Importing the cocaine from Columbia was turning out to be very lucrative business. .   The Columbiana coffee manufacturers was very pleased with the amounts of their coffee Nipsey_Hussle  were planning to ship back to the States.  In actuality we did purchase the coffee but were delivered some container filled with coffee and others just empty to house cocaine.  In order to disguise the distributions of the cocaine we needed to make it look like a legit business we decided to front it with an actual Coffee café.  

Expanding the operation to Detroit we needed a good location. With the help of a good friend Heath_Barkley we scouted the area and found a nice storefront location down the street from the Stairbird Apartment on Broadway Avenue in the Historic District here in Detroit.

It was originally a two story building but with the front part of the building we knocked out the second floor creating vaulted ceilings.   The back of the building maintained two floors.  The first floor was used to grind coffee and bag both the ground coffee and well as coffee beans.   The second floor was used for business office and the distribution of the cocaine in 10 pound coffee containers. 

Our trusted people were limited in the Detroit operation but we had eyes on other people as possible recruits.   With all the renovations completed we were ready to open Cafe Colombian Detroit.

While walking to the Cafe,  Alessia stopped at the newspaper stand to make sure they were delivering 10 daily newspapers to the cafe each morning.  Hopefully customers would read it and return it back to the rack or just leave it at their table for the waitresses to place back.   As she turned the corner with Heath_Barkley  and got closer to the Café she could swear she could already smell the coffee.

As they walked into the Cafe it was busy.  They mingled with the staff and customers a few minutes then sat down to a cup of coffee and a ham &cheese sandwich. It was almost time for Big Moe to arrive with the shipment to they went upstairs to the business office.

 Big Moe arrived with 100 pounds of the product.  Alessia and Heath watched as they bagged it in the coffee containers.  To their surprise it didn’t look suspicious at all.  Anyone that owned a restaurant, cafe or place that served coffee would be purchasing it in bulk like that. 

Alessia called the Boss @Nipsey-Hussle and told him that everything was taken care of, that the containers looked fine.   It took less than an hour to package and seals the coffee containers. The product and coffee was divided with a wooden panel, covered with wax so the smell of the coffee could not seep through, plus if anyone opened the container they would see it was coffee.  She told the Boss that Heath had a transaction for 20 pounds to be picked up tomorrow.

He was happy to hear the smaller shipments were running smoothly meaning  we wouldn't have a problem handling a larger shipment.  This was really a test run and it worked out very well.

When Alessia went back into the Cafe, Gail the Manager had a music system hooked up and there was soft jazz playing which added a very nice touch.

Not only were customers enjoying the coffee and meals they were also purchasing small containers of coffee to take home with them.

The aroma of roasted coffee beans drew Chiron to the newly opened Cafe. It was bigger than normal coffee shops and he could see plenty of people inside, enjoying their drink. He walked over to the queue and waited for his turn. The menu had lots of items on offer. He was unsure which one to pick, it was between the Volcanica and the Juan Valdez.

"I think I will have the Juan Valdez," he ordered his drink when it was finally his turn. "Can I also have this black cake," he asked the person behind the counter, pointing at the Torta Negra Columbiana. It didn't take long for them to prepare his order and he moved over to a table and set his items down on it.

On the table he also found the daily newspaper and he picked it up and began scanning through the pages while sipping on his coffee. He found an article about smugglers which he found interesting. 'Officials are baffled by the influx of drugs into the country from South American and Mexico. The border patrol agents have begun stricter checking at all ports of entry to find the source of these drugs. Cocaine is the chief narcotic that is flooding the streets of Chicago and the local population is hooked on the drug.'

Chiron shook his head after reading the news. He enjoyed smoking some of his herbs but he couldn't understand why people used these dangerous drugs. He didn't spend too much time pondering about it, the delicious looking black cake was waiting for him on the table. He cut into it and tasted a bite. It was soft and moist. The dried fruits and nuts added a new texture to it and he could get a faint taste of rum. Adding to that was the chocolate, which made the cake almost perfect. 

From the corner of his eyes he noticed a woman walk up to the manager. She wore a flowing black dress and the way she carried herself he figured she owned the place. She caught him looking at her and he smiled back at her.

He was large in stature but due to the fact that he had been awake for the past three days without any reprieve, you wouldn't be able to tell at all. He legs slumped low to the ground and his arms swayed slowly with every step that was taken forward with no real destination in sight; truth be told, Figment had been walking the streets of Detroit for days now with no real rhyme or reason to it and people were beginning to notice and question his antics. 

That's when he decided that maybe some sleep would do him some good, and decided to go tuck himself in behind what looked to be a newer establishment that went by the name of Cafe Columbian Detroit. Putting on his pajamas and laying down in between a dumpster and some weird liquid that was probably thrown out the night before, Figgy slowly passed out and found himself in dreamland once more, until the nightmares returned and reminded him exactly of why he hadn't slept for so very long in the first place.

