say or call us for putting this in, I can almost guarantee that we will see Godfathers in Philly sooner than expected. In fact, I'd put a damn high priced bet on it. And I was pretty happy to see the land owners in Philly more around and their families since this announcement went up. In my eyes, that's a win. My door is open to those who would like to rank, I will personally jail with them. So instead of filling my ears with bullshit, fill them with help. Those in PH should know that I've help them out wherever I could. I've loaned money to them for HQ's and given my advice to them on a regular basis. That hasn't changed. |

I will put ups some scenario hope all of you could think again.
First Scenario: I f a leader of one district made it to the status of a Godfather in 15 weeks, that is a 15M tax sent to the council. After that 15 weeks, the New Godfather will be needing such money for a new Headquarters that is without a fortification to help the new members protect themselves in that new HQ. Can this 15M be refunded or not? To help the new Godfather, we all surely do know how much money we need to have a new decent headquarters, 40M is a decent number to have a full crew headquarters with a Very Well Protected Fortification. Am just pointing out that if this leaders would keep the money for themselves and just thinking the better good of the district they have in the future rather than thinking of events that will let them suffer in the future.
Second scenario: Okey we had made funds for the Philadelphia City event. Is this good? Event is fun it would make the city looks prosperous enough to make such event. We all do know that Philadelphia is not prosperous enough to make such events, they are thinking of building rather than spending money to give to others. The Question is what is more important Growth or Events?
Yes we all do know that Donnie setup on time of Pay as you go to CL as Don Mako is pointing out, it is because there is a Godfather on that district who is leading them. It is Natural that every Crew Leader pay tax to their District Godfather for the better good of their district and city. Am I right or am i mistaken on this speculation? |

SwizZz steps from his slumber were he as been hiding for a few weeks due to personal stuff to hear the commotion of his fellow Phillians. Now this just tickles me to read, now i understand the thought process in this, as bruiser has stated, you see us as "unworthy or slacking" because we don't have a Gf or the members, but what chance do we have. We started as 1 crew then gimli got authed and you guys immediately killed our Gf, for reason that i can accept but then we were really left with no chance at all no Gf, No money, just some brothers trying to survive. We have turned our nothing into something, is it the something you wish we had... No. Why do you ask because we have nothing we have no BIG NAMES. We are just some little guys trying to make a name for ourselves, now im not protesting this i will be happy to pay because of the wishes from the Council and the bettering of Philly.
But my question is Why? Do you really need the money?...No No do you need the power?... No and before you all say it yes its the mafia, extortion's happen, but on a mass scale like this? No |

In my time here I've never seen or heard of a completely independent city getting taxed because a "group" decided how long it should take them to have a GF. It's fucking stupid. No other fucking words to describe it, especially not "inspiring" which yall would lead me to believe.
The amount is irrelevant. Plain and fucking simple. Also, Donnie "signed up" for that 'price plan'. He wasn't the head of a district running independently from all others. Maybe that's their problem, they should join a clique. :o
If everyone was so concerned and so willing to help, couldn't a push have been done privately? Rather than bringing down the morale and city heads with a public fucking spectacle? All you've done is opened up the floodgates for them to get thrashed. Doesn't seem like it was done out of consideration to me.
How the fuck can you be willing to help them when you're bringing them down? All you did was disrespect the entire city just to prove you could. There's no other reason otherwise this could have been done without the public spectacle. It's a fucking shame these "unique" thoughts went into bringing districts down rather than separating all these drone districts from one another. Nobody fucking stands out. |

I'm sorry you feel all those types of ways, rw318. I still stand behind what I've said, regardless of your own opinions. (Inserts a lot of meaningless cussing) However, my bet is still up on the table that they will have Godfathers before what was previously projected and that's all that really pleases me. If no one wants to take me up on that, then I believe I'm done here. |

"I'm told stories about times before my ancestors arrived on these shores involving taxes and crazier things. More money and more of a pain in the ass."
They were also before my time, but from what I can tell, they failed shortly after they were put into effect because just like this one, they were bullshit.
"And if you really want me to get honest, I know that Donnie was a pay-as-you-go CL when he started off. No? And if I remember correctly, they taxed him more than the Rainbow tax that has set in."
If his own city wanted to tax him then that's different. Kinda fucked up when another city steps in and taxes you.
"It's about time that everyone quits acting like we're asking for an arm and a leg here, because lets face it, if we wanted to do that we would have."
If it's such a minor amount then why do you feel it will motivate them.
"So instead of filling my ears with bullshit, fill them with help. "
No need to fill your ears will bullshit, you're already so full of shit on your own. |

