Who will be the NEXT US president. | Started by: Kris on Mar 27, '20 03:01 |
Even worse, is that now its pretty common place to form an opinion on what you hear *first*, and never go to read up and investigate the matter with any further fact checking. Its low effort to slam someone with bad information than it correct it. This really is the downside when most sources are not required or even care to uphold any sort of journalistic integrity any more. Combine that with bad actors toying with public opinion on social media and you have a recipe of a large portion of the world soaking up bad information that was designed to sway their views by being the first, loudest, or most repetitious. This isn't a democrat vs republican, or a US vs international affairs, this is a world wide crisis of people not using critical thinking and just accepting whatever info is being flung at them. We all fall guilty of this on some level or another and I understand no one has the time to fact check or inform themselves on every little tidbit in the news - but we have to be self aware enough that we take everything with a grain of salt and not be so open to just accept everything that you hear until you do due diligence yourself from mutiples places that have a history of fair news that fact check themselves. |

I'm more worried about who we're voting into the Senate and the House. Because the people there, that are supposed to represent "me" are definitely not doing that. All of these politicians go in with their own self serving agendas.

Idk who the next president will be. However if weve learned anything from this Corona Crisis mess. I hope the country will actually elect someone with presidential leadership qualities. If the loss of American lives, doesn't teach us the downfalls of mal leadership. Nothing will or can... |

clicking on "quick reply" to this topic seems a little risky .... a longer response, riskier still. But, i have a hustle point to earn, so here goes.
Politics in the US is very difficult at the moment - at all levels; not just that of the President. But given the process to get to become President, maybe the problem is that who in their right mind would want it? My personal theory is that not requiring broadcasters and others to be balanced in how they report is a significant root cause. You end up only watching and reading your side's tv etc, so you don't get exposed to the other side's arguments. The other side may be wrong, but they are not necessarily stupid, and rational arguments supporting their point of view need to be listened to. What if there is a better way than your way? I guess that my own politics would probably be "one nation conservative" albeit i detest Boris. Surely the party in power at any time has a moral obligation to govern for all of the people - not just some. Shouldn't the rich and parties of the rich accept that they are part of the society and have an obligation to all of society? Surely the rich must pay more tax - alot more - than poor people. Shouldn't poorer people and parties of working people accept that a vibrant capitalist economy pays for alot more than other models even if some people do alot better than others? And don't get me started on health care. .... |

This is an easy one Trump is gonna win by landslide victory it's a no brainer.... Biden is a creep and Sanders is a lunatic... Democrats dont have a chance with those two candidates.

Couldn't agree more Squishy. Truth be told, I hadn't heard about Biden being accused prior to reading it here, so it's not even like it's particularly time consuming to do said due dilligence. As far as I'm concerned, journalists disseminating inaccurate information should be suspended pending an inquiry by an impartial body, and if they're found to be intentionally or maliciously citing false information, should be banned from journalism entirely. If it's unintentional, then a suspension period can be agreed upon... and don't even get me started on journos hiding behind source anonymity. |

Okay, Biden being accused of things is something you have to take with a grain of salt of course. You can, however, go watch video after video of him not being able to keep his hands to himself when it comes to women. That's a little odd. It's even odder when you watch a certain video that gets scrubbed often that has him touching children in very odd inappropriate ways while taking pictures with congressional family members... Videos like this will never be blasted on mainstream news I bet. That doesn't even show one of the more blatant and gross gropes I've seen from him and this day. Yeah, Biden is a creep. Not saying Trump is some great man himself, but I know that Biden is an establishment creep who has corporate interests in mind and not those of the American people just based upon doing a little research into how the man votes and what bills he pushes. Did you know that he bragged about writing the Patriot Act in '96? Go look up what the Patriot Act has done for you and your rights and then get back to me on why the man should be in office. |