Sadly, he would not find any respite for his tired eyes here, but that's when he got to thinking that a Cafe may have exactly what the man needs to get back up and carry on! That's when he walked over to the front of the establishment and walked inside, forgetting to change out of the pajamas before doing so, but he figured it wouldn't be that big of a deal. 

"What is your strongest drink? Something that would take a tired man and rectify it completely, a drink so caffeinated that sleep would be a complete and utter afterthought?"

Eyeing up the menu a little more, he also noticed sandwiches and smiled to himself.

"A roast beef too, while you're at it. Thank you."

It was a long road trip, but Nipsey finally arrived in Detroit from Chicago. He traveled in several cars with his bodyguards and workers. They parked in the back of the building, while Nipsey walked inside.

He ordered a coffee and went to the back where he saw Alessia. After giving her a hug, he sat down in the office.

"I have some of my people out back who brought down some product. A few associates of mine out here in Detroit will be swinging by to pick it up."

The waitress brought Nipsey's coffee. He took a few sips and removed a blunt from his suit pocket. He took a few puffs and offered Alessia a hit.

"How's business going down here? I'm in town for a few days if you need my help."

He stood and looked with great interest at this cafe, seems like they had some really good beans when brewing coffee for their costumers, he walks in and gets a table, sits on a chair and waits to be served, when he so gets served he asks for some fresh brewed coffee along with a croissant, it just take a small moment before the hot coffee and warm cake was in front of him, he starts to smell at the coffee and get really glad and deep inerest to taste this new for him coffee, he takes a sip, and wow what an explosion in mouth, this coffee sure were something to drink, amazing taste. He was in heaven when sitting there and drinkign up his coffee and eating the tasty croissant to it. He pays up and thanks dearly for the great coffee and promise he will come back many many times to drink there coffee for sure.

After a very successful meeting with Drake in New York, Nia and Templar flew over to Detroit. Before they went over to check out the apartment they check in on the Café Colombia Detroit. Nia placed some trusted men that she knew in the operation there. She was sure that things were running smoothly but felt more secure with some of her people there.   She knew that the inventory was getting low and planning to rectify that in the upcoming days.

The Café itself was booming. The place was very busy.  Those who weren’t sitting down were running in and out purchasing the small containers of coffee from the coffee store. . They had several local restaurants purchasing in bulk from the e back. The product was moving out undetected which was exactly what she wanted.

Figment was working really well out front in the Café and Coffee Store. He keeps everything under control and really proved he was trustworthy. He never questioned the activities going on upstairs.  He knew eventually NiaVandross who let him in on it.

Nia arrived at the Café and asked Figment to come to the back with her.  It was time for him to learn the rest of the operation.

She took him into the back office.  You could see the floor out a 2 way mirror. On this floor she explained that the coffee is grind.  Then we bag grind coffee or just the coffee beans for the Coffee Store.  She then told him to follow her upstairs to what   she considered the wholesale department.  Clients purchase coffee in bulk. She went on to explain that the coffee and product is delivered in 60 pound coffee drums, then it’s disbursed to 10 pound coffee containers. 

Nia introduced Figment to Rook.

This is Rook.  He has been running the operation smoothly since starting.   We will be expanding to Los Angeles soon and he will be going there. Adding to security we would like you to also supervise the rest of the operation.  Once you meet and get to know the workers you will find out that they are trusted, loyal people who do their job well. When there is a delivery or pick up you will witness it, approve and sign off on the inventory, then once in a while spot check to make the amount of product on hand is correct. If there’s any discrepancy we would need you to handle it.  Rook will be with you a few days to bring you up to par on things.  Any changes you see necessary go ahead and change them to your satisfaction, just give us a heads up.

Just work with Rook.  It will all fall into place and I have no doubt you can handle it.

Nia walked over to a lock file cabinet, unlocked it and pulled out a file.

These are some of the people you will have to get to know well.  Their names are fictions they go by.  Nia lifted 3 picture and handed them to Figment.  This is Spider, Mr. Watson and Stoke. You will be dealing with them quite a bit, the rest you can just take your time and get to know.

If we keep running the operation as is, we shouldn’t have any problems. With business going well downstairs, customers in and out buying coffee,  local restaurants buying in bulk, there’s no reason to suspect this isn’t a legit business.

It had been a few days now of working the circuit and everything seemed to be going smoothly for Figment, he had been taking instructions from the old head of security, Rook, and today was his final day here. Everything would soon be on his shoulders, but there didn't seem to be too much to the job-- everyone already knew that the mafia was very organized and powerful so very few dared to step on the operations of others unless they were looking for a real fight on their hands. 