The cussing is never meaningless, it serves a purpose. Cements a point a little harder, it's typical in our line of business. Fucking a! As I said, I'm sure it could have been pushed with a few mails, maybe even an actual sit down with them. Would make more sense then putting it all out in the streets and letting everyone have their way with Philly's dignity. Also, what was projected time frame of it all? |

I'm not a Chicago leader. Chicago does there own thing. I however am a New York leader and Godfather. If my Made Man wants to be a bellend on the streets? Sure, that's fine. I told them to stop and so they will. You're in the fucking mafia. Insults? Do something about it if you'd like. Every action has a reaction however. |

| Hmmm i think alot of people have got the wrong idea here. As Philidelphia is the nebouring city to New York they obviously want it to do well and progress. Like i said earlier in this thread i believe that this will motivate philly leaders and it already has. | |

sighs heavily, I dunno whats has me in shock more in this discussion/anouncement and those that sprung of it, the behaviour and words of some or the push for war by some. A leaders responsibility on both sides of this is for his or her district and city and I honestly wonder why some people would be willing to put their people at risk by following the attitudes of some. The fact people question rank and it's value, is easy to be seen in such a hot tempered situation and where free speech and respect, and "free speech" differentiate by city will continue to be different in many's eyes. would it being private in private have avoided this? of course does philly have anything to gain from war? apart from pride, no as allegedly they will be wiped and left with nothing. Many crews will rub their hands together hoping for new members and revenue streams and more cities open for potential godfathers. Just the same, although their is financial benefit for part of NY, we can question the same risk of war there, what ranks do you place how much value on if conflict comes? i know i can't put a price on my families members. As much a snide comment on irc avenue i heared of just an opportunity to feed hitters, there is a simple problem of this, hitters will always need feeding even with the increased visit of delaware visitors. This is a problem that has caused many a downfall, as hitters get bored too, and as we saw with a poorly trained hitter recently the damage can still be costly in a rogue. Would i rather see a tax, regeneration fund etc, then people shot, of course, would i like to see a successful philly, of course. Do i think this whole thing has soured some on their leaders on both side of the tax issue, of course but as has always been in the past. Won't be the first time have seen counter taxes created in such circumstances either... |

I've been biting my tongue on this for a while now but feel it needs to be said. I personally don't see how taxing 5 million a week from Philly will benefit in any way, shape or form other than feeding the pockets of those who are already "Richer than god". I'm sure there could of been much better ideas that would of actually benefited them, rather than this BS of "helping" or "motivating" by them giving money out of their pocket that would of in return actually helped and benefited them. Some have stated it's already made a change in their activeness but really what choice is there. Seems either they are forced to pay to those with bigger pockets, members and protection or death to the whole city. But maybe this was the whole purpose of this in the first place? Make them pay for sticking around or die and clear room for others. Which would just leave another empty district sitting around unoccupied for who knows how long, I don't see how that helps anybody. Which also leads me to. This tax system came into affect quick. Only a few days after some weren't Godfather minimum time. What surprises me is how quick it can take to come up with an idea or plan for a city that doesn't affect them at all and get it approved. But yet here we have over five districts that's been sitting and rotting for over a month now but still no word or news or even much signs of haste to get them filled.(Besides the recent LV project) Shouldn't the council be more worried about the bigger issues at hand rather than making rules just because you can to add more cash to your pockets? Errrr...I mean to help Philly of course. |

I do believe you should speak to your Godmother more, Yusuke. You know first hand how things work. All of the west is to be filled in the next week. Every district. I fail to see how these districts come into play in this discussion at all anyhow? Also, what you guys don't know. Behind closed doors, of course. Godfather Jeddy has given the money back and then some. He will also be helping Philadelphia's leaders by using some corrupt wardens he knows to get some people in jail so these men can hone there skills in the art of jail breaking. I think this discussion is over. Thanks! |