Jerk that is super, super creepy, I will admit. I've never been a fan of politicians kissing babies or kids, but that really is quite awkward to watch. That being said, I have no horse in the US elections really. I'd be surprised if Trump didn't get in, but I'd rather Bernie wins cos I prefer Sanders' left leaning, more socialist policy to the GOP right wing corporation stance. Biden, however, I've never really taken the time to investigate his policy or him personally because he was never a genuine candidate afaik. Again though - it shouldn't actually affect me in any meaningful way, so my opinion is kinda moot. |

KingProer , I assure you that is not the only video like that one out there. There are at least questions to be answered with the way he interacts with women. However, most people in America do not do the time to research any of our politicians. A lot of people vote the straight party line here, or, worse yet, they take the opinion of the old boob tube. https://www.cnet.com/news/joe-bidens-pro-riaa-pro-fbi-tech-voting-record/ It's not hard to research these people and the things they like to push into law. |

Jerk, decent proposition here. I am no supporter of Biden. Personally don't have feelings for the guy at all, not bad, not good. Hes just a middle of the line fella. Highly educated, highly seasoned in politics and of course the VP when Obama was dealing with the last health crisis....where 100k-200k people didn't die. (More on this in a second).
Trump da Creep So for all the 'creepy' stuff about Biden you hinted at. Its so funny how people forget about the 'locker room talk' of Trump https://www.vox.com/2016/10/7/13205842/trump-secret-recording-women
Then obviously, whats more 'creepier' than talking about the sexuality of your own daughter? I guess that pretty normal huh? https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1135581/donald-trump-ivanka-trump-daughter-sexual-remarks
Lying list of Associates Then obviously there is a long list of Trump associates that are in Prison from his circle. Close friends rather, that did all the dirty work for him. And went to jail for their King. And usually your friend circle is a great indication of the type of person you are. Now whats the biggest underlying thing to check here is, how many of these guys went to jail for LYING to congress and authorities.
Crisis management Now lets talk about the crisis at hand, shall we? The COVID19. Trumps staff and well wishers have always hinted at the 'mismanagement' of H1N1. However, if you look closely. H1N1 was a different kind of pathogen, a airborne one. And here we have COVID19, that can be spread by sneezing and such. But isn't a airborne disease. Which makes it less likely to spread. However with our current President at the helm. The lies havent stopped. Grindenwald wrote a post on here almost two weeks about about a research that informed the MR folks about the possible tolls to human life from the mismanagement of COVID19. At the time Elmo/badwolf called Grindenwald a 'tinfoil head'. Well...2 days ago President Trump repeated the numbers Grindenwald had stated TWO WEEKS AGO here. I guess the MR folks were more informed about the COVID virus than the POTUS. Since he only got that research report 2 days ago, according to his presser yesterday. And the lies havent stopped. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2020/03/trumps-lies-about-coronavirus/608647/
So I have no idea what kind of President Biden would make. Honestly with the work Cuomo is doing, Id like to see the DNC replace Biden with Cuomo for the general elections. That man exuberates leadership and Presidential class. However something needs to be said about Obamas handling of the H1N1 crisis with Biden by his side. And Trumps mismanagement of the COVID19...had Trump just told the truth and was honest with the American people. So many lives would have been saved. Alas, his reelection matters more than American lives. |

Peekaboo I don't do partly line politics. Trump has plenty of faults as well. I don't listen and base my views off the TV or political theater. I don't see Trump groping children in public. All you are hearing is that you think I like Trump. I think anyone under the left right paradigm doesn't know a drop of the truth. An eagle has a left wing and a right wing. It flies the country to the same place. The problem stems far higher than orange man bad.
This corona shit has allowed the government to give the Federal Reserve the right to print money at will now. They are pushing to get rid of encryption. Pelosi was pushing for a US E currency. Whether or not the corona virus will be a catastrophe or an overreaction in the end one thing is certain. Liberties are dying day by day and the masses have been convinced it is all in their best interests. The banks are getting trillions in this new bailout... People still think Corona was the only reason for the economic collapse that has been touted as headed our way for some time.
So yes, Biden bad. Yes, Trump bad. I could go on about Bernie... People that have risen to the top have been vetted before they ever get there. As long as you are OK with fucking over your fellow man it is a spot for you. |