"So this is it then? My first official day on the job?"

Rook nodded to the man and took his leave off to Los Angeles, out the front door of the coffee shop and off to his new work. With that, Figment walked back up the stairs and into the meat of the operation which seemed to be smooth going for now. A new shipment had just made its way inside and his minor oversight was barely required.

We seem to be off a bit, sir. We're not sure why... but.. it's just not all accounted for.

There was a moment of panic in the back of his mind, of course, it would take until the moment the man who knew exactly what to do would leave for something to go south. There wasn't exactly a handbook or guide on how to deal with things like this, but keeping his calm he looked over towards the man who was now standing in front of him.

"By how much?", Figment asked in a semi-hushed tone, and the answer was a surprising one. One of the containers had come in light by nearly an entire pound upon weighing. With a broad stroke to his newly acquired beard, he thought about where to go from here; which is why he called in the three men who were in charge of keeping up with the weight of the 'coffee'.

Grasping his gun and thinking about needing to send a message he began speaking with the mildly frightened workers, but luckily it was figured out just before he had to pull his weapon from its holster as Spider entered the room to give Figment the good news. The cocaine had been accounted for earlier and was removed for testing, and was not missing at all.

"Well, it seems you are all free to go back to work. Everything is settled."

With his command, the three men happily rushed out of the room and Figment was able to sit down and relax for the rest of the day. His first day on the job going without a hitch, but surely more would be in store for him in the coming weeks.

Judas dropped by this fabulous cafe and took a seat. He ordered himself a cup of cappuccino and a sandwich. While they prepare his order he smokes few cigarettes and reads some newspapers. It has been very sad day for Detroit, a lot of killings in the underworld. But thats how it is in the life of being criminal. He gets his order, thanks the waitress and gives her a little tip. He relaxes in his chair and enjoys his morning. When he finishes he pays for it and leaves.

After attending the funeral of Figment, Nia and Roots made their way back to the Café.   Most of the staff had learned about his death and were very sad about it, he was a good guy.  Nia went into the office and looked over the paperwork submitted by her men investigating his death.  Nothing indicated that it had anything to do with the operation.

She gave Drake a call to let him know the outcome of the investigation.  He was pleased it didn’t involve the operation and told Nia to make sure his family was taken care of.  Nia told him that she had already taken care of the funeral cost and send a generous amount to his family.

There was an inconsistency within his mind, the kind that you'd not find in a human representing the more normal side of things. Yet he was a representative to a new kind of man and with that there was a bit of a steep learning curve in learning how to act more as one self should in situations with other humans. Which could perhaps explain why he was wading in a puddle just outside of a few businesses in the Detroit Business Districts. 

Now that he was properly soaked and cleaned, he wrung himself out to dry. Looking more dapper than he had in days, it was time for him to go grab something to eat before his big mafia meeting later on in the day and what better than to go to a local place he had heard only good things about from some of the people who lived within the city; Cafe Columbian Detroit. Opening up the doors to the shop, he made his way down towards the counter where the barista stood with a drink already in hand. 

"I just need a coffee. Black."

While the worker went and completed his order, Orko took a moment to look around the place. It was a bit boring around here, but nothing he couldn't liven up a little with a cunning and dastardly plan. You see, just before he had taken his shower he tipped off two gangs about this place and both of them were going to be here any moment for a piece of what they believed to be a rather large score. 

"Here you are, one coffee completely devoid of taste."

Perfect. Just as the man handing him the drink, the bullets began to whiz just outside of the building. A few strays even made it inside and one had already hit a customer, this was better than he had even hoped! Taking a seat closer to the back just far enough away from the fireworks he stared out the window at the gigantic warzone now taking place and sipped on his coffee. Surely the police would arrive any moment as he had tipped them off too, and that's when the real bang for his buck would be ensured.

"Dinner and a movie."

Taking some food off of a nearby table from some distraught pedestrians who had already fled the scene from the back of the shop, he munched away and smiled to himself. It was setting up to be a very eventful afternoon and he was only getting started.

Judas got back to Detroit for some unfinished business and while he was here and had some free time, he decided to grab a coffee. He walked in and took a seat. It was a pleasant place and he liked the decoration. He took off his hat and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. As he lighted one up a waitress came and asked what the gentleman would have. Judas ordered himself a cup of coffee with some milk and sugar. Waitress left to make his order. Soon after some time she came and brought the drink. Judas thanked her and gave her some tip. The coffee was delicious as always in this city. When he finished he paid for the drink and walked outside. Continued his journey to the meeting.

Devante walked into the Café he was mildly surprise that Nia owned this place.  But he wasn't there for the coffee he was there to present her with a better dial then she was getting from his competition.  He was willing to ensure her product would arrive in Detroit and or Chicago as long as she agreed to purchase a set amount ne matter what.  She would have to buy three hundred kilo's a month come hell high water and end her purchases with his rivals.  He knew that his quality was better so she would make a better profit from purchasing from the Galindo Cartel.  However she wasn't there.  Devante took a seat and waited as Carlos sat with him and Oscar and Manny waited in the car out front.

It has been a long couple of weeks for Hoth and his entourage as he walked around on a sunny Detroit day. This shop a few blocks away from his main headquarters building in the city caught his eye and thought he might as well support the local businesses. Inside seemed just as crowded as you would expect for something like this. Hoth took a seat, alongside the other men that usually come along places with him, and he caught the attention of someone to get him a black coffee. He wasn't a big fan of putting sweeteners and all that other stuff into his coffee like other people did. As one of the few times, he was able to sit down, in peace, Hoth took the time to just read some newspaper and see how things were across the country, mainly to see if any big-time mobsters were shot or catching a jail sentence.

There were 3 things in life that matters, money, girls and coffee, he were mostly nowadys into coffee so when seeing that Cafe Colombian were open he got glad and joined the joint and bought a fesh coffee which he sat and enjoys 100%

It was a long day for Jason, since the morning he was meeting up with real estate agents to buy himself a property to open a business in Detroit. But so far nothing that he liked. But he will continue looking. In the meantime he walked into coffee shop and sat down. He ordered himself a cup of fresh coffee with some creme and sugar. He was pretty exhausted but nonetheless he wanted to get that property, today. While the waitress prepapred his drink, he went once more through the newspapers articles and found a pretty decent looking property. He wrote down the phone number. The waitress brought his coffee, Jason thanked her and gave her a little tip for doing wonderful job. She thanked back and smiled. Jason pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lighted one up. He went to the payphone and dialed the number. They agreed to meet in an hour or two at the property that was on sale. Jason finished his drink and smoke, paid for it and called himself a taxi.

Rochelle arrives at the Café to meet with Big Moe.  She had known Big Moe for years but really hooked up with him when she was smuggling emeralds out of Columbia.   She helped him established contacts with exporting cocaine packed in coffee containers out of the country.   There had been a lot of bloodshed and he had lost some valuable people.

As she walked into the Café the first thing she notices was the soft jazz playing in the background, it was a nice addition that added to the atmosphere.  The place was very crowded with people coming and going.  Looking so legit you would never notice the extra curriculum going on.  

Rochelle sat down and ordered a cup of coffee.  When the waitress came back she introduced herself, told her she was a friend of Big Moe and asked if by any chance he was in.  She said her name was Jade and that would she would check for her.  Shortly Big Moe came out with a big grin on his face, greeted Rochelle with a big hug.

He escorted her to his business office on the second floor.  Rochelle didn’t realize how large the building was, it didn’t look that large from the outside.

Big Moe took Rochelle around, introduced her to a few people and then they went back into the office,   talked about the business and exactly what how he wanted Rochelle to get involved.

Rochelle explained that she did have a lot on her plate with opening the jewelry stores but told Big Moe that she would help him, and then see if they could get some trusted people to join the operation.  But until then he would have to delay his next run until we had people in place to handle it.  Big Moe told her that they have to work fast because he was getting just a little low on product and didn’t want to lose any of his loyal customers both here and in Columbia.   Both of them knew they wanted only the best.

Nipsey and Rain are the offspring’s of generations of friendships within their families.  Rain was one to stay away from the life.  She felt it was very violent and morally bankrupted. But now it was time to step up and it be the life she choose,  she joined Nipsey’s organization is Seattle.

The operations of the Cafés in Chicago and Detroit were a joint family business.  Since Rain and Big Moe were friends, she was  already involved and knew the business, Nipsey asked her to oversee the operation,  but promise he wouldn’t leave it all on her shoulders.  It was just a hustle for Rain, her responsibility ended when the product landed in the States safely.  But she was also friends with Roots who maintain the sales, knew he had thing pretty much under control so Rain told Nipsey she was in.  

Rain, Big Moe and Nighttrid arrived at the Café and entered through the loading docks at the back of the building.  On the first floor Rain showed Nighttrid the legit section of the operation.  They were grinding the coffee beans packing either coffee beans or grind coffee in different pound containers.  Rain explained that coffee is picked up and delivered on almost a daily base, so any delivery is business as usual.   They took the freight elevator to the second floor then passed through security where Roots met them.  Rain introduced Nighttrid.   As they walked toward the office Roots was giving a slight tour.   This is where we keep extra stock. In a small room right behind us the product is broken down and placed into bulk containers for special orders. The bulk containers go out for pick up or delivery. Local businesses buy in bulk, but of course we have our special customers, Roots said in almost a whisper and laughed.
